Irving Park is a city park of about 16 acres (6.5 ha) in northeast Portland, in the U.S. state of Oregon. Located at Northeast 7th Avenue and Fremont Street in the Irvington neighborhood, the park is on land that was originally owned by William Irving, for whom the neighborhood was named. The Irvington Racetrack once occupied part of the land.Irving was a mid-19th century mariner who operated ships on the Columbia and Willamette rivers. Arriving in Oregon in 1849, he soon acquired a donation land claim. In 1858, he sold his steamship interests in Oregon and moved to British Columbia in Canada. His land claim, left to heirs, became the Irvington subdivision in 1887. Irving Street in Portland is also named for him.Park amenities include fields for baseball, softball, and soccer; courts for basketball, tennis, and volleyball; paved paths, picnic tables, a playground, a horseshoe pit, and an off-leash area for dogs. The park is open daily from 5 a.m. to midnight. Hours for the off-leash area are from 5 to 10 a.m. and 6 p.m. to midnight from June 15 through September 1. From September 2 through June 14, off-leash hours are from 5 to 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. to midnight.

The Otto and Verdell Rutherford House is a historic building in Portland, Oregon, United States. Otto Rutherford (1911–2000) and Verdell Burdine Rutherford (1913–2001) were leaders in the civil rights movement in Oregon, importantly as president (Otto, from 1952 to 1954) and secretary (Verdell, from the late 1940s through 1962) of the NAACP Portland branch. Their house became a center of meeting, organization, planning, and publishing in support of the African American community's struggle for equal rights. A notable success came with passage of the 1953 Oregon Public Accommodations Act, attributable in large measure to the Rutherfords' work.The house, built around 1905, was bought in 1923 by William H. and Lottie Rutherford, Otto's parents. It was located in the Albina district, the only place in Portland where the elder Rutherfords could purchase due to exclusionary redlining. Otto and Verdell Rutherford married and moved into the house in 1936. It was entered on the National Register of Historic Places in 2015.

The Seufert House, also known as the Mautz–Seufert House, is a historic residence in Portland, Oregon, United States. From 1914 to 1929, it was the Portland home of fishing and canning businessman Francis A. Seufert (1853–1929), who was an innovative leader in the upper Columbia River salmon industry at The Dalles. He pioneered use of the fish wheel to harvest fish, as well as the shipment of fresh, iced salmon to eastern markets. The house, built in 1913 in the Colonial Revival style, was the product of the Mautz Building and Investment Company, which built over fifty homes in the exclusive Irvington neighborhood. It was briefly occupied by Edmund J. Mautz prior to its sale to Francis Seufert.The house was entered on the National Register of Historic Places in 2006.

The John and Ellen Bowman House is a house located in northeast Portland, Oregon, United States. It was built in 1915–16 on six lots and was designed by Ellis F. Lawrence. The house is constructed mostly of concrete block covered with textured stucco and was estimated to cost $35,000.It is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

The Barnhart–Wright House is a historic house located in the Irvington neighborhood of Portland, Oregon, United States. It was built in 1913–1914 by general contractor Frederic E. Bowman, whose constructions shaped several neighborhoods in the city. It stands as one of the best-preserved and most expensive single-family homes in his body of work, and is an outstanding example of the use of Arts and Crafts architecture with Prairie School influences in an upper-class Portland home.The house was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1997.

Irvington is a neighborhood in the Northeast section of Portland, Oregon. According to the city's Office of Community and Civic Life, it consists of a rectangular area extending east to west from NE 7th Ave. to NE 26th Ave., and north to south from NE Fremont St. to NE Broadway. It borders the King, Sabin, and Alameda neighborhoods to the north; Alameda and Grant Park to the east; Sullivan's Gulch and the Lloyd District to the south; and Eliot to the west. (The Sabin and Alameda neighborhoods extend into the northeastern part of Irvington, creating two areas of overlap.) The neighborhood is distinguished by a number of large stately homes, often positioned on multiple or oversized lots. The Irvington Community Association funds its activities by holding a well-attended tour of these homes each spring.

Owner Dan Henderson opened the bar in northeast Portland's King neighborhood in June 2023, in the space that previously housed Local Lounge. Back 2 Earth hosts a variety of activities and events such as dance parties, drag shows, karaoke, and open mics, and has a collection of board games and tabletop role-playing games.
