Belmont–Hillsboro Historic District

The Curb Event Center is a multipurpose arena on the campus of Belmont University in Nashville, Tennessee. Named in honor of its prime donor, music executive and former lieutenant governor of California Mike Curb, the arena was completed in 2003, replacing the former Striplin Gym. It is the home venue of Belmont's men's and women's basketball and volleyball teams and hosted the 2004 and 2005 Atlantic Sun Conference men's basketball tournaments. In June 2004 it hosted some of the junior and preliminary events of the U.S.Gymnastics Championships. It seats 5,085 people for sporting events and hundreds more for events such as concerts and graduations where much of the floor is available for seating. It also hosts the graduation of the seniors of several local schools, including East Literature Magnet, Antioch High School, John Overton Comprehensive High School and Ravenwood High School. On April 10, 2006, the arena hosted the nationally televised CMT Music Awards for the first time and in September 2011 featured special guest and keynote speaker Dr. Maya Angelou in celebration of its 10th Annual Humanities Symposium. Curb Event Center hosted a United States presidential debate in 2008 and hosted another in 2020.

Hillsboro Village is a neighborhood of Nashville, Tennessee, located 3 miles southwest of downtown. Hillsboro Village is governed by the Metropolitan Council of Nashville and Davidson County, due to the fact that the government of Davidson County is consolidated with that of Nashville. The center of Hillsboro Village is located along Hillsboro Road, a major thoroughfare dating from before the Civil War. It is a former streetcar suburb, and shopping and entertainment district, ntaining boutiques, the non-profit Belcourt Theatre, and numerous independent restaurants. The heart of Hillsboro Village is home to the Acklen Avenue Post Office, noted for its wall of autographed photos of country music stars. It is also home to local musicians Ben Folds and Mat Kearney. Hillsboro Village is adjacent to Vanderbilt University School of Medicine and close to Belmont University, and Music Row. The village is popular with college students. Hillsboro Road also divides the area into two neighborhoods: Hillsboro-West End to the West and Belmont-Hillsboro to the East. Through the 19th century, the neighborhood now known as Hillsboro-Belmont was then part of a single estate containing the Belmont Mansion. Much of the land between Hillsboro Pike and Granny White Pike was farmland during this time. Hillsboro Village began to take shape in 1920, when two groceries and a pharmacy opened alongside the trolley line that ran down Hillsboro Road (21st Avenue). Residential houses were primarily built between 1910 and 1940.

Belmont University is a private Christian university in Nashville, Tennessee. Descended from Belmont Women's College, founded in 1890 by schoolteachers Ida Hood and Susan Heron, the institution was incorporated in 1951 as Belmont College.With expansion of programs, it became Belmont University in 1991. Belmont's current enrollment consists of approximately 8,900 students representing every state and 28 nations. The university served as the host site for the final presidential debate in the 2020 election cycle. Although the university cut its ties with the Tennessee Baptist Convention in 2007, it continues to emphasize a Christian identity.

The Whitten Soccer Complex was the on-campus soccer complex for the Belmont Bruins of Belmont University in Nashville, Tennessee, the largest Christian university in Tennessee. The facility was a Bermuda grass based field surrounded by a walking track, which had bleacher seating for 500 spectators plus standing room if needed. It was replaced by the field at E. S. Rose Park in 2012.

Belmont Mansion, also known as Acklen Hall, and originally known as Belle Monte, Belle Mont or Belmont, is a historic mansion located in Nashville, Tennessee. It was built by Joseph and Adelicia Acklen to serve as the center of their 180-acre summer estate in what was then country outside the city, and featured elaborate gardens and a zoo. They lived much of the rest of the year on her plantations in Louisiana. The estate was sold in the late 19th century and since 1890 has been used for educational functions. It was first used as a girls academy, then as the first building of what became Belmont College and now Belmont University. Today it is operated as a museum. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1971.

Belmont University College of Law is a private law school in Nashville, Tennessee. Founded in 2011, the College of Law was accredited by the American Bar Association in 2013.

The Belcourt Theatre is a nonprofit film center located in Nashville's Hillsboro Village district.

Monroe Carell Jr. Children's Hospital at Vanderbilt, also known as Children's Hospital at Vanderbilt, is a nationally ranked pediatric acute care children's teaching hospital and entity of Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, Tennessee. The hospital is affiliated with Vanderbilt University School of Medicine's Department of Pediatrics. Children's Hospital at Vanderbilt comprises 343 pediatric beds and over 1 million square feet of clinical and administrative space. The hospital provides comprehensive pediatric specialties and subspecialties to infants, children, teens, and young adults aged 0–21 throughout Nashville and the greater mid-south region. The hospital also sometimes treats adults who require pediatric care.Children's Hospital at Vanderbilt also features an American College of Surgeons level I pediatric trauma center for critically ill pediatric trauma patients. The hospital is attached to Vanderbilt University Medical Center, including Vanderbilt University Hospital. It is affiliated with the nearby Ronald McDonald House of Nashville.Children's Hospital at Vanderbilt is routinely ranked among the best children's hospitals in the nation by U.S. News & World Report.

Memorial Hall (formerly known as Confederate Memorial Hall) is a historic building on the Peabody College campus of Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tennessee. It was built in 1935 as a dormitory hall for female descendants of Confederate States Army veterans. Its former name resulted in multiple lawsuits and student unrest. In August 2016, Vanderbilt announced it would reimburse the United Daughters of the Confederacy for their financial contribution and remove the word Confederate from the building.

The Little Sisters of the Poor Home for the Aged is a historic building in Nashville, Tennessee, U.S.. It was built in 1916 for the Little Sisters of the Poor, a Roman Catholic order which takes care of the elderly poor. It closed down in 1968, and it was turned into a series of nursing homes until 1998. It was subsequently used by the music industry, including Sony. In 2014, Sony Music sold it to Vanderbilt University for US$12.1 million.The building has been listed on the National Register of Historic Places since July 25, 1985.

Vanderbilt Peabody College of Education and Human Development (also known as Vanderbilt Peabody College, Peabody College, or simply Peabody) is the education school of Vanderbilt University, a private research university in Nashville, Tennessee. Founded in 1875, Peabody had a long history as an independent institution before merging with Vanderbilt University in 1979. The school is located on the Peabody Campus of Vanderbilt University in Nashville. The academic and administrative buildings surround the Peabody Esplanade and are southeast of Vanderbilt's main campus. Peabody College is organized around five academic departments, and conducts research in education, psychology, and human development. The school offers undergraduate, master's, and doctoral degrees in more than 30 programs.
