Parkwood is a light rail station on the LYNX Blue Line in the Optimist Park neighborhood of Charlotte, North Carolina, United States. It opened on March 16, 2018, as part of the Blue Line extension to the UNC Charlotte campus. The station features a pair of side platforms and is the first station outside of Uptown Charlotte to the north.

Carolina Actors Studio Theatre (CAST) was an independent non-profit theatre company located at 2424 North Davidson Street in Charlotte, North Carolina. It was founded in 1992 by Charlotte acting instructor Ed Gilweit as an actor's teaching school. In 2000 Gilweit's company partnered with a video and stage production company run by Michael Simmons called Victory Pictures, Inc., and then with the fledgling theatre group Another Roadside Performance Company run by Robert Lee Simmons, Michael Simmons' son. Through this series of mergers, Gilweit and the Simmons' became the founders of the Carolina Actors Studio Theatre. After Gilweit's death in 2002, Michael Simmons became the Managing Artistic Director. CAST was noted for large-scale installations and elaborate sets with the goal of complete immersion of the audience in the reality of each play. CAST always sought to obliterate the emotional distance between the actor and spectator, a technique they called "experiential theatre". When attending a CAST performance, the experience of the spectator began from the moment they entered—or even approached—the theater.

The Highland Park Manufacturing Company Mill No. 3 is a historic textile mill complex and national historic district located at 2901 N. Davidson St. in Charlotte, Mecklenburg County, North Carolina. The district encompasses included five contributing buildings and are the original mill building (1903-1904) and major weaving room addition (c. 1946), Gate House (c. 1904, 1920), Dye House (c. 1925), Boiler House (c. 1903-1904), and Waste House (1903-1904). The original mill was designed by Stuart W. Cramer and features a four-story tower capped by fancy corbelling and crenelated parapets.The building is located in the North Charlotte Historic District. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1988. Currently, the building had been converted into an apartment complex named Highland Mill Lofts.

The Speas Vinegar Company is a historic industrial facility at 2921 North Tryon Street in Charlotte, North Carolina. The facility consists of a two-story brick manufacturing and office building, to which is attached a single-story brick warehouse. The building's principal decorative embellishments are brick pilasters separating the window bays, topped by cast stone caps. Built in 1939, it is a good local example of early 20th-century fireproof industrial construction. It was built by the Speas Vinegar Company, founded in 1888, and was operated by that company and its successors, H. J. Heinz and Fleischmann's Vinegar Company, until 1994.The property was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2015. Currently, the building is used by NoDa Brewing Company as a brewery and tasting room.

Hawthorne Academy of Health Sciences is a high school in the Belmont community of Charlotte, North Carolina. The school existed in many forms before becoming CMS’s first medical magnet program designed for a student capacity of 600–800. Renovation of the original buildings, constructed between the 1940s and 1960s, was completed in 2015 by Morris-Berg Architects of Charlotte. US News & World Report ranked Hawthorne 36th for high schools within North Carolina. Students have the opportunity to take Advanced Placement® coursework and exams. McColl Center (formerly McColl Center for Art + Innovation) is an artist residency and contemporary art space located at 721 North Tryon Street in Charlotte, North Carolina. Residencies last from two months to eleven months and are available to visual artists as well as creative people in other disciplines. The mission of McColl Center is to encourage collaboration and interaction between artists and the community at large in an immersive atmosphere.McColl Center is a 501(c)(3) organization.
