Staples Corner

The 1992 Staples Corner bombing occurred on 11 April 1992 when the Provisional IRA detonated a large van bomb near the Staples Corner junction in North West London, England.

Brent Cross West formerly Brent Cross South / Thameslink / Parkway is a railway station under construction on the Thameslink route on the Midland Main Line. It will serve Brent Cross and the northern parts of Cricklewood and Dollis Hill areas of north London and the proposal is part of the Brent Cross Cricklewood development, which also sees an investment to Cricklewood station further down the line. The station is set to open in 2022.

Oxgate Admiralty Citadel is the name given to a military bunker constructed between 1937 and 1940, for the Admiralty, on the corner of Edgware Road and Oxgate Lane, in north London. The citadel was designed to be an away-from-Whitehall base for admiralty operations, useful in the event of a need to evacuate the centre of London. The location was a mile from the Paddock, an alternate Cabinet War Room bunker for Winston Churchill's World War II government. The citadel comprises a three-storey building above ground (typical of government building vernacular), with an upper basement and a specially protected lower basement. It was used between 1939 and 1944, thereafter being given over to the Health & Safety Executive; nowadays it is in private hands.

Cricklewood sidings currently provides stabling for passenger trains, and is the site of a former steam shed and diesel traction maintenance depot located in Cricklewood, Greater London, England. It is situated beside the Midland Main Line, to the east of Cricklewood station.The depot code was CW.

Brent Cross Cricklewood is a new town centre development under construction in Hendon and Cricklewood, London, United Kingdom. The development is planned to cost around £4.5 billion to construct and will include 6,700 homes, workspace for 25,000 people, four parks, transport improvements and a 592,000 sq ft (55,000 m2) extension of Brent Cross Shopping Centre. The developers of the scheme are Hammerson and Standard Life. Construction was planned to start in 2018 and be completed in 2021–22, but in March 2018 a delay was announced to January 2019.In July 2018 it was reported that the shopping centre would be delayed indefinitely. In March 2019, the government granted over £300 million to Brent Council to deliver the new station and other infrastructure necessary for the development. In November 2019, the developers and the council agreed a new timetable in which the shopping centre expansion would come later in the development. Construction began in 2020, with the first residential buildings planned to complete in 2024.

The Coalition for a Sustainable Brent Cross Cricklewood was formed following the submission in March 2008 of a planning application to the London Borough of Barnet by developers of the Brent Cross Cricklewood scheme in the Brent Cross area of north London. The planning application area lies next to the border of Barnet with (on the other side of the A5 Edgware Road - the Roman road Watling Street) the London Borough of Brent.

Dollis Brook runs through the London Borough of Barnet in north London. It is a tributary of the River Brent, which is itself a tributary of the River Thames. The Dollis Valley Greenwalk follows almost all of Dollis Brook, apart from a short section at the beginning which passes through private land, and the London Loop follows it as far as Barnet Lane. The name Dollis is probably derived from the Middle English word 'dole', meaning the shares of land in the common field. Dollis Brook rises at two points, one on Mote End Farm and the other on the London Loop and Dollis Valley Greenwalk at TQ 21714 94551 – the latter only has water after heavy rain. The brook then flows through private land under Hendon Wood Lane. Its course is eastwards through Totteridge Fields, a Site of Metropolitan Importance, and then through fields and open spaces to King George V Playing Fields in Totteridge. The brook then turns southwards and forms the eastern boundary of Totteridge. It passes through Wyatts Farm Open Space and Brook Farm Open Space to Totteridge Lane near Totteridge and Whetstone Underground station, and then continues south through Woodside Park (where it merges with Folly Brook) and West Finchley, before passing under the Dollis Brook Viaduct which carries the Northern line between Finchley Central and Mill Hill East Underground stations. Until 1965 Dollis Brook formed the boundary between the municipal boroughs of Finchley and Hendon. Dollis Brook then passes under Dollis Road and through Windsor Open Space to the Great North Way (A1). Near Bridge Lane in Hendon it merges with Mutton Brook to form the River Brent. Upper Dollis Brook between Mill Hill and Woodside Park, including neighbouring open spaces, is a Site of Borough Importance for Nature Conservation, Grade I. It is too shaded for aquatic plants, but plants such as yellow iris and water-pepper grow along its banks and kingfishers, grey wagtails, and moorhens can be seen along the stream.Lower Dollis Brook is a Site of Borough Importance for Nature Conservation, Grade II. It starts at Woodside Park and includes Brent Park and the River Brent until it passes under the Northern line near Brent Cross Flyover. It is less ecologically rich than Upper Dollis Brook, but nevertheless forms a valuable green corridor through suburban areas.

Clarefield Park is a small park and Site of Local Importance for Nature Conservation in Brent Cross in the London Borough of Barnet.It was developed on former wasteland, and has mown grassland, a children's playground and sports facilities. There is access from Claremont Way. In October 2010, Barnet Council gave planning consent for the Brent Cross Cricklewood Planning Application which includes closure of the park and development of the area, but as of August 2019, the park is still open.

Welsh Harp railway station was built by the Midland Railway in 1870 on its extension to St. Pancras station.

Hendon Way is one of London's busiest roads. It connects Finchley Road to Watford Way. It passes through Hampstead and Hendon, and forms part of the A41 road. (London-Liverpool). It is a road that passes Staples Corner and meets the Watford Bypass.

Dollis Hill is an area in northwest London, which consists of the streets surrounding the 35 hectares (86 acres) Gladstone Park. It is served by a London Underground station, Dollis Hill, on the Jubilee line, providing good links to central London. It is in the London Borough of Brent, close to Willesden Green, Neasden and Cricklewood, and is in the postal districts of NW2 and NW10. The area is mainly residential (Edwardian terraced and 1920s/30s semi-detached houses) with a restaurant, greengrocer and convenience stores near the underground station. The Dollis Hill ward has the highest Irish population in London.Dollis Hill played a part in the Second World War as the code-breaking computer used at Bletchley Park was built at the Post Office Research Station in Dollis Hill and the rarely used alternative Cabinet War Room bunker for Winston Churchill's government was dug underground here.

Whitefield School is a secondary school and sixth form located in the London Borough of Barnet. In 2010, the school was in the top 1% of most improved schools in the country. Since then it has been in the top 1 or 2% of schools in the country for the value it adds to the expected progress of its students. Whitefield was one of the first schools in Barnet to convert to academy status in 2011, in order to use the freedoms granted by this status to further improve the remarkable academic performance of its students.
