Turner is a city in Marion County, Oregon, United States. The population was 2,944 at the 2020 census. It is part of the Salem Metropolitan Statistical Area. The community was incorporated by the Oregon Legislative Assembly on February 10, 1905.Since 1971, it is the location of the Enchanted Forest amusement park.

Mill Creek Correctional Facility (MCCF) was a minimum-security prison located five miles southeast of Salem on 2,089 acres. The facility was a minimum-security work camp providing AIC labor to the Oregon Department of Corrections, other state and local agencies, and private industries throughout the Willamette Valley. MCCF officially closed on June 30, 2021 as part of Governor Brown's sentencing reform efforts.

The Enchanted Forest is a seasonal (closed from October to spring break) theme park located in Turner, Oregon, on a small patch of hilly wooded land next to Interstate 5, just south of Salem, Oregon. The park was created and hand built by Roger Tofte over a period of seven years in the late 1960s. The park first opened to the public in 1971. Early success led to many expansions over the last half-century, mostly built again by Tofte by hand. The Tofte family still owns and operates the 20-acre (8.1 ha) park, with three generations of the family involved in the day to day operations. The park sees an average of 100,000 guests a year during the normal six-month-long season.

Thrill-Ville USA was an amusement park in Turner, Oregon, United States. The park was located next to the Enchanted Forest south of Salem on Interstate 5. Opened in the 1970s, the park grew to more than 20 rides before closing in 2007. Rides included roller coasters, go-karts, classic carnival rides (such as Octopus, Rock-O-Plane, Tilt-A-Whirl, Paratrooper, and many more) a 55-foot (17 m) double water slide, and a regular slide. The park also had an area called "Thrill-Zone" which included a Sky Coaster, Big Sling ride, SCAD Freefall Tower, and Turbo Force. De-construction of the park's major roller coaster, the "Ripper" started in spring 2010.

Willamette Valley Vineyards is an American winery located in Turner, Oregon. Named after Oregon's Willamette Valley, the winery is the leading producer of Willamette Valley-appellated Pinot Noir in Oregon, and also produces Chardonnay and Pinot Gris. In 2016, the winery was the largest producer of Riesling wine in the Willamette Valley.

The Prewitt-Allen Archeological Museum is a small archaeology museum at Corban University in Salem, Oregon, United States. Founded in the 1950s, the museum is located in the school’s library on the rural campus. Artifacts and replicas come mainly from the Eastern Mediterranean and include replicas of the Rosetta Stone and the Code of Hammurabi, alongside a collection of ancient oil lamps and an internationally known papyrus palimpsest. The free museum has over 900 items in its collections.

Corban University is a private Christian university in Salem, Oregon. There are about 1,200 full-time students enrolled on the Salem campus and 2,800 worldwide. Athletically, it is a member of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics competing in the Cascade Collegiate Conference.

The Oregon State Tuberculosis Hospital was a tuberculosis sanatorium in Salem, Oregon, United States. Established in 1905, it was the first public tuberculosis sanatorium on the West Coast. The main hospital building, constructed in 1894, had formerly housed the Oregon State Deaf-Mute School. After its conversion into the state tuberculosis hospital, multiple cottages and additional buildings were constructed on the property. The hospital remained in operation until 1969, when it was purchased by Corban University.

Oregon State Correctional Institution (OSCI) is a 33-acre (130,000 m2) medium security prison located in Salem, Oregon, United States and is operated by the Oregon Department of Corrections. Established by an act of the Oregon State Legislature in 1955, the prison opened in 1959 and has a capacity of 880 male inmates. OSCI typically houses younger inmates, including those who began their sentence in a youth facility. Inmates at OSCI have opportunities working in its print shop and mail room, and provide telephone services for the Oregon Health Plan. Inmates have access to education programs, drug and alcohol treatment, and mental health treatment. In recent years, OSCI has designated 500 of its beds for transitional release inmates (those who are within six months of release from prison) with focused efforts on preparing them for release to the community.

Robert S. Farrell High School was a public high school in Salem, Oregon, United States. It was part of the Hillcrest Youth Correctional Facility before the facility closed in 2017.

Hillcrest Youth Correctional Facility was a state-run juvenile correctional facility located in Salem, Oregon, United States, established in 1914. Hillcrest was run by the Oregon Youth Authority (OYA), Oregon's juvenile corrections agency. It was closed on September 1, 2017, and all youth, staff, and programs were moved to MacLaren Youth Correctional Facility in Woodburn as part of a major project to consolidate the two facilities. Hillcrest was originally founded as the State Industrial School for Girls, following the 1891 establishment of a boys' reformatory school. It later became co-gender in the 1970s, and served males ages 12–25 who were violent or in need of substance abuse treatment. The facility had a budgeted capacity of 180 beds. Hillcrest also served as the location for statewide male intake and parole violator intake assessment for youth offenders.Robert S. Farrell High School was located on site.

Cascade School District #5 (Cascade SD 5) is a public school district in Oregon, based in an unincorporated area with a Turner postal address. The school district administration is on the same property as Cascade Junior High School and Cascade High School.The district's service area includes Turner, Aumsville, Marion, and a small portion of Salem.It includes five schools, the three elementary schools Turner elementary, Aumsville elementary, and Cloverdale elementary. Then all the elementary schools merge at Cascade Junior High which those students go to the larger Cascade High. The Senior high has a symphonic, marching, and jazz band. The junior high has a beginning and 7th/8th grade band.
