North Fork is the largest tributary of San Pedro Creek in Pacifica, San Mateo County, California in the San Francisco Bay Area. North fork enters San Pedro Creek from the northeast less than 0.5 mile downstream from the junction of South Fork and Middle Fork.

The San Francisco Bay Discovery Site is a marker commemorating the first recorded European sighting of San Francisco Bay. In 1769, the Portola expedition traveled north by land from San Diego, seeking to establish a base at the Port of Monterey described by Sebastian Vizcaino in 1602. When they reached Monterey, however, they were not sure it was the right place and decided to continue north. The party reached San Pedro Creek on October 31 and camped there for four nights, while scouts led by José Francisco Ortega climbed Sweeney Ridge, where they could see over the ridge toward the east, and so became the first Europeans to see San Francisco Bay on November 1. The scouts returned on November 3, and led the entire party up to the ridge on November 4. Franciscan missionary Juan Crespi noted in his diary, "from the summit of a peak we beheld the great estuary or arm of the sea." After seeing the immense bay to the east, and having learned from the scouts that further progress to the north would be blocked by the Golden Gate, the party turned southeast and descended toward the bay. Sweeney Ridge is located in northern San Mateo County and is now a part of the Golden Gate National Recreation Area. The site is both a California Historical Landmark and a National Historic Landmark. The spot chosen for the marker is somewhat arbitrary, as the precise location where Portola's party reached the summit of the ridge is not known. The landmarked area encompasses two of the highest knolls on the ridge.As of October, 2020, the marker has been vandalized, with Portolà’s name and the date of the discovery chiseled away.

Sweeney Ridge, is a 1,200-acre (5 km2) hilly hiking area of ridges and ravines between San Bruno and Pacifica, California, about a 25-minute drive south from San Francisco. The ridge's 1,200-foot-high summit, covered with coastal scrub and grassland, slopes down to San Francisco Bay on the east and to the Pacific Ocean on the west. The ridge is part of the Golden Gate National Recreation Area. Historically, the ridge is the location of the San Francisco Bay Discovery Site, commemorating the Portolá expedition's first sighting of San Francisco Bay on November 4, 1769 (expedition scouts actually made the discovery a few days earlier).

Pacific Bay Christian School, formerly Alma Heights Christian Academy, is a private Christian middle and high school in Pacifica, California, United States. It was founded by Pillar of Fire International as a segregation academy. In 2018, the school disassociated with Pillar of Fire and reopened as Pacific Bay Christian School.

KMVS (89.3 FM) is a non-commercial radio station owned by Educational Media Foundation in Moss Beach, California. It's branded as "K-Love". The station started on August 30, 2010. First, it played a classic rock format, later it evolved in 2012 into an adult hits format playing music from the 1980s-now. On June 12, 2015, KARC changed their call letters to KRSA and shifted its format to adult contemporary, branded as "Relax 103.3". It can be heard in Pacifica, Moss Beach, San Francisco Sunset District, Daly City, Colma, Burlingame, Brisbane, San Bruno, Millbrae, San Mateo, South San Francisco, and Half Moon Bay. On October 23, 2017, KRSA changed their format to Christian Contemporary, branded as K-Love. Effective December 11, 2017, Educational Media Foundation acquired the station from Educational Public Radio, Inc., at a purchase price of $25,000. The station changed its call sign to KMVS on December 22, 2017.

The San Pedro y San Pablo Asistencia is an asistencia or "sub-mission" to Mission San Francisco de Asís in the San Pedro Valley in Pacifica, California. Established in 1786 at the Ohlone village of Pruristac, the site is located within the bounds of the Rancho San Pedro (home to the Sánchez Adobe).

The Sánchez Adobe Park, home to the Sánchez Adobe, is located in Pacifica, California, at 1000 Linda Mar Boulevard, on the north bank of San Pedro Creek, approximately 0.91 miles (1,470 m) from the Pacific Ocean in Linda Mar Valley. The 5.46-acre (2.21 ha) county park, established in 1947 contains the Sanchez Adobe Historical site, designated a National Register Historical District in 1976 and is California registered landmark 391.

San Andrés Creek (Spanish for: St. Andrew's Creek), now called San Andreas Creek, is a perennial stream that flows 5.9 miles (9.5 km) southeasterly along the San Andreas Fault from Sweeney Ridge in San Mateo County, California, providing the inflow to and outflow from San Andreas Reservoir, and then entering Lower Crystal Springs Reservoir, where it was a historic tributary to San Mateo Creek. San Mateo Creek then carries its waters over Crystal Springs Dam northeast to San Francisco Bay.
