Strandvägen is a waterfront on Östermalm in central Stockholm, Sweden. Completed just in time for the Stockholm World's Fair 1897, it quickly became known as one of the most prestigious addresses in town. Stretching 1 km (3.500 ft) east from Nybroplan, Strandvägen is intercepted by (west to east) Arsenalsgatan, Nybrogatan, Sibyllegatan, Artillerigatan, Skeppargatan, Grevgatan, Styrmansgatan, Grev Magnigatan, Torstenssonsgatan, Banérgatan, Narvavägen, Djurgårdsbron, Storgatan, Ulrikagatan, and Oxenstiernsgatan. It has four parallel streets: Almlöfsgatan, Väpnargatan, Kaptensgatan, and Riddargatan. Hamngatan forms a continuation in its western end, as do Djurgårdsbrunnsvägen in its eastern end. The Djurgården heritage tramway passes over Strandvägen. The waters south of the street are named Nybroviken, Ladugårdslandsviken, and Djurgårdsbrunnsviken.

Torstenssonsgatan, Östermalm, Stockholm, Sweden, stretches between Strandvägen and Storgatan. The street is crossed by Riddargatan. Torstenssonsgatan is a wide and short avenue (about 200 meter) with linden trees. In the extension of the street is The Museum of National Antiquities (Historiska Museet). The street is a not a through street to Strandvägen.

Junibacken is a children’s attraction, founded by Staffan Götestam, Fredrik Uhrström and Peder Wallenberg. It is situated on the island of Djurgården in the centre of Stockholm, Sweden. It was officially opened by the Swedish Royal Family on 8 June 1996. It is Stockholm’s 5th most-visited tourist attraction. It is devoted to Swedish children’s literature, but especially Astrid Lindgren. Outside the building is a bronze statue of Lindgren. The art direction and images for the interior design were made by Swedish artist Marit Törnqvist, who had previously made illustrations for more recent versions of Lindgren's books.Junibacken contains the largest children’s bookstore in Sweden. The lockers in the entrance hall are unusual in that each is in the form of a giant book-spine, featuring world classics such as Treasure Island and The Jungle Book. Other main attractions include a Storybook Square, a mock public square where each house is devoted to a separate Swedish children’s author (other than Lindgren), from the earliest writers such as Elsa Beskow to recent writers such as Sven Nordqvist. The square ends at a mock Vimmerby railway station. The station also presents framed copies of Lindgren memorabilia, including a glowing letter of praise for Lindgren from then president of the Soviet Union Mikhail Gorbachev. From the station visitors then take a theme-train ride through the world of Astrid Lindgren’s books, with one “stage setting” for each of her well-known works, such as Madicken, Karlsson-on-the-Roof, Ronia the Robber's Daughter, Emil i Lönneberga, and The Brothers Lionheart. The train ride ends at a half-side reconstruction of Villa Villekulla, the home of Lindgren's most well-known character, Pippi Longstocking. It also includes a theatre, restaurant and temporary exhibition space. The temporary exhibition space is usually devoted to a single author or character and normally remains in place for 11 months. Among the most popular of the temporary exhibitions have been Pettson and Findus, and Trazan och Banarne. Junibacken is not a museum according to ICOM's definition because it has no collections. It is, however, a member of both Swedish ICOM and Riksförbundet Sveriges museer.

Riddargatan is a street in central Stockholm, the capital of Sweden. The Artillery and Engineering College was located at Riddargatan 13 from 1885 to 1926 and the Swedish Army Museum is now based in the same building.

The Swedish History Museum (Swedish: Historiska museet or Statens historiska museum) is a museum located in Stockholm, Sweden, that covers Swedish archaeology and cultural history from the Mesolithic period to present day. Founded in 1866, it operates as a government agency and is tasked with preserving Swedish historical items as well as making knowledge about history available to the public. The origin of the museum is the collections of art and historical objects gathered by Swedish monarchs since the 16th century. It has a number of permanent exhibitions and annually hosts special exhibitions tied to current events.

The Swedish National Heritage Board (Swedish: Riksantikvarieämbetet; RAÄ) is a Swedish government agency responsible for World Heritage Sites and other national heritage monuments and historical environments. It is governed by the Ministry of Culture.The goals of the agency are to encourage the preservation and protection of historic environments and to promote the respect for and knowledge of historic environments. In order to do this, it tries to ensure that Swedish heritage is accessible to all citizens, to spread information about that heritage, and to "empower heritage as a force in the evolution of a democratic, sustainable society".

Maximteatern, called "Maxim" in English or The Maxim Theatre, has been a popular private theatre at Karlaplan in central Stockholm, Sweden since the 1960s. Originally named the Karlaplansstudion, it was designed as a theatre for film screenings. The house was built in 1945–46 by architect Ernst Grönvall. It was originally used as a studio by Swedish Radio who aired the popular radio shows Karusellen (The Carousel) and Frukostklubben (The Breakfast Club) from there in the 1940s and 1950s. In 1963, The Beatles played their first gig outside of the United Kingdom and Germany there; the performance was included on the Anthology 1 compilation album in 1995. In 1967 the studio was rebuilt into a theatre and movie theatre, but from the 1970s onwards has run exclusively as a theatre. In the 1980s, the Limabrall company took over the management of Maximteatern. Behind Limabrall were Lill Lindfors, Magnus Härenstam, Brasse Brännström and Aller Johansson – all well-known names in the Swedish entertainment industry. Productions such as SPÖK, Omaka par (The Odd Couple), Skål (Cheers) and Arsenik och gamla spetsar (Arsenic and Old Lace) were among the most successful productions in the 1980s and 1990s. Since 2003 the theatre has been run by a company called Proscenia.

Östermalm is a borough (stadsdelsområde) in central Stockholm,Sweden. It is named after the dominating district. Except Östermalm (proper) there are four districts in the borough: Djurgården, Hjorthagen, Ladugårdsgärdet (popularly known as Gärdet), and Norra Djurgården. Note that a portion of northern Östermalm is organized in Norrmalm borough. The population as of 2014 is 70,779 on an area of 18.00 km², which gives a density of 3,932.17/km².

Östermalm (Swedish pronunciation: [œstɛrˈmalm]; "Eastern city-borough") is a 2.56 km2 large district in central Stockholm, Sweden. With 71,802 inhabitants, it is one of the most populous districts in Stockholm. It is an extremely expensive area, having the highest housing prices in Sweden.

Hedvig Eleonora Parish (Swedish: Hedvig Eleonora församling) is a parish in Östermalm's church district (kontrakt) in the Diocese of Stockholm, Sweden. The parish is located in Stockholm Municipality in Stockholm County. The parish forms its own pastorship.

Teater Galeasen is an independent Swedish theatre group based at Skeppsholmen in Stockholm. It was founded in 1983. Teater Galeasen is known for their singular, avant-garde and experimental productions of both classic and contemporary dramatic work. They work with freelance actors and directors.

Hedvig Eleonora Church (Swedish: Hedvig Eleonora kyrka) is a church in central Stockholm, Sweden. It is located at Östermalm and belongs to the Church of Sweden and is parish church for Hedvig Eleonora Parish in the Diocese of Stockholm. The church was consecrated on 21 August 1737 and is named after the Swedish Queen Hedvig Eleonora (1636–1715), wife of King Charles X of Sweden. Hedvig Eleonora Church is an octagonal church. The church is one of Stockholm's most popular for weddings, christenings and funerals.
