The Maddalena Archipelago is a group of islands in the Strait of Bonifacio between Corsica (France) and Sardinia (Italy). The whole archipelago makes the territory of the La Maddalena comune in Sardinia.

Santo Stefano (Santu Stefanu in Gallurese; Santu Istèvene in Sardinian) is an island in the Maddalena archipelago of northern Sardinia, Italy, and part of the Maddalena National Park.

Punta Sardegna Lighthouse (Italian: Faro di Punta Sardegna) is an active lighthouse located on the northern end of the granite promontory of Punta Sardegna, in front of the Maddalena archipelago, in the municipality of Palau on the Strait of Bonifacio.

Punta Palau Lighthouse (Italian: Faro di Punta Palau) is an active lighthouse located on the northern extremity of a granite promontory where, shaped by time, appears a natural sculpture that looks like a bear, symbol of Palau in front of the Maddalena archipelago on the Tyrrhenian Sea.

Arcipelago di La Maddalena National Park is a geomarine national park on the coast of Sardinia. The park was established on 1 April 1994, followed by the change of DPR on 17 May 1996. It covers an area on land and sea of over 12,000 hectares and 180 kilometers of coasts. This region includes all the islands and islets within the territory of the Municipality of La Maddalena, Italy. The territory of the National Park will also represent an important part of the Bocche di Bonifacio international marine park which will soon be established. The Park's includes some beaches and these islands: La Maddalena, Caprera, Spargi and Spargiotto, Budelli, Razzoli e Santa Maria and the Isles of Nibani, Mortorio, Soffi e Camere. As of mid-2020, the Park had a single private inhabitant. Mauro Morandi had lived in a former WWII shelter on Budelli island since 1989 and acted as an unofficial caretaker. He was to be evicted by the end of 2020. In 2016, the park's president explained why Morandi could not continue to live in the park indefinitely: "[He] symbolizes a man, enchanted by the elements, who decides to devote his life to contemplation and custody ... "No one ignores [his] role in representing the historical memory of the place … But it's hard to find a contractual arrangement for a person in his position". Morandi took up residence in an apartment in Maddalena and is working on writing his memoirs.

Capo d'Orso Lighthouse (Italian: Faro di Capo d'Orso) is an active lighthouse located on the tip of Capo d'Orso promontory in front of the Maddalena archipelago, in the municipality of Palau, in the north east of Sardinia on the Tyrrhenian Sea.

Spargi is an island of Italy. It is situated in the Maddalena archipelago, in the Strait of Bonifacio between Corsica and Sardinia. It is the third largest island in the archipelago, and is uninhabited. It is within the Arcipelago di La Maddalena National Park. The landscape is rugged granite, with some porphyry. The island is more-or-less circular. The only source of fresh water is rainfall. The coast is marked by coves and sandy beaches. The hinterland is almost impenetrable. Plant life includes Cistus, strawberry tree, juniper and mastic. During the 19th century, Natale Berretta, an alleged bandit, hid on the island and managed to elude searchers. When his name was cleared, he brought his family over and settled down. The Spargi wreck is a Roman ship 35 m (115 ft) dating from c. 120 BC, discovered in 1939. It was a cargo vessel, carrying amphorae of wine. Finds from it are conserved in the Nino Lamboglia Museum in La Maddelena. Spargi was garrisoned during both World Wars. Some of the fortifications still remain. The ownership of Spargi was the subject of a lightly-contested court case in 2011. The parties agreed that it was worth €127,000. The nearby islet of Spargiotto to the west is a breeding site for birds such as shag, Audouin's gull and storm petrel. Secca di Spargi ('Spargi shoal'; also called Secca Washington) is a recommended and marked-out area for diving. It consists of large blocks of granite together with boulders and landslips, and includes tafoni and depressions. It ranges in depth from 6 m (20 ft) to 25 m (82 ft). Fish include grouper, meagre, sea bream and barracuda. The sunlit areas support seaweed; the shady areas are populated by the sponge Aplysina cavernicola (genus Aplysina) and red gorgonians.

Caprera is an island in the Maddalena archipelago off the coast of Sardinia, Italy. In the area of La Maddalena island in the Strait of Bonifacio, it is a tourist destination and the place to which Giuseppe Garibaldi retired from 1854 until his death in 1882. Scarcely populated, the majority of the inhabitants live in Borgo di Stagnali. The island of Caprera is entirely included in the La Maddalena Archipelago National Park: a marine and land protected area of national and community interest. In particular, the marine zone in front of the area of Punta Rossa, a southern extension of the island, is an area with maximum environmental protection, with Cala Andreani and Spiaggia del Relitto. The eastern ridge of the island is a land zone of full protection, while the marine area in front of Punta Coticcio, including Cala Coticcio, is protected by the managing authority of the National Park.

The Isuledda (Sardinian for Little Island), also called Isola dei Gabbiani (Italian for Island of Seagulls), is an almost-island in northern Sardinia, Italy, facing the Sardinian channel. Covering an area of approximately 180,000 m2, it is almost completely surrounded by the sea, and connected to the mainland by a narrow isthmus of sandy terrain, hence, despite the name, it is in fact a peninsula. It is situated close to the località of Porto Pollo and Barrabisa. The name "Isola dei Gabbiani" comes from the name of the camping that occupied the whole surface up to 2008. The area is administered by the comune of Palau. Due to its windy climate, it is a common destination for windsurfers and kitesurfers. The place is particularly favorable to the practice of these sports thanks to the optimal exposition to winds from north-west, which are dominant in the Mediterranean Sea (especially mistral). We got there in a wonderful spot, in a day with more than 40 knots of mistral. In front of us two big bays; the crystalline and turquoise water and the possibility to choose whether to sail on a one metre high chop or on flat water as in a salt lake. All that in complete safety, with sandy depth and the coast line within a mile all around: a perfect natural gym!

Isolotto Monaci Lighthouse (Italian: Faro di Isolotto Monaci) is an active lighthouse located on the southernmost of some skerries placed 2.4 kilometres (1.5 mi) east of Caprera in the Maddalena archipelago in the Tyrrhenian Sea.

Isola delle Bisce Lighthouse (Italian: Faro di Isola delle Bisce) is an active lighthouse located on a small islet, 590 metres (1,940 ft) from Capo Ferro Lighthouse, which make part of the Maddalena archipelago in the Strait of Bonifacio. The lighthouse guides the ships through the narrow Canale delle Bisce; the structure is situated in the municipality of Arzachena on the Tyrrhenian Sea.
