The Sid Ahmed Ghlam case (French: Affaire Sid Ahmed Ghlam) concerns the April 2015 murder of Aurélie Châtelain and planning of an Islamic terrorist attack against a church in Villejuif, France, by an Algerian national, Sid Ahmed Ghlam. In November 2020, he was sentenced to life in prison by a Paris court. This sentence was upheld on appeal in October 2021. Ghlam had made journeys to Syria in October 2014 and February 2015. There, on at least one occasion he had met Abdelhamid Abaaoud, one of the terrorists who perpetrated the November 2015 Paris attacks.

Camille Loiseau, the Doyenne de France from March 26, 2005 to August 12, 2006, died at the Hôpital Paul-Brousse.

The Fort de Bicêtre is a military structure built between 1841 and 1845 during the reign of Louis-Philippe during a time of tension between France and England, in the Paris suburb of Kremlin-Bicêtre. The fort is part of the Thiers Wall fortifications of Paris, built under a program of defensive works initiated by Adolphe Thiers. The fort served as a prison for those involved in the French coup of 1851. Occupied by the Prussians in 1871, the fort was briefly occupied by communards during the Paris Commune. After 1874, under the direction of General Raymond Adolphe Séré de Rivières, the ring of Thiers fortifications was reinforced by a second ring of forts, reflecting the increased range of artillery during the intervening years. The Fort de Bicêtre was not modernized at this time, since it was considered too close to Paris to be useful. From 1940 to 1944 the fort was occupied by German troops. After World War II the fort remained a military post, successively accommodating an artillery unit, a Marine infantry battalion, and from 1946 a military radio facility.

Hôpital Bicêtre (French: [ɔʃ] (listen)) is a future station on line 14 of the Paris Métro. It is located in the commune of Kremlin-Bicêtre in the department of Val-de-Marne, near the commune of Gentilly. It is 800 metres away from Bicêtre Hospital. It is currently slated to open by summer 2024, in time for the Paris Olympics as part of the southern extension of line 14 from Maison Blanche to Aéroport d'Orly.
