St John of God Hospital Geraldton is a 60-bed private hospital providing health care to Geraldton and the Mid West of Western Australia.Established in 1935, the hospital first opened as a 28-bed facility and underwent major renovations in 1969. 6GGG (formerly 6GE) is a commercial radio station at 72 Chapman Road in Geraldton, Western Australia which has been broadcasting since 1937. It was once part of the Whitford Radio Network which also included 6PM Perth and 6AM Northam. In the late 1980's, it was part of the Bond Radio Network (owner: Alan Bond) headquartered at Perth's Radio 6PM. In 1991 it converted from 1008 AM to 96.5 FM and changed its callsign to 96.5 GGG-FM as the 2nd commercial FM station in Regional WA after opposition Geraldton station 98FM had launched earlier in 1991. The mid 90s saw 98FM and 96.5 merge into one company. 2005 saw 96.5 relaunch as WAFM as part of the Redwave Media Network.

As of June 2018, Geraldton had an urban population of 37,648. The Freemasons Hotel is a historic hotel in Geraldton, Western Australia. It is located at 79 Marine Terrace in central Geraldton, at the corner of Durlacher Street.The Freemasons Hotel was founded in the early 1870s, operating on a site adjacent to the modern location. By 1891 the licensee was Onslow Austin Trigg. A new Freemasons Hotel was designed by Henry Stirling Trigg, and built in 1895. The hotel was one of only a few substantial buildings in the area.The building cost £6,000, and the furniture a further £2,000. There were 45 rooms in all. The ground-floor contained the front bar, a 21-by-17-foot (6.4 by 5.2 m) entrance from Marine Terrace, a 17-by-18+3⁄4-foot (5.2 by 5.7 m) saloon bar with three entrances, as well as four 13-by-12-foot (4.0 by 3.7 m) parlours, and a 17-by-15-foot (5.2 by 4.6 m) music room. An arcade provided access from the street to the bars, as well as a luxurious billiards room, measuring 33 by 22 feet (10.1 by 6.7 m), and featuring a low-cushion table imported from Melbourne. A 35-by-17-foot (10.7 by 5.2 m) dining room could seat 60 people, and was fitted with an expensive walnut sideboard and overmantel, and matching furniture. A separate corridor off the arcade provided access to the rooms used by boarders and lodgers. The ground floor also had a luggage room, and a reading and smoking room.A large jarrah staircase, flanked by ornate columns supporting an arch, provided access to the upper level. There were 21 bedrooms upstairs, as well as a smoke-room, ladies' parlour, ladies' lavatory, bathrooms, and linen lockers, all arranged around six corridors. Three of the bedrooms were double rooms and the rest single rooms. The exterior of the building featured a balcony around three sides, and a tower rising from the corner of the building.The hotel remains a landmark in Geraldton. The hotel was listed in the local Municipal Inventory on 23 June 1998. Restoration works c. 2001 replaced two verandahs over the footpaths and the corner tower, which had been removed. Further work in 2014 restored the doors between the front and lounge bars, and the building was repainted.The hotel is also a live music venue; artists such as Jon English, The Angels, Angry Anderson, Daryl Braithwaite and the Bondi Cigars have performed there.

The City of Greater Geraldton is a local government area in the Mid West region of Western Australia, 424 kilometres (263 mi) north of the state capital, Perth on the Indian Ocean. It covers an area of 12,625.5 square kilometres (4,874.7 sq mi), and its seat of government is the town of Geraldton. It was established on 1 July 2011 following the amalgamation of the Shire of Mullewa and the City of Geraldton-Greenough, itself a product of a 2007 amalgamation between the City of Geraldton and Shire of Greenough.

The City of Geraldton was a local government area in the Mid West region of Western Australia, 424 kilometres (263 mi) north of the state capital, Perth on the Indian Ocean. The City covered an area of 46.3 square kilometres (17.9 sq mi), and its seat of government was the town of Geraldton. The council amalgamated with the Shire of Greenough, which contained Geraldton's industrial and outer suburban areas, in 2007 to form the City of Geraldton-Greenough. The area is now, as of 1 July 2011, part of the City of Greater Geraldton.

The City of Geraldton-Greenough was a local government area in the Mid West region of Western Australia, 424 kilometres (263 mi) north of the state capital, Perth on the Indian Ocean. It covered an area of 1,798.3 square kilometres (694.3 sq mi), and its seat of government was the town of Geraldton. In existence for exactly four years, it was established on 1 July 2007 through the amalgamation of the former City of Geraldton and Shire of Greenough, and itself amalgamated with the Shire of Mullewa into the City of Greater Geraldton on 1 July 2011.
