Ścięgny [ˈɕt͡ɕɛɡnɨ] is a village in the administrative district of Gmina Podgórzyn, within Jelenia Góra County, Lower Silesian Voivodeship, in south-western Poland.It lies approximately 13 km (8 mi) south of Jelenia Góra, and 97 km (60 mi) south-west of the regional capital Wrocław. The village was first mentioned in a document of the Wrocław cathedral chapter from 1305, when it was part of fragmented Piast-ruled Poland.There is a memorial to Wacław Koler, 16th-century philologist and physician, one of the pioneers of Polish Hellenic studies and one of Poland's first numismatists, who was born in the village.

It lies approximately 14 kilometres (9 mi) south-east of Jelenia Góra, and 93 kilometres (58 mi) south-west of the regional capital Wrocław. The town is famed for its sanatoriums and a miniature park displaying architectural monuments of the Lower Silesian region.

Kostrzyca [kɔsˈtʂɨt͡sa] is a village in the administrative district of Gmina Mysłakowice, within Jelenia Góra County, Lower Silesian Voivodeship, in south-western Poland.It lies approximately 4 kilometres (2 mi) south-east of Mysłakowice, 11 km (7 mi) south-east of Jelenia Góra, and 93 km (58 mi) west of the regional capital Wrocław.

Okraj (el. 1,046 m or 3,432 ft) is a mountain pass in Poland and the Czech Republic, on the eastern end of Karkonosze, separating two side ranges of the mountains. Former checkpoint, dismounted in 2007 after the implementation of the Schengen Agreement.There are Polish and Czech mountain huts as well as some hotels and restaurants on the Czech side, belonging to the village of Malá Úpa. The pass is accessible with the tarmac road from both sides. The road, connecting Jelenia Góra and Trutnov was built by Germans in 1937; the next year it was used to invade Czechoslovakia. Hiking and mountain bike trails connect this place to towns and villages in valleys; bus connection also is available.

Karpacz (Polish: [ˈkarpat͡ʂ] , German: Krummhübel) is a spa town and ski resort in Jelenia Góra County, Lower Silesian Voivodeship, south-western Poland, and one of the most important centres for mountain hiking and skiing, including ski jumping. Its population is about 4,500. Karpacz is situated in the Karkonosze Mountains – a resort with increasing importance for tourism as an alternative to the Alps.Karpacz is located at 480 to 885 metres (1,575–2,904 ft) above sea level. South of Karpacz on the border to the Czech Republic there is Mount Sněžka-Śnieżka (1,602 m (5,256 ft)). Since 2020, the town has been hosting the annual international Economic Forum.

Bukowiec [buˈkɔvjɛt͡s] is a village in the administrative district of Gmina Mysłakowice, within Jelenia Góra County, Lower Silesian Voivodeship, in south-western Poland.It lies approximately 4 kilometres (2 mi) south-east of Mysłakowice, 11 km (7 mi) south-east of Jelenia Góra, and 92 km (57 mi) west of the regional capital Wrocław. The landmarks of Bukowiec are the Gothic Saint Martin church, the Baroque Saint John the Baptist church, and the Neoclassical palace complex with an adjacent park and an observation tower. During World War II the Germans established and operated a subcamp of the Gross-Rosen concentration camp at the local sanatorium, whose prisoners were Jews.

Czarna Kopa (Czech Svorová hora, 1407 m a.s.l., German: Schwarze Koppe) is a mountain peak situated in the eastern part of Karkonosze on Polish and Czech border within the Karkonosze National Park on the Polish–Czech Friendship Trail. The peak area is exposed and windy.

Grzbiet Lasocki (Czech: Pomezní hřeben) is a mountain ridge in the eastern part of the Giant Mountains within the Western Sudetes. It is located on the Czech-Polish border. It is a small, 4 km long geomorphological formation. It is formed from metamorphic rocks. Grzbiet Lasocki formed part of the Czech-Polish border since the 10th century. In 1292, Duke Bolko I the Strict of the Piast dynasty granted the Polish part of Grzbiet Lasocki to the Cistercian Krzeszów Abbey.
