Twixlum is a village in Lower Saxony, Germany. Located to the northwest of the city, it is administratively a district (Stadtteil) of Emden. The village was incorporated as such on 1 July 1972, as were the villages of Logumer Vorwerk and Wybelsum.Twixlum has retained its village character. In the center of the village is the village church. The current church was built around 1500. The tower, which is lower than the church, is a remnant of an older church that was probably built in the fourteenth century.

Logumer Vorwerk is a village in Lower Saxony, Germany. Located to the west of the city, it is administratively a district (Stadtteil) of Emden. The village was incorporated as such on 1 July 1972, as were the villages of Wybelsum and Twixlum.The village is named after the former village of Logum that drowned in the Dollart.

Groß Midlum is about 5 kilometers to the north of Emden. The addition Groß ("large") distinguishes the village from the smaller Midlum in nearby Rheiderland. The village, built on a warft, was first mentioned in the 10th century. It has a medieval church from the 13th century.

Large industry and shipbuilding companies are located at Emden harbor, among them Volkswagen, Nordseewerke, ThyssenKrupp Marine Systems, Cassens and many others.

Kunsthalle Emden (Henri and Eske Nannen Foundation, Donation Otto Van de loo) is a German art museum in Emden in East Frisia, Germany.The museum's collections include more than 1,500 works.

Westerhusen is about 5 kilometers to the north of Emden. The Church of Westerhusen from the 15th century is located in the middle of the warft on which the village is built. The church had a Romanesque predecessor from the 13th century. The church organ in this building dates from 1643.
