Southgate House

Southgate is a suburban area of North London, England in the London Borough of Enfield. It is located around 8 miles (13 km) north of Charing Cross. The name is derived from being the south gate to Enfield Chase.

Minchenden School was a mixed secondary school situated in Southgate, North London, established in 1919 with 90 pupils. Established in 1919, it merged with Arnos School in 1984.

Southgate is a London Underground Piccadilly line station in Southgate. It is located between Arnos Grove and Oakwood stations and is in Travelcard Zone 4.

It bears a local blue plaque that reads, "In 1881 this house became the first seat of local government in Southgate", referring to the separation of Southgate from Edmonton in that year.

The Walker Cricket Ground is a trust-operated multi-sport ground at Southgate, in the borough of Enfield and the historic county of Middlesex, London, England. There are three cricket fields, cricket pavilions for two clubs. There are four outdoor tennis courts, and accommodation for rugby union, lacrosse, squash, racketball, hockey, junior-level football, and scout clubs. The ground, previously Chapel Fields, is named after John Walker, the Middlesex player who founded the ground. It was first used by the Middlesex County Cricket Club 1st XI in 1859, but had to wait until 1991 for its next county match, and until 1998 to become a regular Middlesex venue. The ground is used by Southgate Cricket Club and Southgate Adelaide Cricket Club. Oakbeams is a grade II listed house on The Green, Southgate, London. Built in 1929–31, it was designed by architect Paul Badcock for George Cole, a graphic designer and artist's agent. Historic England describe Oakbeams as "an unusually elaborate example of a 'Stockbroker Tudor' inter-war suburban house".The listing includes the surrounding walls and ironwork which includes the words "OAKBEAMS MCMXXIX" in the upper central panel.

Minchington Hall, or Mincington Hall, or Minchenden House, was a country house and estate in Southgate, then in the county of Middlesex in England, and now in Greater London. It was on Southgate Green and the south side of Waterfall Road, and adjoined Arnolds (Arnos Grove) slightly further east, which was originally less significant than Minchington. The estate was merged into Arnos Grove in 1853 and the house demolished.

The Valentine Poole houses are a terrace of grade II listed houses on The Green, Southgate, London. The houses were built in 1780 by the Valentine Poole Trust for the poor of Barnet. The architect was Michael Searles. The buildings were saved from demolition by Southgate Civic Trust and renovated by Peake Estates Limited in 1981.
