Torre Girasoles

Torres del Poeta (Spanish for Poet Towers) is a mixed-use skyscraper complex in La Paz, Bolivia. Built between 2012 and 2018, the complex consists of four towers of which twin towers C and D are the tallest, standing at 150 m (490 ft) tall with 36, respectively 34 floors. Tower D is the current second tallest building in Bolivia.

Plaza Abaroa (Abaroa Square) is a public space, named in honor of Eduardo Abaroa the Bolivian hero who fought in the War of the Pacific. It is located in the city of La Paz, Bolivia, in the Sopocachi area, among 20 de Octubre, Sánchez Lima, Pedro Salazar & Belisario Salinas streets.

Universidad Nuestra Señora de La Paz (UNSLP) (English: Our Lady of La Paz University), founded on April 24, 1992, is a private nonprofit university located in La Paz, Bolivia. It is one of the oldest private universities in Bolivia. It is composed of six academic faculties: Architecture and construction Administrative and economic sciences Political and social sciences Engineering Medicine Dentistry It also has master's programs in business administration and journalism. As of July 30, 2023, there are more than 3,200 students enrolled in classes, with more than 230 teachers and professors as well as at least 50 additional administrative staff.

Peasant Research and Promotion Center (Spanish: Centro de Investigación y Promoción del Campesinado; CIPCA) was founded in Bolivia by three Jesuits in 1970 to seek the most effective ways for farmers to pursue structural development and to integrate into the social fabric in the country.

Three consecutive Extradosed bridges are part of a north beltway of La Paz in Bolivia. The project was funded by CAF (Corporación Andina de Fomento) through a credit to the Municipality in 2006. In 2007, the Municipal Government of La Paz awarded the design and construction of The Triplets Bridge Project to the JV “Consorcio Asociación Accidental Progreso”. As part of this contract, PEDELTA carried out the conceptual and final detailed design. There was a preliminary design that defined three three-span cable-stayed bridges with central spans between 90 and 110 metres (300 and 360 ft) and two cable-stay planes, similar to another existing in the city: the Bridge of the Americas. After a study of alternatives, where the bridge should have a cable supported deck in order to fulfill the technical specifications of the contract, it was proposed to modify the structural type to improve the visual impact on the landscape of La Paz. Therefore, it was proposed an extradosed bridge type, which reduces the height of the pylon, and a single plane of stays to allow a more transparent view

Higher University of San Andrés (Universidad Mayor de San Andrés or UMSA or Major University of San Andrés) is the leading public university in Bolivia, established since 1830 in the city of La Paz. UMSA is the second-oldest university in Bolivia, after the University of San Francisco Xavier de Chuquisaca (1624). It is one of the most prestigious higher academic centers in the country. As of 2013, UMSA had around 80,434 registered students, making it the university with the largest student body in Bolivia. Several presidents of Bolivia have studied at the university. In 2017, the QS Latin American University Rankings placed UMSA as the best Bolivian university and in the position 91 of the Latin American Universities.

The Miraflores Women's Penitentiary Center (Spanish: Centro Penitenciario Femenino de Miraflores) is a women's prison in the Miraflores district of La Paz, Bolivia. The facility is a high security prison nominally created to hold forty inmates, although it holds many more, with some incarcerated women housing children with them.British anthropologist Alison Spedding—who was incarcerated there for some time—described conditions at the prison as spartan, overseen by staff of both sexes wearing military uniform, but that illegal drugs were less available than at other prisons.Former Bolivian president Jeanine Áñez was held in preventive detention there from 2021 to 2022. She has claimed to have suffered torture and abuse in the prison. Following the imposition of a ten-year prison sentence, she is to serve the rest of her prison term there. Other inmates have complained about what they see as privileged treatment for Áñez, seeking equal treatment for themselves.

Estadio Hernando Siles is a multi-purpose stadium in La Paz, Bolivia. It is the country's largest stadium, with a capacity of 41,143 seats. It is named after Hernando Siles Reyes, the 31st President of Bolivia (1926–1930). The stadium is located in the Miraflores borough of La Paz, at an altitude of 3,637 metres (11,932 feet) above sea level, making it one of the highest professional stadiums in the world. Opened in 1930, it is the home ground of three major Bolivian league football clubs; Club Bolívar, The Strongest and La Paz F.C., as well as several smaller top sides: Universitario de La Paz, Chaco Petrolero and Mariscal Braun. The stadium also hosts lower league clubs: Fraternidad Tigres and Academia de Balompié Boliviano.

Miraflores is a neighborhood of La Paz, the capital city of Bolivia. It is located in the east of the city center. Miraflores has as its main attractions the Botanical Garden, Busch Avenue, Villarroel Square to the north, the Hernando Siles Stadium next to the Archaeological Plaza, among others. Miraflores is a residential neighborhood and is completely urbanized. The area was subject to extensive redevelopment, starting in the 1950s.The Miraflores Women's Penitentiary Center is located there.

San Pedro prison or El penal de San Pedro (Saint Peter's Prison) is the largest prison in La Paz, Bolivia and is renowned for being a society within itself. Significantly different from most correctional facilities, inmates at San Pedro have jobs inside the community, buy or rent their accommodation, and often live with their families. The sale of cocaine base to visiting tourists gives those inside a significant income and an unusual amount of freedom within the prison walls. Elected leaders enforce the laws of the community, commonly through stabbing. The prison is home to nearly 3,000 inmates (not including the women and children that live inside the walls with their convicted husbands), with additional guests staying in the prison hotel.The book Marching Powder, written by Rusty Young and published in 2003, describes the experiences of the British inmate Thomas McFadden who became known for offering prison tours to tourists. Another book El Choco, by Markus Lutteman, was published in 2007 and tells the story about Jonas Andersson, a Swedish inmate who offered prison tours to tourists from Posta, the richest area of San Pedro.

Universidad Católica Boliviana "San Pablo" is the official name of the Catholic University of Bolivia. This private university is the oldest in Bolivia that does not receive economical budget of Government. Established in La Paz in 1963 and active since 1966, the university now has four regional units in La Paz, Cochabamba, Tarija and Santa Cruz de la Sierra.

Estadio Libertador Simón Bolívar is a multi-use stadium in the Tembladerani neighborhood of the city of La Paz, Bolivia. It is most often used for football matches, on club level by Club Bolívar. The stadium has a capacity of 5,000 people. The stadium was founded on the 9th of February 1968, and has been used for FIFA World Cup games.
