Bucklesham Mill River

Ramsholt Cliff is a 2.1-hectare (5.2-acre) geological Site of Special Scientific Interest north-west of Ramsholt in Suffolk. It is a Geological Conservation Review site, and it is in the Suffolk Coast and Heaths Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.This site is very important historically because it was the basis for the distinction of the Pliocene Coralline Crag Formation as a new stratigraphical division by the nineteenth-century geologist, Edward Charlesworth. The well preserved fossils include several unusual species.Most of this steeply sloping site on the bank of the River Deben is inaccessible, but a footpath runs along the top and a track leads to a small area of bank.

Deben Estuary is a 981.1-hectare (2,424-acre) biological Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI) covering the River Deben and its banks 12 kilometres (7.5 miles) from its mouth north of Felixstowe to Woodbridge in Suffolk. It is a Ramsar internationally important wetland site and a Special Protection Area under the European Union Directive on the Conservation of Wild Birds. It is also in the Suffolk Coast and Heaths Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. It partly overlaps two geological SSSIs, Ferry Cliff, Sutton and Ramsholt Cliff.The site has been designated an SSSI for its overwintering waders and wildfowl, and for its diverse saltmarshes. It has internationally important overwintering redshanks and nationally important numbers of dark-bellied brent geese, shelducks and black-tailed godwits. The estuary also has three nationally rare plants and a nationally rare mollusc.

Hemley is a village and a civil parish in the East Suffolk district, in the English county of Suffolk. It is located near the River Deben. Nearby settlements include the large town of Ipswich and the villages of Waldringfield and Newbourne. In 2001 the population of the civil parish of Hemley was 66. At the 2011 Census the population of the village remained less than 100 and was included in the civil parish of Newbourne All Saints' parish church dates from the 14th century and is a Grade II* listed building.

In 2001 the parish had a population of 32. The parish church of All Saints is one of 38 surviving round-tower churches in Suffolk and is a Grade II* listed building.The village economy revolves around the pub next to the river dock.Ramsholt was a historic fishing town before Felixstowe docks.

Rockhall Wood Pit, Sutton is a 5.3-hectare (13-acre) geological Site of Special Scientific Interest west of Shottisham in Suffolk. It is a Geological Conservation Review site both for its quaternary and neogene deposits.This site has excellent exposures of the Pliocene Coralline Crag Formation, with a vertical sequence of diagenetic changes and rich fossil fauna. It is described by Natural England as probably the most important Pliocene site in Britain.This site is private land, but part has been converted by Geo Suffolk into a 'Pliocene Forest', with trees similar to ones which would have grown in Suffolk four million years ago.

Falkenham is a village and a civil parish in the East Suffolk district, in the English county of Suffolk, near the village of Kirton and the towns of Ipswich and Felixstowe. The population of the civil parish as of the 2011 census was 170.

Kirton is a village and a civil parish in the shire county of Suffolk, England, situated off the A14 road, about 4.5 km (2.8 mi) from Felixstowe and around 10 km (6.2 mi) from Ipswich. The closest train station to Kirton is Trimley. According to the 2011 census, Kirton had a population of 1,146. It is located between the River Deben and the River Orwell. The village of Kirton covers a total area of 8.3 km2 (3.2 sq mi). As the county of Suffolk lacks quarries, many of the buildings are made from flint, clay and timber.Kirton and Falkenham share the Parish Council, the school, the Village Hall, and most of the organisations. Kirton has a church and it also has access to a primary school.

It is situated on the bank of the River Deben within the Suffolk Coast and Heaths Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, 4 miles (6.4 km) south of the town of Woodbridge and 8 miles (12.9 km) east of the county town of Ipswich. All Saints' Church dates from the 14th century. Restored in the 19th century, it is a grade II* listed building.Waldringfield Heath, between the village and Martlesham on the edge of Ipswich, is the site of Waldringfield Golf Club.It also has a yacht club called Waldringfield Yacht Club. A probable Early Pliocene macaque molar from the Red Crag Formation in Waldringfield, represents one of the oldest and northernmost records of the genus in Europe reported to date.

Newbourne is a village and civil parish in the East Suffolk district of Suffolk, England. It lies on the peninsula between the River Orwell and the River Deben, to the east of Ipswich and south of Woodbridge.

Newbourne Springs is a 15.7-hectare (39-acre) biological Site of Special Scientific Interest in Newbourne in Suffolk. It is owned by Anglian Water and managed by the Suffolk Wildlife Trust.Most of this site is a narrow valley with a fast-flowing stream with alder carr and fen. Drier and more acidic soils have grassland, woodland, scrub and bracken heath. The site is actively managed, producing diverse flora and many breeding and migratory birds such as treecreepers, nuthatches and sedge warblers.There is access from Woodbridge Road, which goes through the site.

Shottisham is a village and civil parish in the East Suffolk district, in the county of Suffolk. It lies in the Wilford Hundred, about four and a half miles south-east of Woodbridge, between the parishes of Sutton, Alderton, Ramsholt and Hollesley, in the Bawdsey peninsula. About three miles from the coast at Hollesley Bay and Shingle Street, the village street overlooks a slight hollow of meads and copses at the road crossing of Shottisham Creek, a tributary brook of the river Deben.
