WestGate Mall is a shopping mall in Spartanburg, South Carolina, off Interstate 26 and US Highway 29 on West Blackstock Road in the city's primary shopping market. The regional mall has 954,302 square feet (88,657.6 m2) of retail space and four anchor stores: Belk, Costco, Dillard's, and JCPenney.

Hampton Heights is a neighborhood and historic district located in Spartanburg, South Carolina. Although the oldest existing home of the neighborhood dates to 1885, the majority of the homes in the neighborhood are from the 1900s to the 1930s. It is the oldest residential neighborhood in the city and one of the closest to Morgan Square, the historical center of Spartanburg. Although the neighborhood suffered from neglect and changing economics during the 1960s and 1970s, today it is a vibrant area undergoing restoration and improvement.

Daniel Morgan Monument is a historic monument located at Spartanburg, Spartanburg County, South Carolina. The statue was designed by John Quincy Adams Ward and the monument erected in 1881. The monument commemorates the centennial of the victory at the Revolutionary War Battle of Cowpens and its hero, General Daniel Morgan. The statue stands on a columnar granite shaft on an octagonal base designed by noted Charleston architect, Edward Brickell White. In 1960, the monument was moved about 100 yards across Morgan Square to its east end. However, in 2005 as part of a larger project involving the redesign and reconstruction of Morgan Square, the monument was returned to its original position at the corner of West Main and Magnolia Streets and its original orientation, facing Cowpens National Battlefield.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1980.

Cleveland Law Range is a historic office building located at Spartanburg, Spartanburg County, South Carolina. It was built in 1898–1899, and is a three-story, Richardsonian Romanesque style brick building. It features five arched bays on the ground floor, with repeated bay arrangements on the second and third floors. Three South Carolina governors maintained offices in the Cleveland Law Range: James F. Byrnes, John Gary Evans, and Donald S. Russell.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1973.

The Schuyler Apartments are a historic apartment building at 275 South Church Street in Spartanburg, South Carolina. The 13-story concrete, glass, and steel structure was designed by David W. Cecil (1921-2011) and built in 1950. The International style structure, with clean and simple lines, is a fine representative example of post-World War II construction in Spartanburg. Cecil also is known locally for the design of Spartanburg City Hall and the main branch of the Spartanburg Post Office, all three of which were for years considered eyesores. The Schuyler building has found itself placed on the National Historical Register recently in time for the grand reopening of the building. The building formerly housed subsidized families: low-income and elderly residents. Of late it has been refurbished as 'upscale' studios and one bedroom units. The building was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2014.

Hotel Oregon, also known as Oakman Drugs, Oakman Glass, and Spartan Hotel, is a historic hotel building located at Spartanburg, Spartanburg County, South Carolina. It was built in 1909, and is a three-story, brick building with two first floor storefronts. It features horizontal granite belt courses, decorative brick panels, brick cornices, and a stepped front parapet.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2001.

Central United Methodist Church is a historic church at 233 N. Church Street in Spartanburg, South Carolina.It was built in the 1880s, and remodeled in 1896 by architect George F. Barber. It was added to the National Register in 2003.

The Montgomery Building, listed on the National Register of Historic Places, is an iconic building located on Church Street in Spartanburg, Spartanburg County, South Carolina. It was built in 1924, and is a ten-story, nine-bay-wide, steel frame skyscraper faced in precast concrete. It originally housed the offices of textile companies, cotton brokers, and factories. The building also contained a theatre/auditorium space, a radio and television station. The Montgomery Building was the tallest building in Spartanburg until the 1950s. In 2016, a developer announced a $29 million plan to renovate the building for mixed-use to include apartments, offices and retail. Restoration began in Spring 2017 and was completed in December 2018.

Palmetto Theater was a historic movie theater located at Spartanburg, Spartanburg County, South Carolina. It was built in 1940–1941, and was a one-story, rectangular plan brick building. It featured a large marquee and a separate shop storefront decorated in blue Carrera-glass panels. The interior featured double balconies, Terrazzo flooring, large Art Deco light fixtures, decorative wall painting, and a plaster Art Deco screen surround.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1996. It has since been demolished.

The city had a population of 38,732 as of the 2020 census, making it the 11th-most populous city in the state. For a time, the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) grouped Spartanburg and Union counties together as the Spartanburg, SC Metropolitan Statistical Area, but the OMB now defines the Spartanburg, SC MSA as only Spartanburg County.Spartanburg is the second-largest city in the greater Greenville-Spartanburg-Anderson, SC Combined Statistical Area, which had a population of 1,487,610 in 2020. It is part of a 10-county region of northwestern South Carolina known as "The Upstate", and is located 98 miles (158 km) northwest of Columbia, 80 miles (130 km) west of Charlotte, North Carolina, and about 190 miles (310 km) northeast of Atlanta, Georgia. Spartanburg is the home of Wofford College, Converse University, Spartanburg Community College, and Edward Via College of Osteopathic Medicine and the area is home to USC Upstate, Sherman College of Chiropractic and Spartanburg Methodist College. It is also the site of headquarters for Denny's.

Spartanburg station is an Amtrak train station in Spartanburg, South Carolina, United States. It is located at 290 Magnolia Street, within walking distance of Wofford College, the Spartanburg County government administration building and the Donald S. Russell Federal Building, which includes the federal courthouse for the U.S. District Court for the District of South Carolina.

Frank Evans High School, also known as Evans Junior High School, is a historic high school building located at Spartanburg, Spartanburg County, South Carolina. It was built in 1922, with additions completed in 1925 and 1928. It is a three-story, Collegiate Gothic style, masonry school building. The school became a junior high school in 1959 when the new Spartanburg High School was built.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2012.In summer 2009, Spartanburg Community College announced plans for a downtown Spartanburg presence, utilizing the historic Evans Building. Their goal was to provide a campus that would offer convenient access for under-served city residents. Classes began in Fall 2013 at the renovated building, referred to by SCC as the Evans Academic Center.The building renovation received the 2015 Adaptive Reuse Citation Award from the American Institute of Architects’ South Carolina Chapter. The building also earned a LEED Silver certification.
