Hampstead Square

The Hampstead Meeting House is a Friends meeting house (a Quaker place of worship) at 120 Heath Street in Hampstead, London N3. It was designed by Fred Rowntree in the Arts and Crafts style. The friends had previously met in Willoughby Road from 1903. The Hungarian emigrant sculptor Peter Laszlo Peri was an elder of the Hampstead meeting; having joined in 1945.Mahatma Gandhi spoke at the meeting house in 1909. The prominent Australian Quaker David Hodgkin married Bridget Kelsey in the meeting house in 1940. The noted boat designer Iain Oughtred became a member of the meeting in the late 1960s. The New Zealand social worker and poet Ursula Bethell called the building a "beautiful little bare meeting house" in a 1937 letter to Rodney Kennedy. The peace activist Stephen Hobhouse attended the Hampstead meeting after graduation in the 1900s. The Chinese feminist and author Zeng Baosun attended the meeting during the 1910s. The Orthodox priest and writer Lev Gillet also attended in the 1940s despite his Orthodox faith.A Quaker funeral at the Hampstead Meeting House is depicted in Zoe Heller's 2001 novel Everything You Know.The meeting house is listed Grade II on the National Heritage List for England.The meeting for worship is held on Sundays at 11 am; with an additional meeting on the first Sunday of every month at 9:30 am.

The Duke of Hamilton was one of the oldest pubs in London, situated in Hampstead. It was a popular meeting place for actors Peter O'Toole, Oliver Reed and Richard Burton. Reed would be seen for long periods at the pub on a daily basis.In 2011, the pub was awarded "Londoner of the Day" by London 24 magazine. The Not For Tourists Guide to London 2014 cited it as being "as good a pub you're likely to find anywhere".The pub closed in July 2017, and was reopened in early 2018 as the "Hampstead Lounge & Jazz Club".

The New End Theatre, Hampstead, was an 80-seat fringe theatre venue in London, at 27 New End in the London Borough of Camden which operated from 1974 until 2011. It was founded in 1974 by Buddy Dalton in the converted mortuary of the now-defunct New End Hospital. The mortuary was formerly linked to the hospital across the road by a tunnel. It was owned by Roy and Sonia Saunders from 1986 until 1997. Its Artistic Directors included Sonia Saunders (1986–92), Jon Harris (1992–96) and Neil McPherson (1996–97). From 1997 to 2011 it was both owned and run by Artistic Director and Chief Executive Brian Daniels. It had a number of successes including A Day in Hollywood / A Night in the Ukraine, which transferred to both the West End and Broadway; world premieres of work by Jean Anouilh, Steven Berkoff, Tom Kempinski, Richard Stirling, Arnold Wesker, Tony McHale, and Geoffrey Williams' play Tunnels Without End. The building was converted into a synagogue and Jewish cultural centre in 2011.

New End Hospital was a hospital in Hampstead, north London. It was founded in 1869 as the infirmary for the Hampstead Union workhouse, and operated until 1986. The buildings have now been redeveloped as housing.

Lahd Gallery is a contemporary Middle Eastern art gallery. Founded in 2005 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, to create a focal point for women artists from the Persian Gulf, in 2010 it moved to its present location in Hampstead, London.Lahd Gallery became a well-known exhibition space representing exclusively MENASA (Middle East, North Africa, South Asia) contemporary art. Artists are exposed to an international market using an online e-gallery, as well as yearly international pop venues, fairs and events all over the world.

The Upper Flask was a tavern near the top of Hampstead hill in the 18th century which sold flasks of water from the Hampstead spa. It was the summer meeting place of the great literary and political figures of the Kit-Kat Club such as Walpole. The tavern business ceased in the 1750s and the grand house subsequently became the private residence of ladies and gentlemen such as Lady Charlotte Rich, George Steevens and Thomas Sheppard.

Hampstead Grove is a street in Hampstead in the London Borough of Camden. It heads northwards from Holly Hill running towards Hampstead Heath, but curving back towards Lower Terrace which connects it to the Heath. It runs roughly parallel to Heath Street to its east. It takes its name from the groves of trees that marked the landscape. The first reference to the street is in 1831, when it was known as The Grove (a name that also at times included Admiral's Walk and Upper and Lower Terrace). In 1937, to avoid confusion with The Grove in Highgate, the name was changed to Hampstead Grove. One of Hampstead's two historic windmills was located here. It contains a large number of eighteenth and nineteenth century properties. The Grade I Fenton House, now belonging to the National Trust, is on the west side of the road and is the oldest surviving mansion in Hampstead dating back to 1693. Other listed buildings include Old Grove House and New Grove House. Notable residents have included the writer George du Maurier, his son the actor Gerald du Maurier, the artist Brian Robb, the novelist Mary Webb and Lord Cottesloe. Near its northern end is a concealed reservoir, dating back to 1856 and drawing its water from nearby Whitestone Pond, and Hampstead Observatory.

Fenton House is a 17th-century merchant's house in Hampstead in North London which belongs to the National Trust, bequeathed to them in 1952 by Lady Binning, its last owner and resident. It is a detached house with a walled garden, which is large by London standards, and features a sunken garden, an orchard and a kitchen garden.

Gang Moor is a house on Whitestone Lane in Hampstead in the London Borough of Camden. It is listed Grade II on the National Heritage List for England.The house dates from the early 18th century, it was re-fronted in the 19th century. The house evolved from a pair of dwellings described as early as the 1740s and formed two houses by 1762. This was considered the rural northern extremities of Hampstead. It was the residence of the engraver W. J. Linton and his wife Eliza Lynn from 1862 and the artist and writer George du Maurier and his family from 1869. The Du Mauriers moved three years later to 27 Church Row in Hampstead village. The house was owned in the early 20th century by Charles and later Edward Duveen, sons of the art dealer Joseph Joel Duveen. The house was put up for sale in March 1933 through Hamptons. An article in The Times on the sale stated that "claims have been made that the views extend for 60 miles, but this is incorrect now, if it were ever the fact".Daphne du Maurier, in her biography of her father, Gerald: A Portrait, describes the house as "standing on the very summit of Hampstead Hill facing Whitestone Pond with a clear uninterrupted view towards every point of the compass".

Admiral's House (originally known as Golden Spikes and later as The Grove) is a Grade II listed house in Hampstead in the London Borough of Camden. The house's name is a misnomer, as no admirals have ever lived there. The house is featured in multiple paintings by John Constable.

The Holly Bush is a Grade II listed public house in Holly Mount, Hampstead, London, NW3.The building was originally built as a house in the 1790s and used as Assembly Rooms in the 19th century before becoming a pub in 1928.In 2010, it was bought by Fuller's Brewery.Liam Gallagher has been known to frequent the pub.

New End Square is a square in Hampstead, located in the London Borough of Camden. It dates back to the early eighteenth century when it was located close to the Hampstead Wells spa on the adjacent Well Walk. Despite its name it is not rectangular. At its northern end is the Old White Bear pub dating back to 1704, on the corner with Well Road. Its southern end is at the junction between Flask Walk and Well Walk. New End street curls off from one corner of the square, eventually heading west to Heath Street. It is known as New End to distinguish it from older parts of Hampstead village. The largest building is Burgh House, now housing the Hampstead Museum, which dates back to 1704. A number of other buildings, dating back to the eighteenth and early nineteenth century, are now Grade II listed.New End street was developed at the same time as the square, and was once home to the New End Hospital and the later New End Theatre.
