Victoria Street, Singapore

The National Library, Singapore is the flagship national library of Singapore. A subsidiary of the National Library Board (NLB), it is located on an 11,304–square metre site in Victoria Street within the Downtown Core. It is the country's largest public library.The library has regional branches throughout the city-state such as in Jurong, Tampines and Woodlands as well as affiliations with academic and professional libraries. The branch libraries are open to the general public and consist of circulating libraries. The National Library also consists of research libraries, which are also open to the general public.

Orchard Gateway (stylized as orchardgateway) is a shopping mall in Orchard Road, Singapore, connecting Orchard Central and 313@Somerset together next to Somerset MRT station. The mall was meant to be completed in November 2013, but was delayed and officially opened on 26 April 2014. It was built on the site of the former Specialists Shopping Centre and Orchard Emerald. The mall is part of an integrated development which includes a hotel and an office tower. The hotel is built above the mall and the office tower is built above orchardgateway@emerald, another shopping mall located opposite Orchard Gateway. The hotel consists of 500 rooms and is linked to the office tower by a glass tubular overhead bridge.

Bugis+ (pronounced as Bugis Plus), formerly Iluma, is a 10-story shopping mall located 5 minutes from Bugis MRT station. It is located within the Bugis district of Singapore and opened on 28 March 2009.

library@orchard (Chinese: 乌节图书馆) is a public library under the National Library Board (NLB) of Singapore. library@orchard was first opened by Lee Yock Suan, Minister for Information and the Arts, on 21 October 1999 and located on Level 5 of Ngee Ann City on Orchard Road, in the Central Area of Singapore. It was closed on 30 November 2007 and reopened on 23 October 2014 at Levels 3 and 4 of Orchard Gateway on Orchard Road by Yaacob Ibrahim, Minister for Communications and Information, next to Somerset MRT station.

The National Design Centre of Singapore is located in the arts, cultural, learning and entertainment district of Bras Basah–Bugis. The complex is a focal point for all things design in Singapore and a space where designers and businesses can exhibit their products, exchange ideas, and even work. It also invites the public to learn about design through its exhibitions and programmes. The centre has two galleries and houses three design labs – IDA Labs, the Materials Design Lab, and the Prototyping Lab.The NDC occupies the 120-year-old premises of the former St Anthony's Convent. The development of the NDC involved the restoration and adaptive reuse of the conserved buildings, consisting of three pre–World War II Art Deco blocks and one post-war modern block. The NDC is also home to the DesignSingapore Council, which was formed in 2003 as the national agency for design under the Economic Development Board. The Council develops the design sector, and helps Singapore to use design for innovation and growth, making lives better.

Bras Basah (Chinese: 百胜, Tamil: பிராஸ்) is a district located in the Museum Planning Area of the Central Area of Singapore. Bras Basah (Modern Spelling: Beras Basah) means "wet rice" in Malay – beras means harvested rice with husk removed, and basah means wet. The precinct houses several landmarks including Fairmont Singapore, Raffles Hotel, the Singapore Art Museum, the Cathedral of the Good Shepherd and the Singapore Management University. A Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) station, Bras Basah MRT station, is on the Circle line.

Stamford Arts Centre is an arts centre on Waterloo Street in downtown Singapore. The building previously served as the Japanese National School, the former premises of the Gan Eng Seng School, the Stamford Girls' School and the Stamford Primary School.

The China Cultural Centre (Chinese: 中国文化中心) is a cultural center about China in Central Area, Singapore.

Lavender is a subzone within the planning area of Kallang, Singapore, as defined by the Urban Redevelopment Authority (URA). Lavender is composed of an area bounded by Tessensohn Road in the north; Balestier Road, Lavender Street and Crawford Street in the east; the Rochor River and Rochor Canal in the south; as well as Syed Alwi Road, Serangoon Road and Rangoon Road in the west.Lavender is largely commercial, even though several blocks of public housing provided by the Housing and Development Board (HDB) exist at Jellicoe Road and French Road. Notable places in this subzone include Jalan Besar Stadium, Jalan Besar Swimming Complex, Jalan Besar Community Club, the series of historic shophouses along Jalan Besar, the headquarters of People's Association, Immigration and Checkpoints Authority (ICA) Building, Sri Srinivasa Perumal Temple, Mustafa Centre, Umar Pulavar Tamil Language Centre and City Square Mall. In addition, the New World Amusement Park once stood in this area. The district has not changed a lot in a city known for its frenetic urban planning, and as a source puts it, "entering Lavender is like entering Singapore in the late 1980s", where old public housing is occupied by an elderly community, with small automotive shops, hardware resellers and temples. A trend of gentrification began in around 2014, mainly along Jalan Besar. Parts of the Little India ethnic neighbourhood extends into this area. There are now many small coffee shops and music studios in this rather vintage-looking district. Lavender MRT station and Farrer Park MRT station serve Lavender subzone.

The Mint Museum of Toys simplified Chinese: 玩具博物馆; Tamil: பொம்மைகளின் அரும்பொருளகம்; traditional Chinese: 玩具博物館 is a purpose-built museum showing a private collection of vintage toys. It was officially opened on March 5, 2007, and officiated by the Minister for Foreign Affairs, Mr George Yeo. The museum is located at 26 Seah Street, in the Arts & Heritage district of Singapore. MINT is an acronym for "Moment of Imagination and Nostalgia with Toys".

Kwan Im Thong Hood Cho Temple (Chinese: 觀音堂佛祖廟; pinyin: Guānyīn Táng Fózǔ Miào) is a traditional Chinese temple situated at 178 Waterloo Street in Singapore. The temple is of significance to the Buddhist community among Chinese Singaporeans, and is believed to bring worshippers good luck after praying to the Kuan Yin (觀世音菩薩), or Avalokiteśvara, the Goddess of Mercy. The temple is also involved in charity work, contributing to several health and educational organisations.The Kwan Im Temple and the nearby Sri Krishnan Temple are known for having evolved a social practice termed "cross-worshipping", where many devotees of either temple also worship at the other. This practice is commonly seen as a microcosm of Singapore's multi-religious society.

Bugis MRT station is an underground Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) interchange station on the East West line and Downtown line in Bugis, Singapore. Located under the junction of Rochor Road and Victoria Street, the station is close to Bugis Junction, Raffles Hospital and the National Library. Built as part of the initial MRT system, the station opened in November 1989 as part of the MRT network's eastern line, while the station's Downtown line platforms were opened in December 2013.
