The Granton Shrimp Bed is a fossil-bearing deposit exposed on the southern shore of the Firth of Forth near Edinburgh, in Scotland. It is classified as a Konservat-Lagerstätten because of the exceptional quality of preservation of the fossils and is dominated by crustaceans; the deposit dates back to the Lower Carboniferous, some 359 to 323 million years ago.

Civil Service Strollers Football Club are a senior non-league football team from Edinburgh, Scotland currently playing in the Lowland League. The Strollers play their home games at Christie Gillies Park. Their home strip colours are red, with white shorts and red socks. The team is currently managed by Gary Jardine.

Edinburgh College (Scottish Gaelic: Colaiste Dhùn Èideann) is a further and higher education institution with campuses in Edinburgh and Midlothian, Scotland. It serves the Edinburgh Region, Edinburgh, East Lothian and Midlothian, and is the largest college in Scotland. It was formed on 1 October 2012 as part of the merger of Edinburgh's Jewel and Esk, Telford, and Stevenson colleges. Martello Court is a residential building and one of the tallest buildings in Edinburgh, Scotland. It is 64 metres (210 ft) high, with 23 floors. It is on Pennywell Gardens in Muirhouse, in the north-west of the city. It was known as the Terror Tower in the 1970s and 1980s because of the crime around it.

Granton Gasworks railway station was a private railway station built to serve the Granton Gasworks in Granton, Edinburgh, Scotland that operated from 1902 to 1942. After laying vacant for decades, the station was brought back into use in 2023 as Granton Station Creative Works, a creative enterprise hub operated by the arts charity Wasps.

Caroline Park is a 17th-century mansion in the Granton area of Edinburgh. It was constructed between 1683 and 1696 for Sir George Mackenzie, 1st Viscount Tarbat, and his wife Anna. It is protected as a category A listed building for its "sophisticated French-influenced principal (south) elevation and some very fine intact internal features".

The Granton Waterfront regeneration is a redevelopment of parts of Edinburgh along the shores of the Firth of Forth in Granton. There are three main landowners: Arcus (formerly Forth Ports), National Grid plc and City of Edinburgh Council. Since the area was masterplanned in the early 2000s it has undergone significant change with approximately 1400 new homes in the Granton area, new food retail stores, the new Telford College at Granton, and approximately 16,000 square metres (170,000 sq ft) of commercial office space. A new road, Waterfront Avenue, has been constructed at Granton along with a 110 acres (45 ha) public park as part of National Grid's Forthquarter development. Following the recession of 2008 a new Area Development Framework has been prepared by the planning authority reflecting a flexible approach to future development. A new waterside promenade has started which will link the river Almond at Cramond to the Esk at Joppa allowing access to 18 kilometres of walkway/cycleway.

House o'Hill Halt railway station served the area of House o Hill, Edinburgh, Scotland, from 1937 to 1951 on the Barnton Branch.

Drylaw is an area in the north west of Edinburgh, the capital of Scotland, located between Blackhall and Granton. It forms the community of Drylaw–Telford. Drylaw used to belong to the younger branch of the Foresters of Corstorphine. Formerly the estate of Drylaw House, built in 1718, the home of the Loch family, the area became the site of a major housing scheme in the 1950s designed to rehouse the occupants of Leith. It is on the A902 road. Its name comes from the Scots language and means "hill without a spring".

Pilton is a residential area of northern Edinburgh, Scotland. It is to the north of Ferry Road, immediately east of Muirhouse, and to the west and south of Granton (the Boswall, Royston Mains and Wardieburn neighbourhoods).
