Kassel-Calden Circuit

Kassel Airport (formerly Kassel-Calden Airport, German Flughafen Kassel) (IATA: KSF, ICAO: EDVK) is a minor international airport serving the German city of Kassel in the state of Hesse. It is located 1.9 km (1.2 mi) west of Calden, 16.7 km (10.4 mi) northwest of Kassel and is mainly used for business and general aviation. There is also a flight school, an ultralight flying school, and a parachuting school based on site.

The Battle of Wilhelmsthal (sometimes written as the Battle of Wilhelmstadt) was fought on 24 June 1762 during the Seven Years' War between the allied forces of Britain, Prussia, Hanover, Brunswick and Hesse under the command of the Duke of Brunswick against France. Once again, the French threatened Hanover, so the Allies manoeuvered around the French, surrounded the invasion force, and forced them to retreat. It was the last major action fought by Brunswick's force before the Peace of Paris brought an end to the war.

Being close to the city of Kassel, most people who live in Weimar are commuters who work in the city of Kassel. There are no large-scale firms in Weimar and in Ahnatal in general. Its main sight is the Bühl, a former pit which was left open after a source leaked into it. It is now being used as a swimming pool, and in the nearby area, there are sports and recreational facilities. The education system consists of a primary school (Helfensteinschule) which pupils can attend until they reach the sixth grade after which they have to go to a secondary school. The "Helfensteinschule" is attended also by pupils from Kammerberg.
