Buon Gusto Sausage Factory is a historic building completed in 1948 located in the North Beach neighborhood of San Francisco, California. It was designed in an International Style by master architect Martin J. Rist.

Miss Smith's Tea Room was a gay and lesbian bar in operation from 1954 to 1960 in the North Beach neighborhood at 1353 Grant Avenue in San Francisco, California, U.S.. It was a lesbian pickup spot, known for its Wednesday poetry nights and was a hangout for Beat poets. It is considered a pioneering gay bar, and had historically faced legal issues in order to maintain operations.

The Paper Doll Club, also known as Paper Doll, was a queer bar and supper club in operation from 1949 to 1961, and located at the corner of Cadell Place and Union Street (now 524 Union Street) in the North Beach neighborhood in San Francisco, California. It is believed to be one of the earliest lesbian bars in the city. The former building is a designated a San Francisco Designated Landmark since 2019.

The Barbary Coast Trail is a marked trail that connects a series of historic sites and several local history museums in San Francisco, California. Approximately 180 bronze medallions and arrows embedded in the sidewalk mark the 3.8-mile (6.1 km) trail. The historic sites of the Barbary Coast Trail relate primarily to the period from the California Gold Rush of 1849 to the Earthquake and Fire of 1906, a period when San Francisco grew from a small village to an important shipping port. Sites along the trail include the Old Mint, a national historic landmark; Union Square; Maiden Lane; Old St. Mary's Cathedral, first Catholic cathedral West of the Rockies; T'ien Hou temple, one of the oldest still-operating Chinese temples in the United States; Wells Fargo History Museum; Pony Express headquarters site; Jackson Square Historic District, which contains the last cluster of Gold Rush and Barbary Coast-era buildings in San Francisco; The Old Ship Saloon, once a shanghaiing den; Coit Tower; Fisherman's Wharf; SF Maritime National Historical Park, which maintains a large collection of historic ships; and Ghirardelli Square. Each end of the Barbary Coast Trail is connected by the Hyde-Powell cable car line, itself a national historic landmark.

Saint Francis of Assisi Church is a historic Norman Gothic Catholic church building in the North Beach neighborhood of San Francisco, California, United States. Its an early church in California, outside of the Spanish missions. It is also known as the St. Francis Parish, and the National Shrine of St. Francis of Assisi. It has been listed as a San Francisco Designated Landmark (no. 5) since September 3, 1968. On October 1, 1972, the building was declared to be a landmark by the California Historical Society; and in September 1999, it became known as the National Shrine of St. Francis of Assisi. It is a Pro-cathedral of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of San Francisco.

Tony's Pizza Napoletana is a pizzeria located in San Francisco, California on Stockton Street which serves Neapolitan styled pizza. In 2015, it was considered the 5th highest rated pizzeria in the United States by TripAdvisor.Tony's has three different types of oven used for various forms of pizza.

Caffè Trieste is an internationally known coffeehouse, retail store, and former franchise in San Francisco. The original cafe, opened in 1956, was the first espresso-based coffeehouse on the West Coast of the United States. Caffe Trieste is considered a San Francisco institution and a local hub for poets, writers, and beat culture.

Molinari Delicatessen is a delicatessen in San Francisco, California's North Beach, established in 1896, making it one of the oldest delis in the United States. They make their own brand of salami, as P.G. Molinari and Sons, Inc, which is sold nationwide, and which won a gold medal award in Italy.

The Saloon, located at 1232 Grant Avenue in North Beach, is currently the oldest tavern of San Francisco and for decades has offered dancing and live music.

Rose Pistola was an Italian restaurant in the North Beach neighborhood in San Francisco. Specializing in cuisine from the Ligurian region of Italy, it opened in 1996 and received the James Beard Foundation Award for Best New Restaurant the following year. The restaurant was named after Rose "Pistola" Evangelisti and a popular local bar she owned from the 1950s to the 1970s; chef Reed Hearon and co-owner Laurie Thomas purchased the rights from Evangelisti for an undisclosed sum and a promise that she could visit and eat as she liked.Rose Pistola closed in February 2017, with its owners citing rising costs and diminished popularity.

Keystone Korner was a jazz club in the North Beach neighborhood of San Francisco, which opened in 1972 and continued operation until 1983. Many live recordings were made at the club. Jessica Williams was the house pianist for a number of years.

Deno and Carlo's, also known as Deno—Carlo, and Dino and Carlo's, was an American bar and music venue active from 1965 until 1968, and located at 728 Vallejo Street in the North Beach neighborhood of San Francisco, California.
