The Enchanted Forest is a seasonal (closed from October to spring break) theme park located in Turner, Oregon, on a small patch of hilly wooded land next to Interstate 5, just south of Salem, Oregon. The park was created and hand built by Roger Tofte over a period of seven years in the late 1960s. The park first opened to the public in 1971. Early success led to many expansions over the last half-century, mostly built again by Tofte by hand. The Tofte family still owns and operates the 20-acre (8.1 ha) park, with three generations of the family involved in the day to day operations. The park sees an average of 100,000 guests a year during the normal six-month-long season.

Willamette Valley Vineyards is an American winery located in Turner, Oregon. Named after Oregon's Willamette Valley, the winery is the leading producer of Willamette Valley-appellated Pinot Noir in Oregon, and also produces Chardonnay and Pinot Gris. In 2016, the winery was the largest producer of Riesling wine in the Willamette Valley.

Delaney–Edwards House is a historic inn in Salem, Oregon. It was built in 1845 and was added to the National Register of Historic Places on July 23, 2004. It is one of the oldest houses in Oregon and is currently operated as a bed and breakfast.

Mill Creek Correctional Facility (MCCF) was a minimum-security prison located five miles southeast of Salem on 2,089 acres. The facility was a minimum-security work camp providing AIC labor to the Oregon Department of Corrections, other state and local agencies, and private industries throughout the Willamette Valley. MCCF officially closed on June 30, 2021 as part of Governor Brown's sentencing reform efforts.

Rosedale is an unincorporated community in Marion County, Oregon, United States. It is located just south of Salem, in the Salem Hills. It is a part of the Salem Metropolitan Statistical Area. Rosedale post office ran from 1892 to 1901.The Rosedale area was a major prune growing region in the early 20th century but is now primarily made up of rural residential properties, vineyards, and Christmas tree fields. Rosedale Elementary School, located at 6974 Bates Road, Salem, was in service from 1893 until its closing in 2012. The town was located around the area of Sunnyside Road SE and Delany Road SE. It had a gas station, post office, grocery store, and feed, seed and livery stable. The community still has a church and cemetery founded in 1896 located at 452 Hylo Rd SE.

Turner is a city in Marion County, Oregon, United States. The population was 2,944 at the 2020 census. It is part of the Salem Metropolitan Statistical Area. The community was incorporated by the Oregon Legislative Assembly on February 10, 1905.Since 1971, it is the location of the Enchanted Forest amusement park.

Anna Luisa Daigneault (born December 1, 1982), known by her stage name Quilla, is a Canadian songwriter, vocalist, keyboardist, producer, DJ, and linguistic anthropologist. She was born and raised in Montreal, Quebec. Her father is from Quebec and her mother is Peruvian, of Spanish and indigenous Quechua and Aymara descent. Her stage name "Quilla" is inspired by the Quechua word for "moon". Daigneault is known for her contributions as a dance music vocalist in the genres of progressive house, deep house, techno, trance, breaks, and others. Her vocals have been featured on tracks by producers such as Tiësto, Sultan + Ned Shepard, Feenixpawl, Heatbeat on labels such as Universal Music, Revealed Recordings, Armada Music, Visionquest, and others. Her work as a live electronic performer is unique because she sings live while mixing tracks, and uses keyboards, vocal effects and a looping pedal. In 2016, she shifted away from being a featured vocalist and became an electronic producer, releasing her own self-produced electronic pop album You Got It in April 2017.Daigneault has composed and produced electronic music for film soundtracks, stop motion animations, and documentaries. Outside of her work in music and film, she has also published over thirty online talking dictionaries through her work with Living Tongues Institute for Endangered Languages as well as articles in the field of endangered language conservation. She currently resides in Greensboro, North Carolina.

The Living Tongues Institute for Endangered Languages (LTIEL) is a nonprofit 501 (c)(3) organization based in Salem, Oregon, United States. The institute's focus is to scientifically document endangered languages, as well as assist communities with maintaining and revitalizing knowledge of their native languages. The institute's founder and director is Dr. Gregory D. S. Anderson. One of the institute's projects involves training indigenous youth who are not native speakers of their communities' traditional languages to record and document their elders' languages, in order to improve documentation of those languages and to "build pride" among speakers.The institute reports that they have created over 100 online "living dictionaries". Between 2007 and 2013, the Living Tongues Institute partnered with National Geographic’s Enduring Voices Project, as both founder Dr. Gregory D. S. Anderson and former Director of Research Dr. K David Harrison are National Geographic Fellows. Other partners include La Academia de Lenguas Mayas de Guatemala and Ironbound Films: The Linguists.

Robert S. Farrell High School was a public high school in Salem, Oregon, United States. It was part of the Hillcrest Youth Correctional Facility before the facility closed in 2017.

Hillcrest Youth Correctional Facility was a state-run juvenile correctional facility located in Salem, Oregon, United States, established in 1914. Hillcrest was run by the Oregon Youth Authority (OYA), Oregon's juvenile corrections agency. It was closed on September 1, 2017, and all youth, staff, and programs were moved to MacLaren Youth Correctional Facility in Woodburn as part of a major project to consolidate the two facilities. Hillcrest was originally founded as the State Industrial School for Girls, following the 1891 establishment of a boys' reformatory school. It later became co-gender in the 1970s, and served males ages 12–25 who were violent or in need of substance abuse treatment. The facility had a budgeted capacity of 180 beds. Hillcrest also served as the location for statewide male intake and parole violator intake assessment for youth offenders.Robert S. Farrell High School was located on site.

The Salem Hills are a range of hills spanning from southern Salem, Oregon, United States, south to Jefferson, west to the Willamette River and east to Turner and Marion. They have also been called the Ankeny Hills, Chemeketa Hills, Illahee Hills, Red Clay Hills, Red Hills, and the South Salem Hills.

The Fairview Training Center was a state-run facility for people with developmental disabilities in Salem, Oregon, United States. Fairview was established in 1907 as the State Institution for the Feeble-Minded. The hospital opened on December 1, 1908, with 39 patients transferred from the Oregon State Hospital for the Insane. Before its closure in 2000, Fairview was administered by the Oregon Department of Human Services (DHS). DHS continued to operate the Eastern Oregon State Hospital in Pendleton until October 31, 2009.
