Manchester Mesivta School is a Jewish secondary school for boys located in Prestwich in the English county of Greater Manchester.It is a voluntary aided school administered by Bury Metropolitan Borough Council, but admits Orthodox Jewish boys aged 11 to 16 from all over Greater Manchester. Previously a private school, Manchester Mesivta School became voluntary-aided in 2004 and relocated to new buildings in 2005.Manchester Mesivta School operates principally as a mesivta for pupils who wish to proceed eventually to a yeshiva, and therefore aims for pupils to achieve a high degree of proficiency in Torah studies. The school offers a Yeshiva-orientated Torah syllabus along with the National Curriculum. Secular studies lead to GCSE courses and examinations. There is also an independent sixth form provision attached to the school site.

St Monica's R.C. High School is a coeducational secondary school located on Bury Old Road in Prestwich, Greater Manchester, England, opposite Heaton Park. It serves pupils mainly from the areas of Prestwich, Whitefield, Kersal, Cheetham Hill and Radcliffe, and all those in the parish communities of its associated primary schools.

Heaton Park Congregational Church is a former church in Prestwich in Greater Manchester. It has been listed Grade II on the National Heritage List for England (NHLE) since April 1986.It was designed by Alfred Waterhouse in the Gothic Revival style and completed in 1881. Built of red brick with stone dressings it has steep slate roofs. The NHLE listing describes the church as a "good and complete example of the work of Waterhouse, economically planned and sensitively detailed". Original staircases, doors and interior fittings intact. Unusually the ground floor is occupied by a school room with the church on the first floor. It is believed to be the only church in the United Kingdom designed in this manner.The church was converted into a residential building in 2006. 23 one and two bedroom apartments were formed in the main church building, the congregation moved to a purpose built church building nearby that had an additional three apartments. The congregation decided to convert the building due to a dwindling attendance for worship and increasing vandalism that was expensive to repair. The architect Zoran Baros of Z Architecture and Design initially approached the church in 2000 and the works were eventually completed in 2006.

Heaton Park is a tram stop at Heaton Park in the town of Prestwich, Greater Manchester, England. It is on the Bury Line of Greater Manchester's light rail Metrolink system. It is part of Ticketing Zone 3, and is at the corner of Whittaker Lane and Bury Old Road, with an entrance to Heaton Park. This Metrolink stop is some 800 metres (2,600 ft) from the Lakeside terminus of the Heaton Park Tramway, the heritage tramway within Heaton Park.

Prestwich Cricket, Tennis & Bowling Club, commonly known as PCTBC or Prestwich Cricket Club, is an English multi-sports club from the town of Prestwich, in the Metropolitan Borough of Bury, England. With over 500 members, the club has four official sporting sections fielding amateur teams in cricket, tennis, crown green bowling and association football. Boasting a large social membership section, the club also has teams playing a variety of other sports including cribbage, darts, dominoes, five-a-side football and netball. The club was the first multi-sports club in the UK to achieve Clubmark or equivalent accreditation's in all its official sporting sections. Then in 2010, the club underwent a major redevelopment which included the addition of a new changing facility, the refurbishment of the existing clubhouse and new floodlit tennis courts. As a result, PCTBC was then chosen as the showcase club for the inaugural NatWest ECB CricketForce Fundraiser weekend.

The Parish Church of St Margaret is a Church of England parish church situated on St Margaret's Road, off Bury Old Road (A665) in Prestwich, Greater Manchester, England. The Grade II listed church, in the Diocese of Manchester, was designed in the Decorated style by the Manchester architects Travis and Mangnall in 1849 as a chapel-of-ease to the ancient Prestwich Parish Church of St Mary the Virgin. Opened in 1851, it was extended in 1863, 1871, 1884, 1888 and 1899, and is notable for its fine Arts and Crafts wood carvings by Arthur Simpson of Kendal and late twentieth-century fittings. The church's daughter church of St George, Simister, is in the same parish.

Kersal Moor is a recreation area in Kersal, Greater Manchester, England which consists of eight hectares of moorland bounded by Moor Lane, Heathlands Road, St. Paul's Churchyard and Singleton Brook. Kersal Moor, first called Karsey or Carsall Moor, originally covered a much larger area, running down to the River Irwell. Evidence of activity during the Neolithic period has been discovered and the area was used by the Romans. It was the site of the first Manchester Racecourse and the second golf course to be built outside Scotland. It has been extensively used for other sporting pursuits, military manoeuvres and public gatherings such as the Great Chartist Meeting of 1838, prompting the political theorist Friedrich Engels to dub it "the Mons Sacer of Manchester". With the increasing industrialisation and urbanisation of Manchester and Salford during the 18th and 19th centuries, the moor became one of the remaining areas of natural landscape of interest to amateur naturalists, one of whom collected the only known specimens of the now extinct moth species Euclemensia woodiella. It is now a Site of Biological Importance and in 2007 was designated as a Local Nature Reserve by English Nature.

Salford City Football Club is a professional football club in Salford, Greater Manchester, England. The club competes in League Two, the fourth tier of the English football league system. The club was founded as Salford Central in 1940, and played minor local league football until winning a place in the Manchester League in 1963. Salford were winners of the Lancashire Amateur Cup in 1971, 1973, and 1975 and the Manchester Premier Cup in 1978 and 1979. The club joined the Cheshire County League in 1980, which amalgamated into the North West Counties Football League (NWCFL) two years later. They changed their name again in 1989, to Salford City, and secured promotion into the Northern Premier League (NPL) in 2008. The club survived in the league on the final day of the following season, an achievement known in club folklore as The Great Escape. In 2014, Salford were taken over by former Manchester United players Nicky Butt, Ryan Giggs, Gary Neville, Phil Neville, and Paul Scholes, who each own 10% of the club, with Singaporean businessman Peter Lim owning the rest; David Beckham purchased a 10% share from Lim in 2019. Under the management duo of Anthony Johnson and Bernard Morley, they were crowned NPL Division One North champions in 2015, won the NPL Premier Division play-offs in 2016, and the National League North title in 2018. This success was followed in 2019 with promotion to the English Football League (EFL) after winning the 2019 National League play-off final, under the stewardship of Graham Alexander. Salford won the EFL Trophy in their début campaign. Salford play their home games at Moor Lane, which underwent a major transformation between 2016 and 2017, and is currently known as the "Peninsula Stadium" for sponsorship purposes. The club have primarily worn tangerine shirts and black shorts throughout their recorded history, before switching to red shirts and white shorts following the takeover. The club's nickname, The Ammies, stems from their name from the early 1960s to the early 1970s, Salford Amateurs. Historically part of Lancashire, Prestwich was the seat of the ancient parish of Prestwich-cum-Oldham, in the hundred of Salfordshire. The Church of St Mary the Virgin—a Grade I listed building—has lain at the centre of the community for centuries. The oldest part of Prestwich, around Bury New Road, is known as Prestwich Village. There is a large Jewish community in Prestwich which, together with neighbouring Whitefield, Cheetham Hill, Crumpsall and Broughton Park, forms the second-largest in the United Kingdom.
