Freeland is an unincorporated community and census-designated place (CDP) on Whidbey Island in Island County, Washington, United States. At the time of the 2010 census the population was 7,812. The town received its name based on its origins as a socialist commune in the early 1900s: in the eyes of its founders, the land of the town was literally to be free for all people. Some of the first settlers were veterans of a prior experiment in socialism, the nearby Equality Colony.

Mutiny Bay is a bay in the U.S. state of Washington. Part of Puget Sound, Mutiny Bay is located in Island County near the southern end of Whidbey Island, northwest of Useless Bay and adjoining Admiralty Inlet. Mutiny Bay was named by the United States Coast Survey in 1855. No explanation was given for the choice of name.On September 4, 2022, a floatplane crashed into Mutiny Bay while operating a flight from Friday Harbor Seaplane Base to Renton Municipal Airport. There were no survivors among the 9 passengers and pilot on board.

Useless Bay is a bay in the U.S. state of Washington. Part of Puget Sound, Useless Bay is located in Island County near the southern end of Whidbey Island, between Cultus Bay and Mutiny Bay. Useless Bay was so named on account of frequent inclement weather.

On September 4, 2022, a DHC-3 Turbine Otter single-engine floatplane on a passenger flight from Friday Harbor to Renton, Washington, U.S., crashed into the waters of Mutiny Bay near Whidbey Island, killing all ten people on board. The plane was operated by West Isle Air doing business as Friday Harbor Seaplanes, a service owned by Northwest Seaplanes.

Bayview is an unincorporated community centered at the intersection of State Route 525 and Bayview Road on Whidbey Island in Island County, Washington, United States. It is approximately 5 miles (8 km) west of the town of Clinton, and 4 miles (6 km) south of the city of Langley. Bayview is a crossroads of commerce on the south end of the island, as it is centrally located, compared to the other three communities. As such, it is home to a hardware store, a craft store, a nursery, a grocery store, an alternative grocery store, and several restaurants. One gas station, a Mobil, sits by the highway. Bayview is also the home of the South Whidbey Seniors' Center, South Whidbey Fire Rescue, and Whidbey Telecom. Bayview Corner includes a collection of older buildings renovated in the early part of the 21st Century to house an art gallery, nursery, cafes and specialty shops. A farmers' market operates here during the summer months. The historic Bayview Community Hall is located just south of Bayview Corner. Built in 1927 on donated land with volunteer help, the hall is run as a nonprofit organization and is owned by the people living in the South Whidbey School District. Across Bayview Road from this area is a renovated Sears kit house. This house was originally built in Greenbank, and for approximately 90 years it occupied a prominent corner at Hwy 525 & Wonn Road on the Greenbank Farm, before being displaced by a highway re-alignment project. It was later renovated and moved to Bayview. The Bayview Alternative School is across Bayview Road from Bayview Corner. The building was formerly used as a K-12 school and a branch of Skagit Valley College. Just south of the commercial area on Bayview Road is one of Whidbey Island's off-leash dog parks, Marguerite Brons Memorial Off-Leash Park. Bayview is not to be confused with Bay View, located on the mainland in Skagit County.

Meerkerk Rhododendron Gardens (53 acres) are nonprofit gardens located at 3531 Meerkerk Lane, Greenbank, Washington. They are open daily; admission is $5.00 The gardens were founded by Ann and Max Meerkerk in the early 1960s on 13 acres (53,000 m2), and served as a site where they collected and hybridized rhododendrons. They gradually expanded the garden to 10 acres (40,000 m2) of rhododendrons surrounded by an additional 43 acres (170,000 m2) of woodlands. Ann Meerkerk left the gardens to the Seattle Rhododendron Society in 1979. Today the garden features more than 1,500 varieties of rhododendron species and hybrids.

South Whidbey State Park is a public recreation area consisting of 381 acres (154 ha) of old-growth forest and tidelands with 4,500 feet (1,400 m) of shoreline on Admiralty Inlet along the west shore of Whidbey Island in Island County, Washington. The state park contains many mature specimens of western red cedar, Douglas fir, Sitka spruce, and western hemlock, some of the largest on Whidbey Island, including a giant cedar over 500 years old.

Baby Island Heights is a small unincorporated community in Island County, Washington, United States. It is named after a small island offshore of the community commonly known as Baby Island. Most of the community is medium- to high-bank waterfront as it stretches along the shoreline of the Saratoga Passage.

Norwegian Point is low and rounding, about 0.2 mile northwest of Hansville, Washington in Kitsap County, Washington, located at the northern end of the Kitsap Peninsula, affording sweeping views of Admiralty Inlet, Whidbey Island, and Puget Sound. A conspicuous, privately owned lighthouse, Skunk Bay Lighthouse, is located 210 feet above the water about 1 mile west of Norwegian Point.

Hansville is an unincorporated community and census-designated place (CDP) in Kitsap County, Washington, United States. Its population was 3,858 as of the 2020 census. The coastal community is located at the northern end of the Kitsap Peninsula and is about 16 miles (26 km) northeast of Poulsbo, the nearest city.

Point No Point Light is an operational aid to navigation on the northeastern tip of the Kitsap Peninsula on the west side of Puget Sound, at Point No Point where Admiralty Inlet joins Puget Sound, near the small community of Hansville, Kitsap County, in the U.S. state of Washington. Point No Point Light is considered the oldest lighthouse on Puget Sound and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

Point No Point is an outcropping of land on the northeast point of the Kitsap Peninsula in Washington, the United States. It was the location of the signing of the Point No Point Treaty and is the site of the Point No Point Light. It was named by Charles Wilkes during the United States Exploring Expedition of Puget Sound in 1841. Wilkes gave the point its name because it appears much less of a promontory at close range than it does from a distance. Point No Point has been noted for its unusual place name.The marine climate ensures plenty of precipitation in winter and mild temperatures in summer. There are many productive habitats. The spit itself has sandy beaches with log jams, as well as some man-made structures for boating. Behind the beaches is a large mixed freshwater/saltwater marsh with a substantial shrub component. The waters surrounding the point react to swiftly running tides, attracting many marine bird species. And there is a somewhat sheltered bay as well.
