Multiplaza Aragón is a shopping center in Ecatepec, in Greater Mexico City, opened in 1978. As of 2018 it had the highest number of visitors of any shopping center in the metropolitan area, 2.8 million visitors per month. Gross leasable area is 138,304 square metres (1,488,690 sq ft).The mall has over 400 stores. Anchors are three hypermarkets: Walmart, Sam's Club, Bodega Aurrerá; midrange department stores Suburbia and Coppel; and Cinépolis multicinemas.The Plaza Aragón metro station is adjacent to the south end of the mall, while the Ciudad Azteca metro and Mexibús stations are a short walk from the north end.

Ciudad Azteca (Spanish: [sjuˈðað asˈteka] (listen); Spanish lit. transl. "Aztec City") is a station of the Mexico City Metro along Carlos Hank González Avenue (otherwise known as Central Avenue), in Ecatepec de Morelos, State of Mexico, in the metropolitan area of Mexico City. It is an at-grade station with two island platforms that serves as the northern terminus of Line B (the Green-and-Gray Line). It is followed by Plaza Aragón station. It serves the colonia (neighborhood) of Ciudad Azteca (es), from which the station takes its name. The station's pictogram features the silhouette of the neighborhood's glyph. Ciudad Azteca station opened on 30 November 2000 with service southwestward toward Buenavista. In 2019, the station had an average daily ridership of 58,658 passengers, making it the 12th busiest station in the network and the second-most used on the line. The facilities are accessible for people with disabilities. The station is served by the Terminal Multimodal Azteca Bicentenario (also known as Mexipuerto Ciudad Azteca), a shopping mall and transport hub that connects with local routes and the Mexibús Line I, a bus rapid transit line that connects Mexico City to the Felipe Ángeles International Airport.

Olímpica is a station on Line B of the Mexico City Metro system. The station is located at Avenida Central and Avenida Valle de Santiago in the Colonia Jardines de Aragón neighborhood and Avenida Grecia in the Colonia La Olimpica II neighborhood in Ecatepec, State of Mexico, adjacent to Mexico City.The logo of the station features the five interlaced Olympic rings of the Olympic Games logo. The station was opened on 30 November 2000.From 23 April to 28 June 2020, the station was temporarily closed due to the COVID-19 pandemic in Mexico. The closure was protested by taxi drivers serving the station's area.

Ecatepec (until August 25, 2008, called Tecnológico) is a station on Line B of the Mexico City Metro system. It is in the Ecatepec de Morelos city in the State of Mexico adjacent to Mexico City. The station opened on November 30, 2000, under its original name, Metro Tecnológico. The station's icon was the emblem of the Tecnológico de Estudios Superiores de Ecatepec, whose facilities are located nearby. On 23 July 2008, Francisco Bojórquez Hernández, director of the Sistema de Transporte Colectivo Metro, and José Luis Gutiérrez Cureño, Ecatepec's municipal president, established an agreement to improve the security, quality, and efficacy of the services at the station. As part of their agreement, they decided to change the name and iconography of the station. On August 25, 2008, Metro Tecnológico was renamed Metro Ecatepec, after the neighborhood where it is located. The updated station logo shows a Mexica based icon of Ehecatépetl a mountain whose top is the god of wind Ehecatl.

Múzquiz is a station on Line B of the Mexico City Metro system. The station was opened on 30 November 2000. It is named after Melchor Múzquiz who served as President of Mexico during the second half of 1832.

The 17th federal electoral district of the State of Mexico (Spanish: Distrito electoral federal 17 del Estado de México) is one of the 300 electoral districts into which Mexico is divided for elections to the federal Chamber of Deputies and one of 40 such districts in the State of Mexico. It elects one deputy to the lower house of Congress for each three-year legislative session by means of the first-past-the-post system. Votes cast in the district also count towards the calculation of proportional representation ("plurinominal") deputies elected from the fifth region. Suspended in 1930, the 17th district was re-created by the 1977 electoral reforms, which increased the number of single-member seats in the Chamber of Deputies from 196 to 300. Under that plan, the State of Mexico's seat allocation rose from 15 to 34. The new districts were first contended in the 1979 mid-term election.

Mexico City Texcoco Airport was a planned airport in Mexico City that was meant to become Mexico's New International Airport (Spanish: Nuevo Aeropuerto Internacional de México—NAICM or NAIM). The project was announced in September 2014 but was canceled in late 2018 after a referendum was held stating that the new airport should be built at a different location. Texcoco Airport was first announced by President Enrique Peña Nieto in his State of the Union Address on September 2, 2014. It was billed as Mexico's largest public infrastructure work in a century, and was set to replace Mexico City's current Benito Juárez International Airport.In October 2018, after construction had already begun, a non-binding referendum was organized by then President-elect Andrés Manuel López Obrador, in which 69 percent of the 1.067 million voters rejected the planned airport, choosing instead to build a new airport on the grounds of Santa Lucía Air Force Base.Construction continued for several weeks, but was suspended on December 27, 2018 after López Obrador took office. In 2020, the government of Mexico announced that they would convert the 12,000 hectare space where the airport was being built into the Lake Texcoco Ecological Park, which will be a public space and an area of ecological restoration.

The Lake Texcoco Ecological Park, officially called Proyecto Ecológico Lago de Texcoco (PELT), is a project of the government of Mexico which consists of an urban park in the State of Mexico. It is part of the larger metropolitan area in the Valley of Mexico, around Mexico City. The planned area for the park is 12,200 ha (30,000 acres), of which 4,800 ha (12,000 acres) will be public spaces. At an unspecified date in 2021, the government expects to open the park to the public. Hundreds of years ago it was the site of Lake Texcoco. The park has been internationally praised as both a major ecological restoration project, and having great potential for climate adaptation for Mexico City.

The Deposito de Evaporación Solar "El Caracol" (also known as El Caracol de Texcoco or "El Caracol de la Ciudad de México) is a large spiral-shaped retention basin located over the former lakebed of Lake Texcoco, northeast of Mexico City, in the municipio of Ecatepec de Morelos, Mexico.

On 7 May 2013, a tanker truck carrying liquefied petroleum gas lost control and ran into several cars and houses before it exploded on Federal Highway 85 in San Pedro Xalostoc community in Ecatepec de Morelos, Mexico. 27 people were killed and more than 30 injured as a result of the accident. The resulting fires damaged 45 homes and 16 vehicles.
