The Olsen Nauen Bell Foundry (Norwegian: Olsen Nauen Klokkestøperi) is a Norwegian bell foundry located in the municipality of Tønsberg. The foundry was established in 1844 by Ole Olsen, and it is headed today by the sixth generation of the Olsen Nauen family. The company is based at the Nauen farm in Sem and is Norway's only bell foundry.The Olsen Nauen Bell Foundry produces glockenspiels, church bells, ship's bells, farm bells, and other products from bell metal, which is a specific alloy of copper and tin. The company has supplied bells to most Norwegian churches. Part of its production is exported, some to mission churches and also to other clients. Examples of carillons cast by Olsen Nauen include the ones in Oslo City Hall, Oslo Cathedral, Sem Town Hall in Tønsberg, and Trinity Church in Arendal. The company has also produced a 52-bell travelling carillon, which is the world's largest.The Nauen farm also has a small museum with a display of old and new bells. Among other items, it includes the old bell from Fon Church.The current head of the company is Morten Olsen-Nauen. In 2007, his father Ole Christian Olsen Nauen was awarded the King's Medal of Merit in gold for his activity.

Jarlsberg Travbane is a harness racing track located in Tønsberg, Norway. The course is 1,000 meters (3,300 ft). Owned by Norwegian Trotting Association, its tote betting is handled by Norsk Rikstoto. The venue opened in 1935.

Jarlsberg Manor (Norwegian: Jarlsberg Hovedgård) is a manor three kilometres northwest of the centre of the town of Tønsberg in Vestfold og Telemark, Norway. It has traditionally been the residence of members of the Wedel-Jarlsberg family and the Count and Countess of Jarlsberg.

Barkåker is a village in the municipality of Tønsberg, Norway. Its population is 1,374.

Berg interneringsleir (Berg internment camp) was a concentration camp near Tønsberg in Norway that served as an internment and transit center for political prisoners and Jews during the Nazi occupation of Norway.

Vear is a village in Vestfold, Norway, located in the municipality of Tønsberg. It had a population of 3,520 in 2005. Vear lies near the border between Stokke (Sandefjord) and Tønsberg. It lies along Norwegian County Road 303 between Sandefjord and Tønsberg. It has a total area, including land- and water, of 3.55 km2. It is located 6 km south of Tønsberg, and 20 km north of Sandefjord city centre. The combined populations of Vear, Hognes, Bjelland, and Smørberg is 3,800 people as of 2015.Although Stokke municipality decided to merge into Sandefjord on January 1, 2017, Vear residents decided to leave Stokke in order to merge into neighboring Tønsberg. Turnout for the ballot was big with 72.9 percent of eligible voters. 63.8 percent of Vear residents decided to transfer to Tønsberg, while 34.1 percent preferred to follow Stokke into Sandefjord municipality. Vear is home to 2,500 residents, which made up 22 percent of Stokke's total population prior to the merge.The village was for long straddling the Tønsberg-Stokke border, and certain parts of town were located in Tønsberg rather than in Stokke. Stokke established an elementary- and middle school at Vear in 1974, while Tønsberg established an elementary school at Hogsnes fifteen years later, less than 900 meters from the previous school. Vear and neighboring Hogsnes have grown together and make up one residential community.

Sem is a former municipality in Vestfold county, Norway. The 102-square-kilometre (39 sq mi) municipality existed from 1838 until its dissolution in 1988. The area is now part of Tønsberg Municipality. The administrative centre was the village of Semsbyen. Other villages in Sem included Barkåker, Eik, Husvik, Husøy, Ringshaug, and Tolvsrød.

The Jarlsberg Tunnel (Norwegian: Jarlsbergtunnelen) is a 1,750-meter (1.09 mi) long double track railway tunnel which runs through Frodeåsen in Tønsberg, Norway. Located on the Vestfold Line, the tunnel was built as part of the 7.8-kilometer (4.8 mi) double-track high-speed segment from Barkåker to Tønsberg. It is located just north of Tønsberg Station and runs between Frodegata and Tomsbakken. Most of the tunnel is blasted, although 223 meters (732 ft) is in a concrete culvert. Planning of the tunnel started in the late 1990s. Several railway interest groups advised against building the isolated segment of upgraded track without a complete plan for upgrading the entire line. Construction started in April 2009 and the new section and the tunnel opened on 7 November 2011. It was the fourth segment of the Vestfold Line to be upgraded.

Sem is a village in Tønsberg in Vestfold county, Norway. Sem was a former municipality in Vestfold. The parish of Sæm was established as a municipality January 1, 1838 (see formannskapsdistrikt). According to the 1835 census the municipality had a population of 3,590. On 1 January 1965 the district Stang with 126 inhabitants was incorporated into the former municipality of Borre. On 1 January 1988 the rest was incorporated into the municipality of Tønsberg. Prior to the merger Sem was about three times the size of Tønsberg, which had a population of 21,948. The village of Sem has a population of 1,981, of which 42 people live within the border of the neighboring municipality Stokke. The village is situated five kilometers west of the city of Tønsberg. Originally the municipality and the parish were named after the historic Sem Manor (Sem hovedgård). During the Middle Ages, Sem Manor was a royal and feudal overlord residence at the site where Jarlsberg Manor is located today. King Harald Fairhair chose to install his son Bjorn Farmann as the master of the estate. It was here that Bjorn Farmann was killed by Eric Bloodaxe in 927. In 1673, Peder Schumacher Griffenfeld took over the property which until then had belonged to the King of Denmark. Griffenfeldt named the farm Griffenfeldgård, but three years later it was renamed Jarlsberg Manor (Jarlsberg Hovedgård). In 1682 the buildings on Jarlsberg burned and new buildings of stone were built by the new owner, the Danish-Norwegian Field Marshal Wilhelm Gustav Wedel.

Vestfold District Court (Norwegian: Vestfold tingrett) is a district court located in Vestfold og Telemark county, Norway. This court is based at three different courthouses which are located in Tønsberg, Larvik, and Horten. The court serves the eastern part of the county which includes 5 municipalities. The court in Larvik accepts cases from the municipalities of Larvik and Sandefjord. The court in Horten accepts cases from the municipalities of Horten and Holmestrand. The court in Tønsberg accepts cases from the municipalities of Tønsberg and Færder. The court is subordinate to the Agder Court of Appeal.The court is led by a chief judge (sorenskriver) and several other judges. The court is a court of first instance. Its judicial duties are mainly to settle criminal cases and to resolve civil litigation as well as bankruptcy. The administration and registration tasks of the court include death registration, issuing certain certificates, performing duties of a notary public, and officiating civil wedding ceremonies. Cases from this court are heard by a combination of professional judges and lay judges.

Frodeåsen is a hill just north of the town center of Tønsberg, Norway. Reaching 75 meters (246 ft) above mean sea level, it serves largely as a recreational area. Two tunnels run through the hill: the 1.75-kilometer (1.09 mi) long Jarlsberg Tunnel of the Vestfold Line and the Frodeåsen Tunnel on County Road 300.

Tønsberg Ishall is an ice hockey- and figure skating arena in Tønsberg, Norway. Opened in 1995, it is home to the Tønsberg Vikings of the GET-ligaen and Tønsberg Turnforening figure skating branch. In January 2003 it was the host arena for the Norwegian figure skating championships.
