Heaton Park Congregational Church is a former church in Prestwich in Greater Manchester. It has been listed Grade II on the National Heritage List for England (NHLE) since April 1986.It was designed by Alfred Waterhouse in the Gothic Revival style and completed in 1881. Built of red brick with stone dressings it has steep slate roofs. The NHLE listing describes the church as a "good and complete example of the work of Waterhouse, economically planned and sensitively detailed". Original staircases, doors and interior fittings intact. Unusually the ground floor is occupied by a school room with the church on the first floor. It is believed to be the only church in the United Kingdom designed in this manner.The church was converted into a residential building in 2006. 23 one and two bedroom apartments were formed in the main church building, the congregation moved to a purpose built church building nearby that had an additional three apartments. The congregation decided to convert the building due to a dwindling attendance for worship and increasing vandalism that was expensive to repair. The architect Zoran Baros of Z Architecture and Design initially approached the church in 2000 and the works were eventually completed in 2006.

Heaton Park Reservoir is a granite sided reservoir in the North-West of England, on the border between the City of Manchester and Bury and is owned by United Utilities, and can be found within the grounds of Heaton Park. Heaton Park BT Tower lies on the banks of the reservoir, which is close to Junction 18 of the M60 motorway.An aqueduct carrying water from Haweswater, in the Lake District, to Manchester terminates at Heaton Park Reservoir. The aqueduct was inaugurated in June 1955, is 82 miles (132 km) in length and carries up to 100 million imperial gallons (450,000 m3) of water per day under the force of gravity.In 2008, a £3.5 million Ultra-Violet (UV) disinfection plant was installed at Heaton Park water treatment works to meet water quality requirements. The UV building was designed to nestle within the embankment of the existing service reservoir.

Prestwich Cricket, Tennis & Bowling Club, commonly known as PCTBC or Prestwich Cricket Club, is an English multi-sports club from the town of Prestwich, in the Metropolitan Borough of Bury, England. With over 500 members, the club has four official sporting sections fielding amateur teams in cricket, tennis, crown green bowling and association football. Boasting a large social membership section, the club also has teams playing a variety of other sports including cribbage, darts, dominoes, five-a-side football and netball. The club was the first multi-sports club in the UK to achieve Clubmark or equivalent accreditation's in all its official sporting sections. Then in 2010, the club underwent a major redevelopment which included the addition of a new changing facility, the refurbishment of the existing clubhouse and new floodlit tennis courts. As a result, PCTBC was then chosen as the showcase club for the inaugural NatWest ECB CricketForce Fundraiser weekend.

Besses o' th' Barn () is a suburb in the Metropolitan Borough of Bury, Greater Manchester, England. The population at the 2011 Census was 10,664. It lies between Radcliffe and Prestwich. Besses o' th' Barn tram stop is on the electrified line from Manchester Victoria to Bury. The station closed for eight months for conversion to Metrolink use, re-opening on 6 April 1992. A three-layer bridge enables Bury Old Road to run under the Manchester Metrolink line by the Metrolink station and over the M60 motorway near Junction 17. McDonald's and Aldi have stores on the retail park where Bury New Road and Bury Old Road cross, while Besses United Reformed Church, designed by Alfred Waterhouse, stands nearby. Near the McDonald's and Aldi used to stand a Co-op but it was knocked down in 2019 to make way for the larger Aldi. The area is the home of Besses o' th' Barn Band, a brass band formed in 1818. Notable people who lived in the area include John Horsefield, Thomas Thorp and John Warburton. The area was also at one time the location of Whitefield Brewery.

Heaton Park is a public park in Manchester, England, covering an area of over 600 acres (242.8 ha). The park includes the grounds of a Grade I listed, neoclassical 18th century country house, Heaton Hall. The hall, remodelled by James Wyatt in 1772, is now only open to the public on an occasional basis as a museum and events venue.Heaton Park was sold to Manchester City Council in 1902 by the Earl of Wilton. It has one of the United Kingdom's few concrete towers, the Heaton Park BT Tower. The park was renovated as part of a millennium project partnership between the Heritage Lottery Fund and Manchester City Council at a cost of over £10 million. It contains an 18-hole golf course, a boating lake, an animal farm, a pitch and putt course, a golf driving range, woodlands, ornamental gardens, an observatory, an adventure playground, a Papal monument and a volunteer-run tram system and museum, and is listed Grade II by Historic England. It has the only flat green bowling greens in Manchester, built for the 2002 Commonwealth Games.
