Lake Grivița

Dămăroaia is a district in the north side of Bucharest, Romania in Sector 1. RATB bus 331 and tram 24 serve the area. Prior to 1918, when it was purchased by the government, the area belonged to the Stoicescu family. The land began to be sold off in 1926, and starting in 1931, a large number of Căile Ferate Române employees moved there. In 1939, it was incorporated into Grivița Commune, which became part of Bucharest in 1950.A chapel was built in 1931, and a school was begun the following year. The Dămăroaia Church dates to 1946. Soviet-style apartment blocks were built on unoccupied land in the late 1950s. A further round of block construction came about in the late 1960s.

Bucureștii Noi (Romanian: [bukuˌreʃtij ˈnoj], New Bucharest) is a district situated in the north-west of Bucharest, Romania, in Sector 1.

Străulești is a metro station in northern Bucharest, serving Bucharest Metro Line M4. It is the northern terminus of the line. Although it was supposed to be opened on 19 December 2016, as part of Stage III of M4 line, Metrorex decide it to postpone it until the first half of 2017 due to safety issues. The station was opened on 31 March 2017 as part of the extension of the line from Parc Bazilescu. It is located near the north-western exist of Bucharest towards Mogoșoaia and includes a new metro depot and a park & ride. Its main purpose is to encourage the people working in Bucharest to park their cars at the entrance of the city and continue their ride with the public transport.

Laminorului, originally called Laromet is a metro station in northern Bucharest, serving Bucharest Metro Line M4. Parc Bazilescu is a metro station in northern Bucharest, serving Bucharest Metro Line M4. The station was opened on 1 July 2011 as part of the extension from 1 Mai. On 31 March 2017 the line was extended to Straulesti.

Jiului is a metro station in the Pajura district of northern Bucharest, Romania, serving Bucharest Metro's M4 Line. The station was opened on 1 July 2011 as part of the extension from 1 Mai to Parc Bazilescu.The station is named after a nearby street. Before the opening, the name was changed from the proposed Pajura because the latter was deemed more suitable for a future M6 station located in the same district, but more centrally.

Lake Băneasa (Romanian: Lacul Băneasa) is a reservoir on the Colentina River at Băneasa in Sector 1 of Bucharest, Romania. The lake has a length of 3 kilometers (1.9 miles), a width between 50 meters (160 feet) and 400 meters (1,300 feet), a surface area of 40 hectares (0.40 km2), a depth between 1 meter (3.3 feet) and 3 meters (9.8 feet), a volume of 630,000 cubic meters (22,000,000 cubic feet) and a debit of 2.5 m/s.

1 Mai is a metro station in northern Bucharest, serving line M4. It is situated in Chibrit or Clăbucet Square, at the intersection of Calea Griviței, Ion Mihalache Boulevard, and Bucureștii Noi Road. The station was opened on 1 March 2000, as part of Stage I of the M4 line, from Gara de Nord to 1 Mai. On 1 July 2011, the line was extended to Parc Bazilescu.

Romexpo, also known as Romexpo Dome or Romexpo Town, is a large exhibition center and indoor arena in Bucharest, Romania. It is primarily used for exhibitions, concerts, and sporting events. The complex also hosts more than 140 other exhibits and trade shows every year. It is 303,234 square metres (3,263,980 sq ft), houses 100,000 square metres (1,100,000 sq ft) under roof, spread throughout 11 pavilions.It is close to other Bucharest landmarks, including the Bucharest World Trade Center, City Gate Towers, and the House of the Free Press. In 2018, it covered an exhibition area of 143,000 square meters. There were over 142,000 participants, including 3,500 exhibiting companies from 45 countries.In September 2020, the Chamber of Deputies passed a law to hand the area over to Chamber of Commerce and Industry, allowing a private investment to develop a roughly €3 billion real estate project on the land. Iulius Group plans a gigantic complex that will include 14 new buildings with various purposes: offices, residential, hotels, commercial spaces and museums, plus 12,000 parking spaces.

Bright Light is the codename of one of the Central Intelligence Agency's network of black sites—clandestine interrogation centers. The location of the site, in Bucharest, Romania, was confirmed in an exclusive report from the Associated Press on December 8, 2011.Some of the most important captives in the high value detainee program, including Khalid Sheikh Mohammed, the mastermind of the September 11 attacks, were held there. Other sites in the CIA's network were in isolated locations. The Bucharest site was housed within the campus of the Romanian National Registry Office for Classified Information, explaining the need for high security. The cells the captive were held in were mounted on springs, to keep the captives off balance. According to ABC News captives were subjected to "enhanced interrogation techniques" in the Bucharest site, but were not subjected to the controversial technique of waterboarding.

The House of the Free Press (Romanian: Casa Presei Libere) is a building in northern Bucharest, Romania, the tallest in the city between 1956 and 2007.
