Lovell River

The Bearcamp River is a 26.3-mile-long (42.3 km) river at the southern edge of the White Mountains in New Hampshire, the United States. It is the largest tributary of Ossipee Lake, part of the Saco River watershed leading to the Atlantic Ocean. The Bearcamp River rises in Sandwich Notch, at the northeast end of the Squam Mountain Range and the western end of the Sandwich Range, in the town of Sandwich, New Hampshire. It flows to the southeast, dropping over Beede Falls, and quickly reaches the lowlands at the base of the White Mountains. The river flows east through Sandwich, entering Tamworth at the juncture of the Cold River. Passing the villages of South Tamworth and Whittier, the river nears the base of the Ossipee Mountains to the south. It passes the village of West Ossipee and enters Ossipee Lake after flowing through a small delta. New Hampshire Route 25 follows the river through Tamworth to West Ossipee.

Ossipee Lake is located in Carroll County in eastern New Hampshire, in the communities of Ossipee and Freedom. At 3,257 acres (1,318 ha), it is the sixth-largest lake located entirely in New Hampshire. The lake is fed by the West Branch (entering from the north), the Bearcamp and Lovell rivers (entering from the west), and the Pine River (from the south). Water leaves the eastern end of the lake via the Ossipee River, flowing to the Saco River in Maine. Ossipee Lake is a popular vacation site. The land surrounding the lake is home to numerous condo, cabin, and lake house developments. As in most lakes regions, some buildings are available for vacation rentals, and many of the developments have private beaches.The lake is classified as a cold- and warmwater fishery, with observed species including rainbow trout, lake trout, land-locked salmon, smallmouth and largemouth bass, chain pickerel, yellow perch, white perch, sunfish, and brown bullhead.

The West Branch is a 5.5-mile-long (8.9 km) river located in eastern New Hampshire in the United States. It is the northern tributary of Ossipee Lake, part of the Saco River watershed leading to the Atlantic Ocean. The West Branch begins at the outlet of Silver Lake in the southern corner of Madison, New Hampshire, and takes a winding course south towards Ossipee Lake. It forms the boundary between the towns of Freedom and Ossipee. The flat, sandy terrain through which the river flows is known as the West Branch Pine Barrens and is the site of a nature preserve owned and managed by The Nature Conservancy.

Center Ossipee is a census-designated place in the town of Ossipee in Carroll County, New Hampshire. The population was 526 at the 2020 census. It is one of the two main villages in the town, the other being Ossipee Corner (shown simply as "Ossipee" on topographic maps). Center Ossipee has a separate ZIP code (03814) from other portions of the town of Ossipee.

Camp Cody in Freedom, New Hampshire, is a traditional, overnight, international, and co-ed summer camp, located along the shore of Ossipee Lake. Established in 1926 by Philip Axman in Cambridge, Maryland, Camp Cody began as a camp for boys, named after William "Buffalo Bill" Cody. It moved to its current site of Freedom, New Hampshire in 1941, where it remained a boys camp until 2001. Beginning as a camp with just 50 campers enrolled, the camp now serves hundreds of families from all over the USA and around the world, with a typical camper stay of two or four weeks. The campus, also referred to as the Cody Outdoor Center, is currently host to weddings, outsourced camp groups, events, conferences, and its own nature education program. The site functions year-round.

The Dan Hole River is a 5.1-mile-long (8.2 km) river in the town of Ossipee in eastern New Hampshire in the United States. Its waters flow via the Beech River, Pine River, Ossipee Lake, the Ossipee River, and the Saco River to the Gulf of Maine, an arm of the Atlantic Ocean. The Dan Hole River begins at the outlet of Dan Hole Pond on the southern edge of the Ossipee Mountains. The river promptly enters Little Dan Hole Pond, then exits from the pond's northern end. The river flows east, past Moultonville, reaching the Beech River just south of the village of Center Ossipee.

The Beech River is a 13.1-mile-long (21.1 km) river located in eastern New Hampshire in the United States. It is a tributary of the Pine River, part of the Ossipee Lake / Saco River watershed leading to the Atlantic Ocean. The Beech River begins at the outlet of Upper Beech Pond in the northern part of Wolfeboro, New Hampshire. The river flows north for one mile and enters Lower Beech Pond in the town of Tuftonboro. Resuming its course, it heads generally northeast into Ossipee, passing through Garland Pond and reaching the Pine River near the village of Center Ossipee.

The Chocorua River is a 15.2-mile (24.5 km) river located in eastern New Hampshire in the United States. It is a tributary of the Bearcamp River, part of the Ossipee Lake / Saco River watershed leading to the Atlantic Ocean. The Chocorua River rises on the eastern slopes of Mount Chocorua, a prominent rocky knob at the southeast margin of the White Mountains. The river flows south into lowlands at the base of the mountain and arrives at Chocorua Lake, noted for its outstanding view of Mount Chocorua. Beyond the lake, the river flows south to the village of Chocorua with a picturesque mill dam, then continues into the flat, sandy Ossipee Lake region, reaching the Bearcamp River at West Ossipee. New Hampshire Route 16 parallels the Chocorua River for most of its length.

Broad Bay is a 431-acre (1.74 km2) freshwater lake located in Carroll County in eastern New Hampshire, United States, in the towns of Freedom and Ossipee. Broad Bay is part of a chain of four lakes with identical water levels, due to a dam located downstream in Effingham Falls. Upstream, a channel connects Broad Bay to Ossipee Lake, while a channel leads downstream through Leavitt Bay and Berry Bay to the start of the Ossipee River, which flows east into Maine and the Saco River. Broad Bay is classified as a cold- and warmwater fishery, with observed species including largemouth bass, smallmouth bass, rainbow trout, lake trout, landlocked salmon, chain pickerel, yellow perch, white perch, sunfish, and brown bullhead.

Nickerson Mountain is a mountain located in Carroll County, New Hampshire, in the northeastern Ossipee Mountains. The peak was also once known as Mount Whittier; however, the USGS has since labelled a mountain to the immediate west with the name. The Mount Whittier Ski Area and scenic gondola operated on Nickerson Mountain until 1985.

West Ossipee is an unincorporated community in the town of Ossipee in Carroll County, New Hampshire, United States. It is located near the northern boundary of the town, along New Hampshire Route 16, leading north towards Conway and south towards Rochester. Route 41 departs from the village, heading northeast to Silver Lake and Madison. Route 25 leads west towards Tamworth and Moultonborough. The Bearcamp River runs along the southwest side of the village. The Whittier Bridge is a historic covered bridge that crosses the river just west of the village. West Ossipee has a separate ZIP code (03890) from the rest of Ossipee.

The Whittier Bridge is a historic wooden covered bridge in Ossipee, New Hampshire. The bridge carried an old alignment of New Hampshire Route 25 (now Nudd Road and Old Covered Bridge Road) over the Bearcamp River. Built in 1870, it is one of New Hampshire's few surviving 19th-century covered bridges, and a rare example of a Paddleford truss. The bridge was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1984. It was closed to vehicular traffic in 1989, and was removed from its footings for restoration in 2008. As of September 2019, the bridge is resting on Nudd Road adjacent to the crossing point. It was placed back on its abutments in the late fall of 2022.
