Dowles Church

Dowles Brook flows through the heart of the Wyre Forest, into the former civil parish of Dowles and into the River Severn.

Dowles is a hamlet in the civil parish of Upper Arley, in the Wyre Forest district, in the county of Worcestershire, England. It is about 3 miles from the town of Kidderminster. The parish was divided into two parts by the Severn.

Northwood Halt is an unstaffed request stop on the Severn Valley Railway in Worcestershire, situated a little to the north of Bewdley on the outskirts of the Wyre Forest at the north end of North Wood. There is an ungated level crossing just to the south of the single platform. It is the only surviving original halt on the line.

Bewdley ( pronunciation) is a town and civil parish in the Wyre Forest District in Worcestershire, England on the banks of the River Severn. It is in the Severn Valley three miles (five kilometres) west of Kidderminster and 22 miles (35 km) southwest of Birmingham. It lies on the River Severn, at the gateway of the Wyre Forest national nature reserve, and at the time of the 2011 census had a population of 9,470. Bewdley is a popular tourist destination and is known for the Bewdley Bridge, designed by Thomas Telford, and the well preserved Georgian riverside.

Tickenhill Palace (also known as Tickenhill House or Tickenhall Manor) is a historic building in Bewdley, Worcestershire, England. It is a grade II* listed building.As a Tudor palace, it was the site of the marriage by proxy of Arthur, Prince of Wales to Catherine of Aragon in 1499. It was also the birthplace of the poet Mary Sidney. The park which surrounds the manor house was established in the 14th century. The palace served as the mediaeval council house of the Lords President of the Marches of Wales. It also served as a royal residence.The palace was remodelled in 1738 and eventually served as a 'general promenade' for the public by the early 19th century.

Bewdley Bridge is a three-span masonry arch bridge over the River Severn at Bewdley, Worcestershire, designed by civil engineer Thomas Telford. The two side spans are each 52 feet (16 m), with the central span 60 feet (18 m). The central arch rises 18 feet (5.5 m). Smaller flood arches on the bank bridge the towpath. The bridge is 27 feet (8.2 m) wide.

The Bewdley School is a senior school and sixth form in Bewdley, serving north-west Worcestershire, England. Its campus is very close to the River Severn and lies on the border of the Wyre Forest national nature reserve. Bewdley is an educational research partner of the University of Worcester and University of Birmingham and is recognised for its focus on international and cultural education. In 2019, Bewdley hosted the Global Happiness Conference in partnership with the British Council. The Bewdley School has close ties with the nearby Bewdley Rowing Club established in 1877.In 2021, The Bewdley School became the founding member of The Bewdley School Foundation, in partnership with Bewdley Civic Society and Bewdley Festival. The purpose of the Foundation is to further develop the campus and wider school infrastructure, for the benefit of both the school and community. In March 2023, plans were announced to build a new 500-seat performing arts theatre at the school, as well as an extension of the Bewdley Sports Centre.
