Saint-Laurent-du-Var is a train station on the line from Marseille to Ventimiglia, situated in Saint-Laurent-du-Var, west of Nice, in the department of Alpes-Maritimes in the region of Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur, France.The station is located in the vicinity of the CAP 3000, the largest shopping centre in Nice. Numerous bus serves link the station to the Shopping Centre.

The Var (French: [vaʁ] , Occitan: [ˈbaɾ]; Italian: Varo; Latin: Varus) is a river located in the southeast of France. It is 114 km (71 mi) long. Its drainage basin is 2,812 km2 (1,086 sq mi).The Var flows through the Alpes-Maritimes département for most of its length, with a short (~15 km or ~9 mi) stretch in the Alpes-de-Haute-Provence département. It is a unique case in France of a river not flowing in the département named after it (see Var). Until the beginning of the 19th century, the river had no bridges; it was the border between France and the County of Nice, then part of Kingdom of Piedmont-Sardinia.

The Canton of Saint-Laurent-du-Var-Cagnes-sur-Mer-Est is a former French canton, located in the arrondissement of Grasse, in the Alpes-Maritimes département (Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur région). It had 37,102 inhabitants (2012).

Saint-Laurent-du-Var (French pronunciation: [sɛ̃ loʁɑ̃ dy vaʁ]; Occitan: Sant Laurenç de Var, Italian: San Lorenzo del Varo) is a commune in the Alpes-Maritimes department in the Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur region on the French Riviera.

The 1952 Air France SNCASE Languedoc crash occurred on 3 March 1952 when a SNCASE SE.161/P7 Languedoc aircraft of Air France crashed on take-off from Nice Airport for Le Bourget Airport, Paris, killing all 38 people on board. The cause of the accident was that the aileron controls had jammed, which in itself was contributed to by a design fault. The accident was the third-deadliest in France at the time and is the deadliest involving the SNCASE Languedoc.

Nice Côte d'Azur Airport (French: Aéroport Nice Côte d'Azur) (IATA: NCE, ICAO: LFMN) is an international airport located 3.2 NM (5.9 km; 3.7 mi) southwest of Nice, in the Alpes-Maritimes department of France. It is the third busiest airport in France and serves as a focus city for Air France and an operating base for easyJet. In 2023, it handled 14,189,965 passengers. The airport is positioned 7 km (4 mi) west of the city centre, and is the principal port of arrival for passengers to the Côte d'Azur. Due to its proximity to Monaco, it also serves as that city-state's airport, with helicopter service linking the principality and airport. Some airlines market Monaco as a destination via Nice Airport.

The Meeting International de Nice "Nikaïa is an annual one-day outdoor track and field meeting at the Stade Charles-Ehrmann in Nice, France. First held on 16 August 1976, it was held in June or July each year until 2001, when the meeting folded due to financial reasons. It was part of the IAAF Grand Prix circuit from 1998 to 2001. It was revived on 17 June 2023 as a Bronze-level World Athletics Continental Tour meeting.The meeting was host to a world record in 1988, when Soviet athlete Sergey Bubka set a men's pole vault world record of 6.06 m (19 ft 10+1⁄2 in). The final edition in 2001 saw a world record of 9:25.31 in the women's 3000 metres steeplechase by Poland's Justyna Bąk and a European record in the women's pole vault with Svetlana Feofanova's clearance of 4.62 m (15 ft 1+3⁄4 in).

Stade Charles-Ehrmann is a multi-use stadium in Nice, France. For sporting events it seats 8,000 spectators. It is sometimes used by the OGC Nice, for practice or friendly matches, and by their reserves team the Eaglets. For large concerts, it is used in conjunction with the indoor concert hall Palais Nikaïa, whose doors are opened and permit large crowds of up to 50,000 to view the stage inside the hall.

Palais Nikaïa (French pronunciation: [palɛ nikaja]) is an indoor concert hall and multi-purpose facility located in Nice, France. It opened on 4 April 2001, and is located five minutes' drive from Côte d'Azur International Airport. The name Nikaïa derives from the ancient Greek settlement, predecessor of today's Nice. In addition to concerts, Palais Nikaïa can host variety shows, sporting events and conventions. On its own, Palais Nikaïa has seats for between 1,500 and 6,250 persons depending upon configuration, with an upwards maximum of 9,000 capacity including those standing. However, in a unique arrangement, it is located next to the outdoor Stade Charles-Ehrmann, with sliding glass doors to operate between them, and the two in combination can be used to host very large concerts with up to 50,000 or more in attendance.

The Asian Art Museum of Nice (in French: Musée départemental des arts asiatiques de Nice) is a museum located in Nice, France, dedicated to the arts and cultures of Asia. It was established in 1998 and is operated by the Alpes-Maritimes departmental council. It located near Parc Phœnix. It was inaugurated on October 16, 1998. Following a donation that fell through, the museum built its collections ex nihilo (from scratch). The museum was designed by the Japanese architect Kenzo Tange: "In my mind, this museum is a jewel of snow shining in the azure of the Mediterranean. It is a swan floating on a peaceful lake amidst lush vegetation..." Adjacent to a floral park, the building sits above an artificial lake and gives the illusion of floating on the water. The architectural aesthetic of the museum is based on the contrast between solid forms clad in marble, giving an impression of robustness, and transparent walls that bring lightness. The setback of the walls at the water’s edge gives the structure the impression of defying the laws of gravity. Pierre-Yves Trémois initiated the project by offering his collection of Asian art to the City of Nice in the mid-1980s in exchange for the creation of a museum. Jacques Médecin, mayor of Nice from 1966 to 1990, supported the project, which was located in the heart of the Arénas development zone, then undergoing rapid growth.
