Schruns railway station

Schruns is a municipality in the Montafon valley (altitude 690 meters), in the Bludenz district of the westernmost Austrian state of Vorarlberg. To the west is the famous Zimba mountain, often called the "Vorarlberger Matterhorn," which is very popular among climbers and hikers.

It serves the village of Tschagguns. The station is located on the Bludenz–Schruns railway and is owned and operated by the Montafonerbahn (MBS).

The Litz is a river of Vorarlberg, Austria. The Litz has a length of about 22 km (14 mi). It originates from a 7-fold spring near the Alpe Fresch (alpine pasture Fresch) on approximately 1,800 m (5,900 ft) above sea level. Another part of the water comes from the lake Langsee, which seeps subterraneously into the Litz. In the course of time the Litz created the valley Silbertal in a slightly bellied river course. The Gaflunerbach (length: 6.5 km (4.0 mi)) comes from the valley Gaflunertal and discharges into the Litz from the right. The Litz passes Silbertal, traverses the area of Bartholomäberg and of Schruns, where it finally discharges into the Ill.

Bartholomäberg is a municipality and a village in the district of Bludenz in the Austrian state of Vorarlberg.

The Partnach Formation is a Middle Triassic geologic formation in the eastern Northern Limestone Alps and Western Carpathians, within Austria and Slovakia, Central Europe. The formation consists of alternating grey and green marls and shales (Partnach shales) and grey limestones (Partnach Limestone), often brecciated, oncolithic and containing clay intraclasts. The formation is gradually evolving from the Reifling Formation. It is usually overlain by the Lunz/Reibl Formation or Wetterstein Formation. Sediments of the Partnach Formation were deposited in intrashelf basins. The rock unit was originally defined as Partnachschichten by Wilhelm von Gümbel in 1858. It preserves fossils dated to the Ladinian age of the Middle Triassic Epoch of the Triassic Period.

Montafon (German: [mɔntaˈfoːn] in local dialect: "Muntafu") is a 39 km long valley in the westernmost Austrian federal state of Vorarlberg. It is traversed by the river Ill (Vorarlberg) and extends from the city of Bludenz and the Verwall Alps in the north, to the Silvretta and Rätikon mountain range in the south. Piz Buin, at 3,312 meters, is the highest peak within the Silvretta mountain range and the highest peak in Vorarlberg. The Montafon region has a population of 16,421(2021).
