Southgate tube station

Southgate is a suburban area of North London, England in the London Borough of Enfield. It is located around 8 miles (13 km) north of Charing Cross. The name is derived from being the south gate to Enfield Chase.

Minchenden School was a mixed secondary school situated in Southgate, North London, established in 1919 with 90 pupils. Established in 1919, it merged with Arnos School in 1984.

Southgate House is a grade II* listed building in Southgate, London. Built in the late 18th century, it was once the home of Isaac Walker, father of the Walker brothers, and later of John Lawrence, 1st Baron Lawrence.From 1924 to 1987 it formed part of Minchenden School. It has since been part of Barnet and Southgate College.

Southgate Methodist Church is a Methodist church in The Bourne, Southgate, north London. The church was built in 1929, replacing a building on Chase Side.

St Andrew's Southgate is an Edwardian Church of England church in Chase Side, Southgate, London. It was built in 1903 and consecrated in 1913. It replaced a chapel-of-ease (to the then parish church Christ Church, Southgate) sited in nearby Farm Road since the 1870s, which became known as St Andrew's in the 1890s. St Andrews's gained parish status in 1928.

The Walker Cricket Ground is a trust-operated multi-sport ground at Southgate, in the borough of Enfield and the historic county of Middlesex, London, England. There are three cricket fields, cricket pavilions for two clubs. There are four outdoor tennis courts, and accommodation for rugby union, lacrosse, squash, racketball, hockey, junior-level football, and scout clubs. The ground, previously Chapel Fields, is named after John Walker, the Middlesex player who founded the ground. It was first used by the Middlesex County Cricket Club 1st XI in 1859, but had to wait until 1991 for its next county match, and until 1998 to become a regular Middlesex venue. The ground is used by Southgate Cricket Club and Southgate Adelaide Cricket Club. Arnoside House and Essex House are adjoining grade II* listed buildings on The Green, Southgate, London.The walls and railings at the front of the houses are also grade II* listed, while Arnoside Cottage to the west is grade II listed.

40 The Green is a grade II listed building on The Green, Southgate, London. The house dates from the early nineteenth century with later alterations. It bears a local blue plaque that reads, "In 1881 this house became the first seat of local government in Southgate", referring to the separation of Southgate from Edmonton in that year.

Southgate Cemetery, sometimes known as Edmonton and Southgate Cemetery or Old Southgate Cemetery, is a cemetery in Waterfall Road, Southgate, London, run by the London Borough of Enfield. The cemetery was established by the Southgate Burial Board in 1880. There is no chapel at the cemetery but Christ Church, Southgate, Church of England church is adjacent on the other side of Waterfall Road. The cemetery contains the war graves of 92 Commonwealth service personnel, 20 from World War I and 72 from World War II.

Ashmole Academy (formerly Ashmole School) is a secondary school with academy status in Southgate, England in the London Borough of Barnet. Under the direction of the headteacher Tim Sullivan, around 1,800 pupils (550 in the Sixth form) are educated in ages 11–18. Pupils come from a wide range of minority ethnic heritages and a greater than usual number of pupils speak English as an additional language. In January 2007, Ofsted gave an overall rating of the school as Grade 1 Outstanding, the highest available assessment for a UK school.
