Grevelingendam

Bruinisse is a village in the south-west of the Netherlands. It is located in the municipality of Schouwen-Duiveland, Zeeland.

Battenoord is a hamlet in the Dutch province of South Holland. It is a part of the municipality of Goeree-Overflakkee. It lies near the village of Herkingen, and on the northside of the Grevelingenmeer. The hamlet was first mentioned between 1420 and 1421 as Battenoert, and probably means "land (near water) of Batto (person)". It was originally a name of a shoal.In 1504, the harbour of Nieuwe-Tonge was relocated to Battenoord. The hamlet was severely affected by the North Sea flood of 1953 and in and around Battenoord 55 people lost their lives. Battenoord is considered part of Nieuwe-Tonge. It has place name signs. Battenoord is the winter home of a group flamingoes between c. October until c. April.

De Sluis or Sluis is a hamlet in the Dutch province of Zeeland. It is a part of the municipality of Tholen, and lies about 21 km north-west of Bergen op Zoom.De Sluis is not a statistical entity, and the postal authorities have placed it under Sint Philipsland. It has place name signs and consists of about 10 houses.The village was named after the nearby sluice, and was established after 1900 to house the employees of the Rotterdamsche Tramweg Maatschappij. A tram line was built to Brouwershaven and was mainly used for the transportation of sugar beet. The tram line closed in 1953.The ferry from Anna Jacobapolder to Zijpe used to be located in De Sluis. In 1988, the Philipsdam was completed and the ferry was disestablished.

The Philipsdam is a dam constructed as part of the Delta Works in the Netherlands. It separates water of the lakes Krammer and Volkerak from the Oosterschelde. The dam connects the Grevelingendam to Sint Philipsland.

Sint Philipsland is a former island in the Dutch province of Zeeland. Nowadays it is part of the municipality of Tholen. It contains the villages of Sint Philipsland and Anna Jacobapolder, and also the hamlet of De Sluis.

The Krammer is a body of fresh water located in the western part of Volkerak in the Netherlands. It is part of the Rhine–Meuse–Scheldt delta, and is situated between the islands Goeree-Overflakkee and Sint Philipsland. To the west, it continues into the Grevelingen, from which it is separated by the Grevelingendam. Before 1967, it was a tidal river, but it was closed off as part of the Delta Works.

Dirksland (Dutch pronunciation: [ˈdɪr(ə)kslɑnt] ) is a village and former municipality on Goeree-Overflakkee Island in the western Netherlands, in the province of South Holland. The former municipality had a population of about 8,000 in 2007, and covered an area of about 74 km2 of which about 19 km2 was water. The former municipality of Dirksland also included the communities of Herkingen, and Melissant. On 1 January 2013, Dirksland merged with Goedereede, Middelharnis, and Oostflakkee into the new municipality of Goeree-Overflakkee. The North Sea flood of 1953 did not have as much of a destructive effect on Dirksland as the rest of the island, because Dirksland is somewhat higher. Dirksland is the largest of the three communities within the former municipality and also has the only hospital on Goeree-Overflakkee island. The Van Weel-Bethesda Hospital is one of the smallest in the country, but has an excellent reputation. Dirksland can be recognized from a distance by the tallest water tower in the country. The towns are agriculturally focused and have several campgrounds for people who prefer a bit of rest over the busy Ouddorp area but still want to be close to shore. Dirksland has an inland harbor with a newly restored gate complex.

Sint-Annaland is a village in the Dutch province of Zeeland. It is a part of the municipality of Tholen, and lies about 18 km northwest of Bergen op Zoom.

Sirjansland is a village in the Dutch province of Zeeland. It is a part of the municipality of Schouwen-Duiveland, and lies about 19 km south of Hellevoetsluis.
