YWCA Building (Bellingham, Washington)

The Dr. William H. and Frances C. Axtell House, also known as the Axtell House, is a historic residence located at 413 E. Maple St. in historic Bellingham, Washington. The house was built by Frances Cleveland Axtell (1866–1953) and her husband William Henry Axtell (1863–1927). The Axtells moved to Bellingham from Illinois in 1894. Construction on the house was completed in 1902. Between 1902 and 1942, the house served as a meeting spot for many of the local elite, including businessmen, politicians, and suffragettes who shared Frances' political ideals. In 1926, the house was subdivided into eight different apartments. William passed away a year later in 1927. Frances continued living in the house until 1942, when she moved to Seattle to care for one of her daughters, passing away there in 1953. By 2011, the house was owned by local attorney Patrick Gallery. The house was added to the National Register of Historic Places on March 7, 2012.

The Bellingham Herald Building is a historical building located at 1155 N. State Street in downtown Bellingham, Washington. It was designed by Frederick Stanley Piper of Bellingham and Morrison & Stimsons of Seattle. It served as the headquarters of the Bellingham Herald newspaper since it's completion in 1926 to 2019.

The Hotel Laube, also known as the Laube Hotel, is a historical hotel turned apartments located at 1226 N. State St. in downtown Bellingham, Washington. The building was completed in 1903 on behest of Charles Laube (1846–1928) and Margaret Laube (1851–1928). The building consists of brick and sandstone. When the hotel initially opened on February 3, 1903, the top two floors contained 50 rooms for guests. After Charles Laube's death in 1928, ownership of the hotel passed to his sons, Charles F. Laube and Herbert D. Laube. The hotel closed in late 1983. During the late 1970s, a bar and music venue opened on the main floor. The business ran under several names, such as Bucks, Pete's, and finally Bellingham Bay Brewing Company (later shortened to 3B). Several live music acts such as Death Cab for Cutie and Idiot Pilot performed at the venue. 3B closed its doors on December 31, 2005, in preparation for renovations to the building. In 1998 the building was sold to developer Robert K. Hall, who owned Daylight Properties. Hall later sold to building to the Bellingham Housing Authority in 2005, citing difficulties in renovation as reason for the sale. A renovation project by the Housing Authority was started in 2007 and was completed in 2008 for the cost of $5.5 million. The upper floors of the building were remodeled to 20 low income housing apartments, while two retail spaces opened on the ground floor. The building was added to the National Register of Historic Places listings on August 29, 2003. The two retail spaces on the ground floor are currently being occupied by a deli and a thrift store.

The J. J. Donovan House, also known as Donovan House, at 1201 Garden Street in Bellingham, Washington is a two-and-a-half-story historic house that is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.It was built in 1890 for Edward Fischer and was finished with fine details by its second owner, industrialist John Joseph Donovan. Its architecture is Stick style with Tudor Revival details plus other elements from other Victorian era architectural styles.Early in his career J. J. Donovan worked for the Northern Pacific Railroad as a construction engineer. Later he was a significant player in the lumber industry.It was used as a women's dormitory by Western Washington University for roughly 25 years.

The Leopold Hotel is a historic hotel structure in Bellingham, Washington. The surviving wings were constructed in 1929 and 1967. It is currently used as a combination apartment building and hotel.

The Bellingham National Bank Building is an historic commercial/office building located in downtown Bellingham, Washington. It was originally built from 1912 to 1913 in a restrained Beaux Arts commercial style with reinforced concrete. Even though this particular style was common for cities in the midwest and east coast, the building style was a stark contrast for Bellingham's sandstone and rounded arch buildings. The Bellingham National Bank occupied the building starting on December 1, 1913.Key Bank of Washington occupied the first floor until May 8, 2009. Starting in February 2011, The Stamp & Coin Place, a local bullion and coin trading shop, will occupy the space. The upper-offices are leased to various businesses and government offices, including the Washington State Board of Industrial Insurance Appeals and the Washington State Attorney General's Office.

The Bellingham Railway Museum was a nonprofit museum located in downtown Bellingham, Washington, USA, that displayed a pictorial and text history of railroad traffic in Bellingham and Whatcom/Skagit Counties, as well as a large electric model railroad, an exhibit of railroad lanterns, and a train simulator based on Microsoft Train Simulator software. A research library was also hosted. It opened in 2003 and was volunteer operated until its permanent closure in June of 2020 due to a loss of income during the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Barlow Building is a historical building located in downtown Bellingham, Washington. The building was completed in 1892. It is one of the oldest and best examples of a single-story commercial buildings still standing in Bellingham's business district. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2004.

Sehome is a neighborhood in Bellingham, Washington. The neighborhood is named after S'Klallam Chief Sehome (Klallam: sx̣ʷiʔám̕). The neighborhood was first platted in 1858 by E.C. Fitzhugh. Sehome was originally owned by the Bellingham Bay and British Columbia Railroad, which operated the Bellingham Bay Coal Mine, later named Sehome Coal Mine. (incorporated on July 16, 1888).

The SPARK Museum of Electrical Invention (formerly the American Museum of Radio and Electricity) is an interactive museum located in Bellingham, Washington, United States, which offers educational experiences for audiences of all ages through galleries and public programs that illustrate the development and use of electricity, radio and the related inventions that changed the course of human history. The museum features a collection of artifacts showcasing four centuries of human innovation from 1580 into the 1950s.
