The Leo Baeck Institute New York (LBI) is a research institute in New York City dedicated to the study of German-Jewish history and culture, founded in 1955. It is one of three independent research centers founded by a group of German-speaking Jewish émigrés at a conference in Jerusalem in 1955. The other Leo Baeck institutes are Leo Baeck Institute Jerusalem and Leo Baeck Institute London, and the activities of all three are coordinated by the board of directors of the Leo Baeck Institute. It is also a founding partner of the Center for Jewish History, and maintains a research library and archive in New York City that contains a significant collection of source material relating to the history of German-speaking Jewry, from its origins to the Holocaust, and continuing to the present day. The Leo Baeck Medal has been awarded by the Institute since 1978 to those who have helped preserve the spirit of German-speaking Jewry in culture, academia, politics, and philanthropy.

The American Jewish Historical Society (AJHS) was founded in 1892 with the mission to foster awareness and appreciation of American Jewish history and to serve as a national scholarly resource for research through the collection, preservation and dissemination of materials relating to American Jewish history.

The American Sephardi Federation, a founding member of the Center for Jewish History, is a non-profit Jewish organization that strengthens and organizes the religious and cultural activities of Sephardic Jews, preserves Sephardic heritage, tradition and culture in the United States, and assists in the publication of books and literature dealing with the Sephardic culture and tradition. The federation also works to further awareness of the former existence of large Jewish communities in the Muslim and Arab world.

The Center for Jewish History is a partnership of five Jewish history, scholarship, and art organizations in New York City: American Jewish Historical Society, American Sephardi Federation, Leo Baeck Institute New York, Yeshiva University Museum, and YIVO Institute for Jewish Research. Together, housed in one location, the partners have separate governing bodies and finances, but collocate resources. The partners' collections make up the biggest repository of Jewish history in the United States. The Center for Jewish History also serves as a centralized place of scholarly research, events, exhibitions, and performances. Located within the Center are the Lillian Goldman Reading Room, Ackman & Ziff Family Genealogy Institute and a Collection Management & Conservation Wing. The Center for Jewish History is also an affiliate of the Smithsonian Institution.

YIVO (Yiddish: ייִוואָ, [jiˈvɔ]), established in 1925 in Wilno in the Second Polish Republic (now Vilnius, Lithuania) as the Yidisher Visnshaftlekher Institut (Yiddish: ייִדישער װיסנשאַפֿטלעכער אינסטיטוט, pronounced [ˈjidiʃɛr ˈvisn.ʃaftlɛχɛr instiˈtut], Yiddish Scientific Institute), is an organization that preserves, studies, and teaches the cultural history of Jewish life throughout Eastern Europe, Germany, and Russia as well as orthography, lexicography, and other studies related to Yiddish. (The word yidisher means both "Yiddish" and "Jewish.") The English name of the organization was changed to the Institute for Jewish Research after its relocation to New York City, but it is still known mainly by its Yiddish acronym. YIVO is now a partner of the Center for Jewish History. Formerly, they had linguists whose main occupation was deciding on grammar rules and new words, and during this time they were seen in the secular world to serve as the recognized language regulator of the Yiddish language. However, YIVO no longer serves this purpose. Nevertheless, the YIVO system is still commonly taught in universities and known as klal shprakh (spelled in Yiddish:כּלל־שפּראַך) and sometimes "YIVO Yiddish" (spelled in Yiddish:ייִוואָ־ייִדיש).

The Margaret Sanger Clinic is a historic building at 17 West 16th Street in Manhattan, New York City. Built in 1846, it is notable as the location of the Clinical Research Bureau, where birth control pioneer Margaret Sanger and her successors provided contraceptive services and conducted research from 1930 to 1973. The building was designated a New York City Landmark in 1976 for its Greek Revival architecture, and was declared a National Historic Landmark in 1993 for its association with Sanger.

Aldea was a restaurant in New York City. The fine dining establishment opened in 2009 and closed in 2020.

BLT Fish ("BLT" stands for "Bistro Laurent Tourondel") was a restaurant in New York City. The restaurant opened in Chelsea in 2005.

20 West 16th Street is a house in the Chelsea neighborhood of Manhattan in New York City, New York, US. Designed in the Gothic Revival style by Isaac Greene Pearson, it was constructed in 1844–1845 and owned by the family of artist Emma Stebbins for a half-century. It is one of Manhattan's few remaining intact Gothic Revival houses and is the only remaining building associated with Stebbins. Over the years, the house has remained in residential use, with residents such as the politician Bella Abzug. It is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The building is a three-bay-wide brick structure. It is set back from a concrete front yard, with three stories above a brick basement. Features of the facade include a stoop to the raised first floor, tall windows with sills, and a cornice with wooden arches. Inside the primary living space, there are a parlor, living room, and dining room on the first floor, and there are bedrooms on the second floor. A stair from the first floor rises to another apartment on the third and fourth floors.

The 8th Floor is an exhibition and event space established by Donald and Shelley Rubin in 2010. It is located at 17 West 17th Street in Manhattan's Chelsea neighborhood in the same building as the Rubin Museum. The space features a rotating selection of artists and exhibitions, many with a focus on social justice. In 2019 they launched a series of two-year exhibits under the theme Revolutionary Cycles.

Xavier High School is an independent university-preparatory high school for boys run by the USA Northeast Province of the Society of Jesus in the Chelsea neighborhood of Manhattan, New York City. It was founded in 1847, as the College of St. Francis Xavier (also known as St. Francis Xavier College) by John Larkin.

The International Juridical Association (IJA; 1931–1942) was an association of socially minded American lawyers, established by Carol Weiss King and considered by the U.S. federal government (in the form of the U.S. House Un-American Activities Committee or HUAC) as "another early (communist) front for lawyers. The principal concern about the IJA (and, as of 1942, its successor group, the National Lawyers Guild or NLG) was that it "constituted itself an agent of a foreign principal hostile to the interests of the United States."
