Griffin Heights is a neighborhood in northwestern Tallahassee, Florida. The area has had problems with gun violence and drugs. It is historically African American. It is home to apartments serving students from Florida State University. The area is also home to the New Birth Tabernacle of Praise church. Griffin Middle School is also located in the neighborhood. Griffin Heights and Greater Frenchtown were part of the City of Tallahassee's Greater Safety Initiative in 2018. In 2019, Rosalind Bentley, a writer for The Atlanta Journal-Constitution who is from Griffin Heights, wrote about white people moving into the area as Florida State University expands its footprint.

Frenchtown is a primarily African American neighborhood in Tallahassee, Florida. It is the oldest such neighborhood in the state.

Woman's Working Band House is a historic house in Tallahassee, Leon County, Florida. It is located at 648 W. Brevard St. in Frenchtown, the oldest surviving African-American community in Florida. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places on October 20, 2010.This completely restored National Register Property currently (2018) houses the B Sharps Jazz Club. This house is one of the few recognized, extant properties financed jointly by rank and file and upper class African-American women. Its cornerstone was laid in 1921 by the Woman's [sic] Working Band and it was built to serve as an Old Folks Home.

The FSU President's House, is a 13,068 ft² Greek Revival-style building located at 1000 West Tennessee Street, across from the main campus. Visitors to Tallahassee might think it had always been there, which was the intention, but it was completed in 2007. The mansion has served as the Florida State University president's residence since that year and is used to host students, faculty, staff, scholars and alumni; government officials and legislators; national and foreign dignitaries; as well as corporate representatives, friends and constituents.

Lincoln High School, also known as Lincoln Academy, was a high school for African Americans in Tallahassee, Florida, United States. It is commonly referred to as "Historic Lincoln High School" or "Old Lincoln". There is no connection with Leon County's current (and distant) Lincoln High School other than name.

The Co-Cathedral of St. Thomas More is a Catholic cathedral located in Tallahassee, Florida, United States. Along with the Cathedral of the Sacred Heart in Pensacola it is the seat of the Diocese of Pensacola-Tallahassee. St. Thomas More also provides the Catholic Campus Ministry at Florida State University. The Altar Relics of the Co-Cathedral are of Saint Felix and Saint Felicity.

The Taylor House is a historic home in Tallahassee, Florida. The home was added to the U.S. National Register of Historic Places on April 6, 2015. The Taylor House Museum, located at 442 West Georgia Street, was also added to the Tallahassee-Leon County Register of Historic Places on October 26, 2011. On July 27, 2012, the Florida Department of State designated the home a Florida Heritage Site.

Leon County (Spanish: Condado de León) is a county in the Panhandle of the U.S. state of Florida. It was named after the Spanish explorer Juan Ponce de León. As of the 2020 census, the population was 292,198.The county seat is Tallahassee, which is also the state capital and home to many politicians, lobbyists, jurists, and attorneys. Leon County is included in the Tallahassee metropolitan area. Tallahassee is home to two of Florida's major public universities, Florida State University and Florida A&M University, as well as Tallahassee Community College. Together these institutions have a combined enrollment of more than 70,000 students annually, creating both economic and social effects.

Lake Ella is a lake in central Tallahassee, Florida on US 27 just south of Tharpe Street, and just north of Downtown. Lake Ella has an area of 12 acres (49,000 m2) and a perimeter 0.6 miles. Once used for cattle, it now has three fountains and is used for recreation, flood protection, and stormwater pollution control.

The FSU Student Union is the Student center on the campus of Florida State University in Tallahassee, in the U.S. state of Florida. The brick building is a modern structure with a Collegiate Gothic exterior to match the architectural design of most of the buildings on the university's campus. It officially opened on September 23, 2022 replacing six aged buildings, some nearly 70 years old.

The Florida State University College of Business is the business school of the Florida State University. Established in 1950, it enrolls more than 6,000 students including undergraduates and graduate students seeking their bachelor's, master's or doctoral degrees. All programs are accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business. In addition to raising funds to benefit academics, students, and faculty, the college is actively fundraising for Legacy Hall, the new home for the College of Business. Legacy Hall will be located next to a completely renovated Donald L. Tucker Civic Center and be part of the Arena District. Legacy Hall is currently slated to open the Summer of 2025.
