Orvanne

Moret-Loing-et-Orvanne (French pronunciation: [mɔʁɛ lwɛ̃ e ɔʁvan]) is a commune in the Seine-et-Marne department, in the Île-de-France region in north-central France. Moret-sur-Loing is the municipal seat. The municipality was established on 1 January 2016 and consists of the former communes of Épisy, Montarlot and Orvanne. Orvanne was the result of the merger of the communes of Moret-sur-Loing and Écuelles on 1 January 2015. On 1 January 2017, the former commune of Veneux-les-Sablons was merged into Moret-Loing-et-Orvanne.

On 1 January 2015, Moret-sur-Loing and Écuelles merged becoming one commune called Orvanne, which merged into the new commune Moret-Loing-et-Orvanne on 1 January 2016.The town was a source of inspiration for Monet, Renoir and Sisley.

The Château de Moret is a castle in the commune of Moret-sur-Loing in the Seine-et-Marne département of France.Originally built in the 12th century, it was substantially altered in the 17th century.The castle sits on the edge of the plateau and its secondary defences slope down to the river. The town was built at the head of the bridge and on the slopes of the castle hillock. Its rectangular keep with buttresses dates back to Louis VII.Privately owned, it has been listed since 1926 as a monument historique by the French Ministry of Culture. It is not open to the public.

The Communauté de communes Moret Seine et Loing is a federation of municipalities (communauté de communes) in the Seine-et-Marne département and in the Île-de-France région of France. Its area is 228.2 km2, and its population was 38,818 in 2018.

The Orvanne (French pronunciation: [ɔʁvan] ) is a 38.8 km (24.1 mi) long river in northern France located in the departments of Yonne (Bourgogne-Franche-Comté) and Seine-et-Marne (Île-de-France). It is a tributary of the river Loing on the right side, and so is a sub-tributary of the Seine. Its source is in the commune of Saint-Valérien, and it flows into the Loing in Moret-sur-Loing. The largest towns on the Orvanne are Voulx and Moret-Loing-et-Orvanne.

Veneux-les-Sablons (French pronunciation: [vənø le sablɔ̃] ) is a former commune in the Seine-et-Marne department in the Ile-de-France region in north-central France. On 1 January 2017, it was merged into the commune Moret-Loing-et-Orvanne.It is located near Moret-sur-Loing. Moret–Veneux-les-Sablons station has rail connections to Montargis, Melun, Montereau-Fault-Yonne, Laroche-Migennes and Paris.

Moret–Veneux-les-Sablons is a railway station in Veneux-les-Sablons and Moret-sur-Loing, Île-de-France, France. It is on the Paris–Marseille railway, and at the beginning of a branch line to Nevers and Clermont-Ferrand.

Saint-Mammès (French pronunciation: [sɛ̃ mamɛ]) is a commune in the Seine-et-Marne department in the Île-de-France region in north-central France, in the metropolitan area of Paris. It is located 61 kilometres (38 mi) south-southeast of the centre of Paris, at the confluence of the Seine and Loing rivers. The Seine borders the northern boundaries of the city, while the Loing borders on the west.

The canton of Moret-sur-Loing is a former French administrative division, located in the arrondissement of Fontainebleau, in the Seine-et-Marne département (Île-de-France région). It was disbanded following the French canton reorganisation which came into effect in March 2015.

The Loing (French pronunciation: [lwɛ̃]) is a 143 km (89 mi) long river in central France, a left tributary of the Seine.Its source is in Sainte-Colombe-sur-Loing, in the southwestern of the department of Yonne, and it flows into the Seine in Saint-Mammès, near Moret-sur-Loing. Its main tributaries are the Ouanne, the Aveyron, the Puiseaux, the Solin, the Lunain and the Orvanne. The part of the Briare Canal between Rogny-les-Sept-Écluses and Montargis runs parallel to the Loing.

Écuelles (French pronunciation: [ekɥɛl]) is a former commune in the Seine-et-Marne department in the Île-de-France region in north-central France. On 1 January 2015, Écuelles and Moret-sur-Loing merged becoming one commune called Orvanne, which merged into the new commune Moret-Loing-et-Orvanne on 1 January 2016.

Champagne-sur-Seine (French: [ʃɑ̃paɲ syʁ sɛn] ) is a commune in the Seine-et-Marne department in the Île-de-France region in north-central France.
