The University of Bergamo (Italian: Università degli Studi di Bergamo; acronym: UniBG) is an Italian public university located in Bergamo, Italy. It was founded on 11 December 1968 and is organized in seven departments, three campuses and forty-one degree courses.

The Tempietto di Santa Croce is a small octagonal Romanesque chapel found in the upper city of Bergamo, near the Santa Maria Maggiore. The original building was constructed in the first half of the 11th century, though first documentation of the structure dates to 1133. Other Romanesque structures in the province include the Rotonda di San Tomè, the Basilica di Santa Giulia, and the Priorato di Sant'Egidio.

Civic Museum of Natural Science Enrico Caffi (Italian: Museo di Scienze Naturali Enrico Caffi) is a natural history museum in Bergamo, Italy. The museum has more than 55,000 artifacts, fossils, animal and plant specimens. The museum is founded in 1918 and, after multiple moves, is currently located at Piazza Cittadella. The museum also hosts a library and provides education activities for schools in the region.

The Visconti Citadel of Bergamo is a mediaeval fortification in Bergamo, Lombardy, northern Italy. It was built in the 14th century by the Visconti of Milan and later expanded by the Colleoni of Bergamo. It lies in the western sector of the Città Alta (Upper Town).

The Cappella Colleoni (Italian: "Colleoni Chapel") is a chapel and mausoleum attached to the Basilica of St. Mary Major in the northern Italian city of Bergamo. Dedicated to the saints Bartholomew, Mark and John the Baptist, it was built between 1472 and 1476 as the personal shrine for the condottiere Bartolomeo Colleoni, a member of one of the city's most notable families, and his beloved daughter Medea. The site chosen was that of the church's sacristy, which was demolished by Colleoni's soldiers. Whether or not the demolition was authorized by church administrators remains the subject of scholarly debate among Italian historians. The design was entrusted to Giovanni Antonio Amadeo, whose plan respected the style of the church, as can be seen from the octagonal tambour of the dome and in the lantern cusp, as well as in the use of polychrome marbles.

Bergamo Cathedral (Italian: Duomo di Bergamo, Cattedrale di Sant'Alessandro) is a Roman Catholic cathedral in Bergamo, Italy, dedicated to Saint Alexander of Bergamo, patron saint of the city. It is the seat of the Bishop of Bergamo.

Venetian Works of Defence between the 16th and 17th centuries: Stato da Terra – Western Stato da Mar is a UNESCO World Heritage Site comprising six bastion forts built by the Republic of Venice on its mainland domains (Stato da Terra) and its Domains of the Sea (Stato da Màr). With the increase in firearm warfare in the early modern period of gunpowder when the cannon came to dominate the battlefield, came significant shifts in military strategy and fort design. One of these changes was the development of the bastion fort, or alla moderna fortifications, with a polygon-shaped fortress with bulwarks at the corners. These designs originated from the Republic of Venice, but would soon spread throughout Europe and remain the standard for defence until the 19th century. In 2017, six of these fortifications in Italy, Croatia, and Montenegro were inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage list. These six sites provide quintessential examples of this fort design, demonstrate the influence of Renaissance-era Venice, and pay testimony to a major advancement in the history of warfare.

The Orto Botanico di Bergamo "Lorenzo Rota" (1,357 m²) is a botanical garden located at the top of a long stairway from Scaletta di Colle Aperto, Bergamo, Lombardy, Italy. It is open daily during the warmer months. The garden was established in 1972, and named in honor of physician and botanist Lorenzo Rota. It was at first predominantly an alpine garden, but after 1989 began collaboration with the Museum of Natural Sciences and broadened its collection. In 1993, the garden became an integral part of the museum. Although smaller than a soccer field, the garden now contains more than 900 species arranged into 23 collections, including: Alpine - Abies alba, Achnatherum calamagrostis, Alnus viridis, Carlina acaulis, Corydalis lutea, Dryas octopetala, Hieracium pilosella, Horminum pyrenaicum, Larix decidua, Pinus mugo, Rhamnus alpinus, Rhaponticum scariosum, Rhododendron hirsutum, Rubus idaeus, Picea abies, Potentilla grandiflora, Primula hirsuta, Primula auricula, Ranunculus thora, Saxifraga cotyledon, and Vaccinium myrtillus. Lombardy - more than half of the garden's species, including Allium ursinum, Arum italicum, Aruncus dioicus, Asarum europaeum, Betula pendula, Campanula elatinoides, Campanula raineri, Carex pendula, Carpinus betulus, Convallaria majalis, Daphne mezereum, Doronicum pardalianches, Erythronium dens-canis, Euphorbia amygdaloides, Fagus sylvatica, Lathyrus vernus, Leucojum vernum, Omphalodes verna, Osmunda regalis, Pulmonaria officinalis, Ranunculus ficaria, Quercus cerris, Sanguisorba dodecandra, Saxifraga petraea, Saxifraga vandelli, Scilla bifolia, Sorbus aucuparia, Taxus baccata, and Telekia speciosissima. Exotic species - including Amsonia tabernaemontana, Bletia hyacinthina, Brunnera macrophylla, Colocasia antiquorum, Corylopsis spicata, Davidia involucrata, Euonymus alatus, Grevillea rosmarinifolia, Raphiolepis indica, Sarcococca confusa, Staphylea colchica, and Telekia speciosa.

Donizetti's birthplace (Casa natale di Gaetano Donizetti) is a cultural site in Bergamo, in Lombardy, Italy. The composer Gaetano Donizetti was born here on 29 November 1797; since 2009 it has been a museum. The building is open to visitors on Sundays; special visits on Monday to Friday may be arranged by appointment.

The Funicular Railway Upper City - Lower City (Italian: Funicolare Città Alta), is a funicular railway line in the city of Bergamo, Italy. It connects the historic core of Città Alta (the suspended fortified city of Bergamo built up on a hill) with the Città Bassa, the financial lower city. Built in 1887, it is one of the two funicular lines serving the city of Bergamo; the other being the Bergamo - San Vigilio funicular.

The Palazzo Moroni is a palace located on Via Porta #12 in the historic center of the upper town of Bergamo, Italy. The palace is a civic art museum, as well as used for cultural functions. The building, noted for its Baroque interior decorations, is presently managed by the Fondazione di Palazzo Moroni in conjunction with the city after a donation by Count Antonio Moroni. The exterior is plain and faces a narrow steep street. Construction of the palace was commissioned by Francesco Moroni. The Moroni family had bought a homes at this site in the second half of the 16th century. After his marriage to Lucrezia Roncalli in 1631, he began construction of the Palace on the ground of Porta Penta. Construction went on until 1666. In 1649 Francesco contracted Giovanni Giacomo Barbelli to fresco the rooms of the interiors. Over the next century, further decorations were added including ceilings depicting The Age of Gold, The Fall of the Giants, and Hercules on a Chariot. The main ball room depicts stories from Torquato Tasso’s Gerusalemme Liberata. The entrance stairway was frescoed by Paolo Vincenzo Bonomini. Among the works displayed in the palace are works by Giovanni Battista Moroni, Bernardino Luini, Giovanni Giacomo Barbelli, Giuseppe Roncelli, and Cesare Tallone. The interior opens up to an inner garden with terraces.
