Philipsdam

The Krammer is a body of fresh water located in the western part of Volkerak in the Netherlands. It is part of the Rhine–Meuse–Scheldt delta, and is situated between the islands Goeree-Overflakkee and Sint Philipsland. To the west, it continues into the Grevelingen, from which it is separated by the Grevelingendam. Before 1967, it was a tidal river, but it was closed off as part of the Delta Works.

Anna Jacobapolder is a village in the Dutch province of Zeeland. It is a part of the municipality of Tholen, and lies about 20 km north west of Bergen op Zoom.

Sint Philipsland is a village in the Dutch province of Zeeland. Sint Philpsland is also the name of the (former) island on which the village lies. It is a part of the municipality of Tholen, and lies about 16 km northwest of Bergen op Zoom.

Nieuwe-Tonge is a village in the Dutch province of South Holland. It is a part of the municipality of Goeree-Overflakkee, and lies about 13 km south of Hellevoetsluis.

The Grevelingendam is a dam located in the Grevelingen sea inlet between Schouwen-Duiveland and Goeree-Overflakkee in The Netherlands. The Grevelingendam was the fourth structure constructed as part of the Delta Works.The dam is six kilometres in length. Construction began in 1958 with the aim of delivering it in 1964. Due to several setbacks, the construction of the dam took seven years and was opened on 1 April 1965 by Minister of Transport and Water Management, Jan van Aartsen. There is a navigation lock at the southern end of the dam near Bruinisse, and nearby a control lock using a siphon system, known as the Flakkeese Spuisluis, which connects the Eastern Scheldt with the Grevelingenmeer.The construction of the Grevelingendam permitted Dutch civil engineers and contractors to gain experience that would be necessary for the Brouwersdam, along with more complicated closure works such as those at the Haringvlietdam, and the Oosterscheldekering.

Battenoord is a hamlet in the Dutch province of South Holland. It is a part of the municipality of Goeree-Overflakkee. It lies near the village of Herkingen, and on the northside of the Grevelingenmeer. The hamlet was first mentioned between 1420 and 1421 as Battenoert, and probably means "land (near water) of Batto (person)". It was originally a name of a shoal.In 1504, the harbour of Nieuwe-Tonge was relocated to Battenoord. The hamlet was severely affected by the North Sea flood of 1953 and in and around Battenoord 55 people lost their lives. Battenoord is considered part of Nieuwe-Tonge. It has place name signs. Battenoord is the winter home of a group flamingoes between c. October until c. April.

De Sluis or Sluis is a hamlet in the Dutch province of Zeeland. It is a part of the municipality of Tholen, and lies about 21 km north-west of Bergen op Zoom.De Sluis is not a statistical entity, and the postal authorities have placed it under Sint Philipsland. It has place name signs and consists of about 10 houses.The village was named after the nearby sluice, and was established after 1900 to house the employees of the Rotterdamsche Tramweg Maatschappij. A tram line was built to Brouwershaven and was mainly used for the transportation of sugar beet. The tram line closed in 1953.The ferry from Anna Jacobapolder to Zijpe used to be located in De Sluis. In 1988, the Philipsdam was completed and the ferry was disestablished.

Oude-Tonge English:Old Toungue (also: Oudetonge) is a village in the Dutch province of South Holland. It is a part of the municipality of Goeree-Overflakkee, and lies about 16 km south of Hellevoetsluis.

Bruinisse is a village in the south-west of the Netherlands. It is located in the municipality of Schouwen-Duiveland, Zeeland.

Vrijberge was a municipality in the Dutch province of Zeeland, located on the island of Tholen. It existed until 1813, when it was merged with Oud-Vossemeer.
