Whitley Bay High School is a mixed upper school and sixth form located in Whitley Bay, North Tyneside, England.

Brierdene was to have been a railway station on the Collywell Bay Branch Line and construction began in 1913 and was abandoned in 1914. The station was to have had 2 platforms and served by the North Eastern Railway.

Monkseaton is an area of Whitley Bay, North Tyneside, in the North East of England. Historically in Northumberland, it is in the north-east of the borough, 3⁄4 mile (1.2 kilometres) from the North Sea coast and 1+1⁄2 mi (2.5 km) north of the River Tyne at North Shields. One mile (1.5 kilometres) to the north of Monkseaton, the extensive built-up areas of North Tyneside change abruptly into green belt stretching north into south-east Northumberland. The Playhouse, Whitley Bay is a state of the art, 630 seater auditorium in the coastal resort of Whitley Bay, Tyne and Wear. Having undergone a major and completed refurbishment by North Tyneside Council in 2009, the contemporary theatre has a glass foyer, front of house facilities, box office and bar facilities. In addition it also features a redesigned auditorium, new company room and chorus rooms. The transformation of the venue, situated on Marine Avenue, was a key part of North Tyneside Council's £64million regeneration programme for Whitley Bay. It has become an integral part of the local community programme, regularly playing host to productions from local artistic and drama groups. The Playhouse is managed by SMG, who locally own and manage Newcastle's 11,000+ seater Metro Radio Arena and 1,100 seater Mill Volvo Tyne Theatre.A specially-commissioned installation by artist Rolf Wojciechowski, is displayed in the North corridor of the theatre to mark the re-opening of the Playhouse Whitley Bay in 2009. A time capsule in the form of a wooden box has been made by longtime theatre supporter Rid Stokoe, and filled with a collection of memorabilia from its proud past.

The Spanish City is a dining and leisure centre in Whitley Bay, a seaside town in North Tyneside, Tyne & Wear, England. Erected as a smaller version of Blackpool's Pleasure Beach, it opened in 1910 as a concert hall, restaurant, roof garden and tearoom. A ballroom was added in 1920 and later a permanent funfair.Located near the seafront, the Spanish City has a 180 ft-long (54.8 m) Renaissance-style frontage and became known for its distinctive dome, now a Grade II listed building. There are towers on either side of the entrance, each of which carries a half-life-size female bacchanalian figure in copper, one holding cymbals, the other a tambourine. The building's architects were Robert Burns Dick, Charles T. Marshall and James Cackett.The band Dire Straits mentioned the Spanish City in their 1980 single, "Tunnel of Love", which from then on was played every morning when it opened. By the late 1990s the building had fallen into disrepair, and in the early 2000s it was closed to the public. A regeneration project was announced in 2011. The building reopened as a dining and leisure centre at the end of July 2018.

Wellfield and South Wellfield is a village in Whitley Bay, England, between Monkseaton and Earsdon. It is a residential suburb built between the 1920s and 1950s. The older properties are towards Earsdon, the newer ones closer to Monkseaton. The older, South Wellfield end, had, until relatively recently, a post office, a co-operative store, and a hairdresser's shop, but all are now closed and converted into private dwelling houses. The old Post Office is still identified on local A-Z maps. What is probably the oldest house on the estate stands on the corner of Monkseaton Road, near the junction with Hesleyside Road, its sunken garden being marked as a small quarry in the 1895 "Earsdon, Shiremoor and Backworth" Ordnance Survey map. There is a newsagents, local shop and tanning salon in the centre alongside a children's park. Wellfield is a quiet residential estate with excellent first and secondary schools, including Wellfield Middle School and South Wellfield First School.

St Paul's Church is the parish church of Whitley Bay, North Tyneside, United Kingdom.The church was founded in 1864. The church's official title is St Paul's Church, Cullercoats but it is located near the centre of the town rather than the suburb of Cullercoats.

Whitley Bay Ice Rink is an ice rink located in Whitley Bay, Tyne and Wear, England and is the home of the Whitley Warriors ice hockey team. An additional team played out of the ice rink, the Newcastle Vipers, who are now disbanded. It is one of two permanent public ice rinks in the north east of England. A ten-pin bowling centre in the area upstairs which was added in the 1960s was closed in 2007. This area (as of 2019) is now home to a newly refurbished entertainment suite and conference facility.

Whitley Bay is a seaside town in the county of Tyne and Wear, North East England. Historically in Northumberland, it has been administered as part of the metropolitan borough of North Tyneside since 1974 and forms part of the wider Tyneside located around 10 miles east of Newcastle upon Tyne. The former village of Monkseaton is part of the town.
