Hazelton (Youngstown, Ohio)

The Gateway Yard of the Pittsburgh and Lake Erie Railroad, located in Youngstown, Ohio, opened in the fall of 1957 and remained in operation until CSX took over the P&LE and closed the yard in 1993. Gateway served as a place to classify and sort freight cars as well as an interchange with the Baltimore and Ohio Railroad and the New York Central Railroad. Most of the cars that entered the yard were destined for Youngstown's steel mills.

Memorial High School is a public high school in Campbell, Ohio, United States. It is the only high school in the Campbell City School District. Athletic teams compete as the Campbell Red Devils in the Ohio High School Athletic Association as a member of the Mahoning Valley Athletic Conference.

East High School is a public high school in Youngstown, Ohio, United States. It is one of four secondary schools in the Youngstown City School District. Athletic teams compete as the East Golden Bears in the Ohio High School Athletic Association as a member of the Steel Valley Conference.

Lansingville is a neighborhood in Youngstown, Ohio. Located on the city's south side, the area was named for John Lansing. The neighborhood was dominated by Slovak Americans, the majority of whom were Roman Catholic, during much of the 20th century. The Lansingville neighborhood developed rapidly with the expansion of the city's south side in the late 19th century and early 20th century. The district's growth was made possible by the construction of the Market Street Bridge, which connected the south side to downtown Youngstown. Immigrants began to settle in the area during the late 19th century, and Lansingville was incorporated into Youngstown in three annexations between 1890 and 1929.While the Lansingville neighborhood drew European immigrants of various backgrounds, including German Americans and Italian Americans, Slovak Americans became the dominant group in the early 20th century. One of the neighborhood's prominent landmarks is St. Matthias Church, which was established by Slovak immigrants who originally belonged to Sts. Cyril and Methodius Church, in the Smoky Hollow area of Youngstown.Although this tradition is no longer intact, a custom of many Lansingville residents was to sweep their sidewalks and streets once a week. Today, Lansingville's population is ethnically diverse, although many Slovak-Americans still live there.

Campbell (; CAM-ell) is a city in eastern Mahoning County, Ohio, United States, along the Mahoning River. The population was 7,852 at the 2020 census. Located directly southeast of Youngstown, it is a suburb of the Youngstown–Warren metropolitan area. Campbell was first called East Youngstown and this designation still appears on real estate deeds between 1902 and 1926, when the city was renamed for local industrialist James Campbell, then chairman of the Youngstown Sheet and Tube Company.

The Basilica of Our Lady of Mount Carmel is a historic Catholic Church off OH 289 in Youngstown, Ohio, United States. It was built in 1913 and added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1979 as Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church. The parish of the Diocese of Youngstown was established in 1906 by the Missionaries of the Precious Blood and local Italian Immigrates. In 2011 the parish was merged with St. Anthony of Padua parish. The Holy See elevated the church to a Minor Basilica in 2014. Each year, an Italian festival is held at the end of July, in the church's parking lot.

WBBW (1240 AM) is a commercial radio station in Youngstown, Ohio, broadcasting a sports format. The station carries the CBS Sports Radio Network, much of it simulcast with co-owned 96.7 WLLF. WBBW is one of seven radio stations in the Youngstown market owned by Cumulus Media. The radio studios and offices are in "The Radio Center" in Youngstown. Prior to January 2, 2013, WBBW featured programming from ESPN Radio. WBBW carries the Mahoning Valley Scrappers in the collegiate summer baseball league. WBBW and WLLF are also the Youngstown affiliates of the Cleveland Browns, Cleveland Cavaliers, and the Pittsburgh Pirates. WBBW has been on the air since February 20, 1949.

Smoky Hollow (also known as The Hollow) is a neighborhood in Youngstown, Ohio. Located northeast of Youngstown's downtown, Smoky Hollow is now part of the campus of Youngstown State University. The district has long been in a state of decline, but plans are now underway to transform Smoky Hollow into a large field built to serve the University.

The Covelli Centre is a multi-purpose arena in Youngstown, Ohio, United States. It opened in 2005, thanks in a large part to a $26 million HUD redevelopment grant secured in 2000 by Congressman James A. Traficant Jr. It is home to the Youngstown Phantoms of the United States Hockey League. The Covelli Centre was previously known as the Chevrolet Centre and is nicknamed "The Chevy Centre" or "The Convo" by some in the area from its former names.

Schenley (/ˈʃεnli/) is a neighborhood on the West Side of Youngstown, Ohio, United States. It is bordered by Belle Vista to the north, Mahoning Commons to the northeast, Oak Hill to the east, Warren to the southeast, Idora to the south, Kirkmere to the south, southwest, and west, and Austintown to the northwest. The neighborhood's northwestern, northern, and eastern boundaries are defined by roads. (South Meridian Road, Mahoning Avenue, and Glenwood Avenue, respectively.) Schenley is home to the northernmost portion of Mill Creek Park, including Lake Glacier, the Wick Recreational Area, and the Lily Pond.

Serving the Youngstown, Ohio market with a classic rock format, it is one of eight radio stations in the Youngstown market that is owned by Cumulus Media. Its studios and transmitter are located at "The Radio Center" in Youngstown. The station has a large coverage area and can be picked up fairly well even in Akron, and as far away as Erie, Pennsylvania. Within the large coverage area, WYFM competes with WNCD in Niles, WONE in Akron, WRQK in Canton, WFXJ in Ashtabula, WNCX in Cleveland, WRKT and WQHZ in Erie, and WDVE in Pittsburgh.
