Folsom Powerhouse Station A is a historical building in Sacramento, California. The Folsom Powerhouse Station is a California Historical Landmark No. 633.2 listed on March 3, 1958. Station A was constructed by the Sacramento Electric Power and Light Company in 1894. Folsom Powerhouse Station A is located at the northeast corner of 6th and H Streets. Folsom Powerhouse Station A was the first electricity distribution site for Sacramento. The electricity came from Folsom Powerhouse, California Historical Landmark No. 633.0. The Folsom Powerhouse Station A started operates on July 13, 1895. With the power, Folsom Powerhouse Station A was able run the first overhead wire streetcar system not just Sacramento, but the nearby California Central Valley. Folsom Powerhouse Station A, outputted alternating current (AC) produced by the Folsom Powerhouse hydroelectric power station. This AC system was one of the first AC system in the United States, as at the time other systems were DC current.

The Sacramento County Jail is one of the county jails for the Sacramento County area of the US State of California, serviced by the Sacramento County Sheriff's Department. It is located on 651 I Street, approximately 100 meters from Downtown Commons. Completed in 1989, the jail complex includes the Lorenzo Patiño Hall of Justice of the Sacramento County Superior Court. The jail replaces the Sacramento County Sheriff's Jail, formerly located at 620 I Street, which was demolished after the completion of this complex in 1989.The jail has been operating under a federal consent decree since 1993.

The Robert T. Matsui United States Courthouse is home to the Sacramento Division of the United States District Court for the Eastern District of California. It is located at 500 I Street, Sacramento, CA. The building is named for the late congressman Bob Matsui.

Sacramento First Courthouse also, Former California State Capitol site, is historical site in Sacramento, California. The Courthouse was also the first and second California State Capitol. The site is California Historical Landmark No. 869, registered on January 11, 1974. At the northwest corner of 7th Street and I Street, 651 I Street, Sacramento was a building that served as California's State Capitol. The first period was January 16, 1852 to May 4, 1852, and the second period was from March 1, 1854, to May 15, 1854, with the California State Legislature third and fifth sessions. The 651 I Street building was the Sacramento County courthouse. The site of former California State Capitol - Sacramento County courthouse is now the Main Sacramento County Jail built in 1989. A California Historical marker was place at the site in 2007 by California State Parks working the Sacramento Trust for Historic Preservation.

Sacramento First Congregational Church, (Pioneer Congregational Church) was the first church in Sacramento, California founded in 1849. The site of the First Congregational Church building is a California Historical Landmark No. 612 listed on May 22, 1957. The first church in Sacramento was founded in 1849 by Rev. Joseph A. Benton. Benton was the pastor from 1849 to 1863. The Church building was at 915 6th Street, built in 1854. A cornerstone ceremony was held on September 21, 1854. Before the church building was built the Church used a small one-room schoolhouse on the northwest corner of I and 3rd Streets, 303 I Street, in Old Sacramento. The attendees at the founding were mostly Swiss and German settlers of Sutter's Fort and New Helvetia. The church grew with the California Gold Rush pioneers coming to California. The site is now an office building on L Street. In 1926 Pioneer Congregational Church built a new church building, its third building, at 2700 L street, that is still in used.

The Saint Andrews African Methodist Episcopal Church, is an African Methodist Episcopal Church founded in 1850, and is located in Sacramento, California. It was the first African American church in California; and the first A.M.E. Church on the West Coast of the United States. It was originally located at 715 Seventh Street, which is marked by a historical plaque. This church is still active, and is presently located at 2131 Eighth Street in Sacramento. It is listed as a California Historical Landmark (number 1013) since May 5, 1994. It was formerly known as the Colored Methodist Episcopal Church, and the Bethel African Methodist Episcopal Church.

China Slough (also called: Sutter Slough, China Lake, Sutter Lake, Sacramento Chinatown, Sacramento Chinadom, Old Sacramento Chinatown, Yee Fow), is historical site in Sacramento, California. The site of the former China Slough is California Historical Landmark No. 594, registered on May 22, 1957. The site of California Historical Landmark China Slough is the northeast corner of 4th Street and I Street in Sacramento at about 401 I Street. Before the China Slough was filled in, the waterway ran from 3rd Street to 5th Streets to north of I Street in Sacramento. The site became the Central Pacific Railroad Sacramento station built in 1910. The 1910 station had a wooden Trestle bridge built over the China Slough. A new depot was built nearby, the Sacramento Valley Station in 1926 and is now operated by Amtrak. The China Slough ran almost where the current Amtrak train tracks run today.

Merchants National Bank of Sacramento is a historic building located in Sacramento, California constructed in 1921 in the later Classical Revival style. The bank was purchased in 2018 for $37 million by Bank of Commerce Holdings. At the time, it was the oldest independent bank in Sacramento. The building is designed in a more transitional style from earlier Classical Revival architecture, it evolves towards modernism, where the classical detailing is abstracted and made minimal.

Sacramento Valley Station is an Amtrak railway station in the city of Sacramento, California, at 401 I Street on the corner of Fifth Street. It is the seventh busiest Amtrak station in the country, and the second busiest in the Western United States with thousands of riders a day and over a million passengers per year. Today, it is served by 38 daily Amtrak and Amtrak California trains and many Amtrak Thruway Motorcoaches. It is also the western terminus of the Sacramento RT Gold Line light rail system and the Route 30 bus serving Sacramento State University.

Sacramento Public Library is a public library system in Sacramento, California. With nearly 2 million items, it is the fourth largest library system in California.

The Sacramento City Library, also known as Central Branch, is part of the Sacramento Public Library system, and faces I Street in Sacramento, California near Sacramento City Hall.

Downtown Commons (or DOCO), formerly known as Sacramento Downtown Plaza, Westfield (Shoppingtown) Downtown Plaza and Downtown Plaza, is a two-level outdoor mixed-use entertainment and shopping complex operated by JMA Ventures, LLC, located along the alignment of K Street (also known as David J. Stern Walk between 5th and 7th Streets) in downtown Sacramento, California, United States, near the State Capitol building. The complex is bordered by J Street to the north, L Street to the south, 7th Street to the east and 4th Street to the west. Downtown Commons' previous format was a mainly two-level outdoor shopping mall commonly known as Downtown Plaza, despite numerous official name changes over the years. The majority of the site has been redeveloped, centering on the Golden 1 Center, home of the NBA's Sacramento Kings. The section between 5th and 7th Streets was demolished in 2014 to make room for the Golden 1 Center, as well as The Sawyer, a 250-room boutique hotel operated by Kimpton Hotels immediately north of the arena site. The remaining standing section between 4th and 5th Streets was also redeveloped a few years later in association with the arena project.
