Cardinal Mooney High School is a coeducational Catholic high school in Youngstown, Ohio.

Schenley (/ˈʃεnli/) is a neighborhood on the West Side of Youngstown, Ohio, United States. It is bordered by Belle Vista to the north, Mahoning Commons to the northeast, Oak Hill to the east, Warren to the southeast, Idora to the south, Kirkmere to the south, southwest, and west, and Austintown to the northwest. The neighborhood's northwestern, northern, and eastern boundaries are defined by roads. (South Meridian Road, Mahoning Avenue, and Glenwood Avenue, respectively.) Schenley is home to the northernmost portion of Mill Creek Park, including Lake Glacier, the Wick Recreational Area, and the Lily Pond.

The Covelli Centre is a multi-purpose arena in Youngstown, Ohio, United States. It opened in 2005, thanks in a large part to a $26 million HUD redevelopment grant secured in 2000 by Congressman James A. Traficant Jr. It is home to the Youngstown Phantoms of the United States Hockey League. The Covelli Centre was previously known as the Chevrolet Centre and is nicknamed "The Chevy Centre" or "The Convo" by some in the area from its former names.

The Youngstown Foundation Amphitheatre is an outdoor amphitheater in Youngstown, Ohio, United States. The venue holds approximately 4,800 fans. It is owned by the city of Youngstown and operated by JAC Management Group.

Oak Hill Cemetery is a place of burial located in Youngstown, Ohio. It is a garden style cemetery (also known as a Rural cemetery) featuring memorials to multiple notable figures. The cemetery was formed after the Mahoning Valley Cemetery Association purchased the land in 1853 from Dr. Henry Manning, a local physician who is himself buried within the cemetery. The cemetery was formally established in 1854. The cemetery began an endowment fund in 1922 that lead to it becoming one of the most endowed cemeteries, measured by dollar per acre, in the state of Ohio. Many of the original cemeteries within the city, then still the Village of Youngstown, had their interments moved to Oak Hill Cemetery. Many of Youngstown's first settlers are buried here, including Daniel Sheehy and Colonel James Hillman.[1]

Downtown Youngstown is the urban downtown center of Youngstown, Ohio, United States. Located on the north bank of the Mahoning River, Downtown Youngstown is the site of most of the city's government buildings and banks. A number of entertainment venues are also located in downtown, including the Covelli Centre, Powers Auditorium, the DeYor Performing Arts Center, and Youngstown Foundation Amphitheatre. In addition, the downtown sits to the immediate south of notable cultural and educational resources, including Youngstown State University, the Butler Institute of American Art, and the McDonough Museum of Contemporary Art.

It is a principal city of the Youngstown–Warren metropolitan area, which had a population of 430,591 in 2020, making it the seventh-largest metro area in Ohio and 125th-largest metro area in the U.S. Youngstown is situated on the Mahoning River in Northeast Ohio, 58 miles (93 km) southeast of Cleveland and 61 miles (100 km) northwest of Pittsburgh. Youngstown is a midwestern city located at the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains. The city was named for John Young, an early settler from Whitestown, New York, who established the community's first sawmill and gristmill. It was an early industrial city of the late 19th and early 20th centuries and became known as a center of steel production. With the movement of jobs offshore as the steel industry in the United States fell into decline in the 1970s, the city became exemplary of the Rust Belt. Youngstown has seen a decline in population within city limits of nearly 65 percent since 1960. Downtown Youngstown has seen various revitalization efforts in the 21st century, including the Covelli Centre and Youngstown Foundation Amphitheatre. Other notable institutions in the city include the Butler Institute of American Art, Mill Creek Park, Stambaugh Auditorium, and Youngstown State University. Youngstown's first new downtown hotel since 1974—the DoubleTree by Hilton—opened in 2018 in the historic Stambaugh Building, adapted for this use.

Metropolitan Tower is a skyscraper in Youngstown, Ohio. Designed by Morris Scheibel, the building rises to a height of 224 feet (68 m). It has been the tallest building in the city since its completion in 1929, surpassing the Wick Building. It was listed in the National Register of Historic Places in 1980.

The Wick Building, also known as The Wick Tower, is a high rise structure and second tallest building in Youngstown, Ohio. Constructed by D. H. Burnham & Company in 1910, the structure contains 13 floors and rises to a height of 184 feet. It is a classic example of Chicago School architecture, and contains a row of arches at the crown. The Wick Building was the tallest building in the city until the construction of Metropolitan Tower in 1929. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places on February 8, 1980.

The Basilica of Our Lady of Mount Carmel is a historic Catholic Church off OH 289 in Youngstown, Ohio, United States. It was built in 1913 and added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1979 as Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church. The parish of the Diocese of Youngstown was established in 1906 by the Missionaries of the Precious Blood and local Italian Immigrates. In 2011 the parish was merged with St. Anthony of Padua parish. The Holy See elevated the church to a Minor Basilica in 2014. Each year, an Italian festival is held at the end of July, in the church's parking lot.

Lansingville is a neighborhood in Youngstown, Ohio. Located on the city's south side, the area was named for John Lansing. The neighborhood was dominated by Slovak Americans, the majority of whom were Roman Catholic, during much of the 20th century. The Lansingville neighborhood developed rapidly with the expansion of the city's south side in the late 19th century and early 20th century. The district's growth was made possible by the construction of the Market Street Bridge, which connected the south side to downtown Youngstown. Immigrants began to settle in the area during the late 19th century, and Lansingville was incorporated into Youngstown in three annexations between 1890 and 1929.While the Lansingville neighborhood drew European immigrants of various backgrounds, including German Americans and Italian Americans, Slovak Americans became the dominant group in the early 20th century. One of the neighborhood's prominent landmarks is St. Matthias Church, which was established by Slovak immigrants who originally belonged to Sts. Cyril and Methodius Church, in the Smoky Hollow area of Youngstown.Although this tradition is no longer intact, a custom of many Lansingville residents was to sweep their sidewalks and streets once a week. Today, Lansingville's population is ethnically diverse, although many Slovak-Americans still live there.
