Bras Basah Complex

Bras Basah (Chinese: 百胜, Tamil: பிராஸ்) is a district located in the Museum Planning Area of the Central Area of Singapore. Bras Basah (Modern Spelling: Beras Basah) means "wet rice" in Malay – beras means harvested rice with husk removed, and basah means wet. The precinct houses several landmarks including Fairmont Singapore, Raffles Hotel, the Singapore Art Museum, the Cathedral of the Good Shepherd and the Singapore Management University. A Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) station, Bras Basah MRT station, is on the Circle line.

The Mint Museum of Toys simplified Chinese: 玩具博物馆; Tamil: பொம்மைகளின் அரும்பொருளகம்; traditional Chinese: 玩具博物館 is a purpose-built museum showing a private collection of vintage toys. It was officially opened on March 5, 2007, and officiated by the Minister for Foreign Affairs, Mr George Yeo. The museum is located at 26 Seah Street, in the Arts & Heritage district of Singapore. MINT is an acronym for "Moment of Imagination and Nostalgia with Toys".

The Public Service Commission (PSC) has a constitutional role to appoint, confirm, promote, transfer, dismiss and exercise disciplinary control over public officers in Singapore. It is constituted under Part IX of the Constitution of Singapore. The PSC also retains two key non-constitutional roles. It considers the suitability of candidates for appointment as chief executive officers of statutory boards; it is also responsible for the planning and administration of scholarships provided by the Government of Singapore. Members are appointed by the president, in consultation with the prime minister.

The National Library, Singapore is the flagship national library of Singapore. A subsidiary of the National Library Board (NLB), it is located on an 11,304–square metre site in Victoria Street within the Downtown Core. It is the country's largest public library.The library has regional branches throughout the city-state such as in Jurong, Tampines and Woodlands as well as affiliations with academic and professional libraries. The branch libraries are open to the general public and consist of circulating libraries. The National Library also consists of research libraries, which are also open to the general public.

Singapore has had two tramway networks forming part of its public transport arrangements. Both networks were relatively unsuccessful and short lived.

Victoria Street (Chinese: 维多利亚街) is a major two-way road in Singapore. It links Kallang Road in the northeast with Hill Street in the southwest. En route, Victoria Street passes through the planning areas of Kallang, Rochor, Downtown Core and Museum.

Caldwell House was a historical building designed and built by George Drumgoole Coleman from 1840 to 1841 in Singapore. It was the oldest building of the CHIJMES complex since 1854. It currently serves as a venue known as the Alcove at Caldwell House for wedding functions.

Raffles Hotel is a colonial-style luxury hotel in Singapore. It was established by Armenian hoteliers, the Sarkies Brothers, in 1887. The hotel was named after British statesman Sir Thomas Stamford Raffles, the founder of modern Singapore.It is the flagship property of Raffles Hotels & Resorts, and is managed by AccorHotels after Accor acquired FRHI Hotels & Resorts. The hotel is owned by Qatar-based, government-owned Katara Hospitality. The hotel commenced Phase 3 of a three-phase restoration programme on 13 December 2017 and reopened in August 2019 following the completion of the renovation.

The China Cultural Centre (Chinese: 中国文化中心) is a cultural center about China in Central Area, Singapore.

The National Design Centre of Singapore is located in the arts, cultural, learning and entertainment district of Bras Basah–Bugis. The complex is a focal point for all things design in Singapore and a space where designers and businesses can exhibit their products, exchange ideas, and even work. It also invites the public to learn about design through its exhibitions and programmes. The centre has two galleries and houses three design labs – IDA Labs, the Materials Design Lab, and the Prototyping Lab.The NDC occupies the 120-year-old premises of the former St Anthony's Convent. The development of the NDC involved the restoration and adaptive reuse of the conserved buildings, consisting of three pre–World War II Art Deco blocks and one post-war modern block. The NDC is also home to the DesignSingapore Council, which was formed in 2003 as the national agency for design under the Economic Development Board. The Council develops the design sector, and helps Singapore to use design for innovation and growth, making lives better.

SAM at 8Q is the annexe of Singapore Art Museum - Singapore's contemporary art museum. Located at the heart of the city, it derives its name from the museum's location at No. 8 Queen Street near Bras Basah Road. SAM at 8Q is also approximately 88 steps away from Singapore Art Museum.

Waterloo Street is a two-way street located in the Central Area of Singapore, running from Rochor Road to Bras Basah Road. It traverses the planning areas of Rochor and Museum. Waterloo Street is home to a number of prominent landmarks, including the Kwan Im Thong Hood Cho Temple, the Maghain Aboth Synagogue, Sculpture Square and the Sri Krishnan Temple. The synagogue, established in 1878, is the oldest in Singapore and was built by the local Jewish community.
