Madderty railway station

Inchaffray Abbey was situated by the village of Madderty, midway between Perth and Crieff in Strathearn, Scotland. The only traces now visible are an earth mound and some walls on rising ground which once (before drainage) formed an island where the abbey once stood (the surrounding marshes known for eels).

Madderty is a village in Strathearn, Perth and Kinross. It lies on the former railway line connecting Perth and Crieff. The Gask Ridge and its Roman road lie to the south and the remains of Inchaffray Abbey to the north. Madderty is mentioned in a charter of about 1200, at which time there was a church dedicated to Saint Ethernan in the village. The prominent agricultural zoologist Dr Daniel MacLagan FRSE (1904-1991) was born on Williamstone Farm here and later ran the farm.

Fowlis Wester, also spelt Fowlis-Wester, is a small village in Perth and Kinross, Scotland. It is around 6 kilometres (3.7 mi) east of Crieff and 19 kilometres (12 mi) west of Perth. The parish of Fowlis Wester includes the Abercairny estate to the south-west. The 13th-century parish church is dedicated to Saint Bean and was restored in 1927. The category B listed building retains original medieval features including a leper's squint. Inside the church is an 8th-century Pictish cross-slab, a replica of which stands in the village square. The slab is carved with a Celtic cross on one side, and the other side bears typically Pictish symbols as well as carvings of animals and people.

Strathearn or Strath Earn (, from Scottish Gaelic: Srath Èireann) is the strath of the River Earn, in Scotland, extending from Loch Earn in the West to the River Tay in the east. Strathearn was one of the original provinces of the Kingdom of Alba, and was led by a mormaer and then an Earl. The province was bounded on the north by Atholl, north west by Breadalbane, south west by Menteith, south east by Fife, and on the east by Perthia.

Abercairney railway station served the Abercairny estates in the Scottish county of Perth and Kinross.

North Mains is a henge in Strathearn on Strathallan Estate between Crieff and Auchterarder in Perthshire, Scotland (not in the valley known as Strathallan). It was excavated in 1979 and the final report was published in 1983.Like most henges North Mains saw use over many centuries. Prior to the construction of the henge two pits were dug and a cremation burial were placed at the site. The henge ditch and one timber circle seem to have been contemporary. There was a second timber circle. A series of burials was dug into and around the henge enclosure. An early Christian cemetery was later dug into the enclosed area. The Scottish poet Kathleen Jamie worked on the excavation of the site in 1979, and wrote about her experiences in her 2012 book Sightlines, in an essay entitled "The Woman in the Field".

Montrose Mausoleum is located in the Scottish village of Aberuthven, Perth and Kinross. Dating to 1736, it is a Category A listed building. It stands in the kirkyard of St Kattan's Church.It is believed architect William Adam allowed his 15-year-old son, John, to do some work on the structure, for his name is in an inscription in its northern wall.Several Dukes of Montrose are interred in the structure, including James Graham (1682–1742), the last being in 1836.

Abercairny is an estate in the Scottish region of Perth and Kinross. It had the distinction of a short visit by Queen Victoria 12 September 1842, when she wished to see the mansion house, then under construction. The estate, owned by the Moray family since the 13th century, is 4 miles (6 kilometres) east of Crieff. It is included in the Inventory of Gardens and Designed Landscapes in Scotland.

Aberuthven (; Gaelic: Obar Ruadhainn) is a small village in Perth and Kinross, Scotland. It lies approximately 2+1⁄2 miles (4 kilometres) northeast of Auchterarder and 10 miles (16 kilometres) southwest of Perth at an elevation of 128 feet (39 metres). It lies on the A824 road, formerly the A9, having been bypassed along with Auchterarder since 1983. The village is centred on the village hall, with a historic church just outside the village. The population has almost doubled in recent years.

Findo Gask is a small village in Perth and Kinross in Scotland, just off the main A9 road. It is in Strathearn. There are nearby remains associated with the Roman Road to the south and the Roman Frontier on the Gask Ridge. The area was associated with the family of Laurence Oliphant, and his daughter, the songwriter Lady Nairne, was born there.During the Second World War, units of the Polish Army were stationed at Findo Gask Airfield (now disused).The woodlands around Findo Gask are known to be excellent sites for the collection of truffles, particularly black truffles, and truffle hunters can often be observed there during certain seasons.Gask House was built here in 1801 designed by Richard Crichton a pupil of Robert Adam.

The Community School of Auchterarder (TCSoA) (formerly Auchterarder High School) is a small to medium-sized school with a nursery, primary and secondary department located in Auchterarder, Perth and Kinross, Scotland. The school also contains a modern leisure complex consisting of a large indoor hall and outside all-weather courts, which is also home to Auchterarder Gymnastics Club. The school continues to grow with more than 500 pupils in both Primary and Secondary. The building of various housing developments in the local area have contributed to the increasing roll. In addition to the Primary pupils within the Community School of Auchterarder, the feeder schools for the Secondary are Dunning Primary, Aberuthven Primary and Blackford Primary. Aytoun Hall, also referred to as Auchterarder Town Hall, is a municipal building in the High Street, Auchterarder, Perth and Kinross, Scotland. The structure, which is currently used as community events venue, is a Category C listed building.
