The Dillard House, is a restaurant in Dillard, Rabun County, Georgia, known for its "family style" menu and Southern cooking. It traces its origins to the 1910s, when A.J. Dillard, a descendant of John Dillard along with his wife Carrie opened their stone house to boarders. With the improvement of local transportation infrastructure after World War II, it evolved into a major tourist attraction. Since 1954, it has expanded its dining facilities and added a hotel, cottages, petting zoo, and other attractions. The New York Times wrote in 1983, "[T]he Dillards dug themselves into the land, hung on through good times and bad, and in time turned homecooking and mountain hospitality. . . . into a big business."The restaurant and resort, which sit in a town of about 200 people, claims to serve about 800 customers on an average day and up to 3,000 a day during peak season. Patrons have included Thomas Edison, Henry Ford, Lady Bird Johnson, Walt Disney, and Jimmy Carter.The original stone house was nominated for inclusion in the National Register of Historic Places in 2007.

Rabun Gap-Nacoochee School (informally known as Rabun Gap) is a small, private college preparatory school located in Rabun County, Georgia, United States, in the Appalachian Mountains. It is both a boarding and a day school. Rabun Gap is notable for initiating the Foxfire magazine project in 1966, experiential education based on interviewing local people, and writing and publishing articles about their stories and oral traditions. This inspired numerous schools across the country to develop similar programs. In addition to its strong academic program, it is one of the few schools in the country to include a cirque skills program in its curriculum today. The students put on an annual performance. Rabun Gap is home to boarding students from 50 countries and 15 states.

The Wilson Log House is an historic house in rural Macon County, North Carolina. It is a single story log structure, located west of Highlands, on the west side of State Route 1621 (Hickory Gap Road), 1.4 miles northwest of its junction with Route 1620. It was built c. 1882 by Jeremiah Wilson, and is one of a small number of period log buildings to survive in the county. The house remained in the Wilson family until the 1950s. It measures about 18' by 20', and is constructed from logs with dovetail joins, and red mud chinking. Its interior consists of a single large chamber, with a stair rising on one side to a loft area under the gable roof. At some point a frame addition was added to the rear of the house, but that has since been removed. The house was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1998, at which time it was undergoing a historically sensitive restoration.

The Hambidge Center Historic District is a 660 acres (2.7 km2) historic district near the community of Dillard in Rabun County, Georgia, United States.Located west of Dillard on Betty's Creek Rd., Hambidge Center was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1982. The district comprises 25 separate contributing properties, including a log cabin dating to the 1830s.
