The Nice tsunami of 1979 came on October 16. Two tsunamis struck the coast near Nice, accompanied by a landslide at the Nice Airport, and an aseismic submarine landslide. The two waves struck the coast between the Italian border and the town of Antibes (60 miles; 96 km). They reached 3 m high near Nice and 3.5 m at La Salis (Antibes) and decreased in amplitude from there.

The Var (French: [vaʁ] , Occitan: [ˈbaɾ]; Italian: Varo; Latin: Varus) is a river located in the southeast of France. It is 114 km (71 mi) long. Its drainage basin is 2,812 km2 (1,086 sq mi).The Var flows through the Alpes-Maritimes département for most of its length, with a short (~15 km or ~9 mi) stretch in the Alpes-de-Haute-Provence département. It is a unique case in France of a river not flowing in the département named after it (see Var). Until the beginning of the 19th century, the river had no bridges; it was the border between France and the County of Nice, then part of Kingdom of Piedmont-Sardinia.

Nice Côte d'Azur Airport (French: Aéroport Nice Côte d'Azur) (IATA: NCE, ICAO: LFMN) is an international airport located 3.2 NM (5.9 km; 3.7 mi) southwest of Nice, in the Alpes-Maritimes department of France. It is the third busiest airport in France and serves as a focus city for Air France and an operating base for easyJet. In 2023, it handled 14,189,965 passengers. The airport is positioned 7 km (4 mi) west of the city centre, and is the principal port of arrival for passengers to the Côte d'Azur. Due to its proximity to Monaco, it also serves as that city-state's airport, with helicopter service linking the principality and airport. Some airlines market Monaco as a destination via Nice Airport.

The 1952 Air France SNCASE Languedoc crash occurred on 3 March 1952 when a SNCASE SE.161/P7 Languedoc aircraft of Air France crashed on take-off from Nice Airport for Le Bourget Airport, Paris, killing all 38 people on board. The cause of the accident was that the aileron controls had jammed, which in itself was contributed to by a design fault. The accident was the third-deadliest in France at the time and is the deadliest involving the SNCASE Languedoc.

Espeme is the undergraduate program of the Edhec Business School in Lille, Nice and Paris. The four-year program leads to a Bachelor of Business Administration. Espeme was created in 1988 for school-leavers with specializations in finance, marketing and human resources. The school is usually ranked fourth among business schools accessible after the Baccalauréat or A-level or High school diploma in France after ESSCA, IESEG School of Management and EPSCI. In 2003, the ESPEME diploma is endorsed by the French Ministry of Education. However, EDHEC Business School and all its programs has been awarded international AACSB accreditation and the European EQUIS label.

Saint-Laurent-du-Var is a train station on the line from Marseille to Ventimiglia, situated in Saint-Laurent-du-Var, west of Nice, in the department of Alpes-Maritimes in the region of Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur, France.The station is located in the vicinity of the CAP 3000, the largest shopping centre in Nice. Numerous bus serves link the station to the Shopping Centre.

Nice St-Augustin station (French: Gare de Nice St-Agustin) is a train station on the line from Marseille to Ventimiglia, situated in Nice, in the department of Alpes-Maritimes in the region of Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur, France. The station is located close to Nice Côte d'Azur Airport (10 minutes on foot); it is a 5 minute journey from Nice Ville by TER.

Saint-Laurent-du-Var (French pronunciation: [sɛ̃ loʁɑ̃ dy vaʁ]; Occitan: Sant Laurenç de Var, Italian: San Lorenzo del Varo) is a commune in the Alpes-Maritimes department in the Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur region on the French Riviera.

The Canton of Saint-Laurent-du-Var-Cagnes-sur-Mer-Est is a former French canton, located in the arrondissement of Grasse, in the Alpes-Maritimes département (Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur région). It had 37,102 inhabitants (2012).
