WUWF Public Media consists of radio, television and internet services. WUWF (88.1 FM) is a public radio station licensed to the board of trustees of the University of West Florida, located in Pensacola, Florida. The station is a member of National Public Radio, Florida Public Media, Florida Public Radio Network, American Public Media and Public Radio Exchange. The station's main signal is broadcast on 88.1 FM with a non-directional power output of 100,000 watts from a 1,000 feet (300 m) tower located in Midway, Florida. The primary antenna array is centered at 614 feet (187 m). Broadcasting a wide variety of network programs, WUWF FM is also known for locally produced programming like Acoustic Interlude and RadioLive. Both of these programs have national and international followers who listen on the station's internet broadcast service.. For 30 years, WUWF FM has produced a wide variety of local, national and international programming. WUWF 88.1 FM is the official Emergency Alert System broadcaster serving the Pensacola metropolitan area. WUWF operates in Hybrid Digital (HD) mode, providing the opportunity to multicast, which means three separate radio channels are available via HD receivers: WUWF FM-1, WUWF FM-2 and WUWF FM-3.

Midway is an unincorporated community in southern Santa Rosa County, Florida, United States. It is part of the Pensacola–Ferry Pass–Brent Metropolitan Statistical Area. The area is located between the communities of Gulf Breeze and Navarre, on the Fairpoint Peninsula. Midway is often considered to be part of one, if not both, of these communities. Its actual boundaries vary from source to source, but unofficially include most areas from the intersection of Soundside Drive with U.S. Highway 98, eastward until Highway 98 becomes Navarre Parkway. Midway Water Systems, Inc., which provides water service to the communities of Gulf Breeze and Navarre, is located in Midway. The community also has a fire department, the Midway Fire Department. Midway is also home to VFW "Bruce J Bell Memorial" Post 4407 which is often referred to as the 'Friendliest Little Post in Florida".Per the 2020 Census, the population was 19,567.

Gulf Islands National Seashore is an American National seashore that offers recreation opportunities and preserves natural and historic resources along the Gulf of Mexico barrier islands of Florida and Mississippi. In 2022, it was the eighth-most visited unit of the National Park Service. The protected regions include mainland areas and parts of seven islands. Some islands along the Alabama coast were originally considered for inclusion, but none are part of the National Seashore. The Florida District of the seashore features offshore barrier islands with sparkling white quartz sand beaches (along miles of undeveloped land), historic fortifications, and nature trails. The Perdido Key Historic District preserves shore batteries active in World War I and World War II. Mainland features near Pensacola, Florida, include the Naval Live Oaks Reservation, beaches, and military forts. All Florida areas are accessible by automobile. The Mississippi District of the seashore features natural beaches, historic sites, wildlife sanctuaries, islands accessible only by boat, bayous, nature trails, picnic areas, and campgrounds. The Davis Bayou Area is the only portion of the National Seashore in Mississippi that is accessible by automobile. Petit Bois, Horn, East Ship, West Ship, and Cat islands are accessible only by boat. The 4,080 acres (16.5 km2) Gulf Islands Wilderness offers special protection within the seashore to parts of Petit Bois Island and Horn Island, Mississippi. Considerable damage to public infrastructure occurred as a result of storms during the 2004 and 2005 Atlantic hurricane seasons. In subsequent years, infrastructure was fully repaired. All roadways, parking areas, campgrounds, and visitor centers have been repaired and are fully operational. A few trails and associated boardwalks and dune crossovers were still under repair as of late 2010, especially near the Fort Pickens campground. Hurricane Sally hit the area in September 2020 causing massive damage to the Gulf Islands Seashores. Perdido Key was hit with flooding waters that flattened out some of the dunes along Perdido Key. Johnson Beach National Seashore, part of the Gulf Islands National Seashore at the east end of the island, was hit particularly hard. Many of the dunes were flattened and the end of the island was gorged forming 3 small isolated islands off the tip. Restoration projects bring in sand and vegetation to restore storm damage, though it can be a long process with subsequent storms and strong winds. Entrance fees are charged at the entrance to the Fort Pickens area at Pensacola Beach, as well as the Johnson Beach Area at Perdido Key in Florida. The typical automobile entrance fee is US$25, good for seven days. Annual passes can be purchased for US$45.

The Fairpoint Peninsula, also referred to as the Gulf Breeze Peninsula or the Navarre Peninsula or historically the Santa Rosa Peninsula, is located in northwest Florida between Santa Rosa Sound (the location of the Gulf Intracoastal Waterway's route through the region) and Pensacola Bay.

Tom King Bayou Bridge is the locally used name for the East Bay Boulevard bridge crossing at Tom King Bayou. The bayou is crossed by East Bay Boulevard near the entrance of the bayou.

Tom King Bayou is a small, but locally important, bayou and creek in Navarre, Florida. The mouth of the bayou opens onto East Bay near Axelson Point and Robledal.The bayou acts as a major runoff for stormwaters and is critical to the local environment and for local homes for this purpose.

Tiger Point is a census-designated place in Santa Rosa County, Florida. It is considered to be a part of Gulf Breeze. The population was 3,090 as of the 2010 census.

Gable Lake is a small lake located in Navarre, Florida. The lake is primarily fed by a number of small unnamed creeks on the south shore. Subsequently, the lake outflows into the East Bay River and the East Bay via a small unnamed stream. Due to the former lack of a GNIS entry on the body of water, the name of the lake was not official until a recent ruling by the United States Board on Geographic Names.Gable Lake is presumed to be named after John Everett Gable and Katherine Gable, who lived in the area during the 1980s and 90s.

Axelson Point is a small cape along the shore of the East Bay in Navarre, Florida. The point is sometimes mistakenly called Diana's Point by local residents, though the origin of this is unclear.The point is named after the Axelson Family, one of the first families permanently residing in Navarre. The point only extends less than a hundred meters into the bay. The Axelsons operated a shipyard on the point, using lumber from Miller Point across the bay.The point is historically significant, not only due to it being the home of the previously mentioned Axelson family, but also due to it being one of the first landing spots for exploration in the area. Some of the Pensacola homes of the original Axelson family still stand today; however, none of the homes on Axelson Point are from the original family.Axelson Point, together with Miller Point, make up the mouth of East Lagoon, the river-like eastern reaches of East Bay.

Poplar Creek is a creek tributary of the narrowed river-like side of East Bay, in the Holley neighborhood of Navarre, Florida.

Naval Outlying Landing Field (NOLF) Holley was a naval outlying landing field of the larger Naval Air Station Whiting Field located within the city limits of the community of Navarre, Florida. The two runways were each 3,600 feet (1,100 meters) long. The runways were restricted to limited military use only; however, in 2017, the Gulf Power company was authorized to build a solar power plant on the facility grounds. The plant now provides power for some 18,000 homes, making it one of the largest solar fields in the region. The solar panels completely cover what were once the runways.

Holley is an unincorporated community and census-designated place in Santa Rosa County, Florida, United States. Its population was 2,484 as of the 2020 census. Florida State Road 87 passes through the community. For almost all cases, the community of Holley, is considered to be a neighborhood or character area of the larger community of Navarre, Florida. This includes the community of Holley being included in the federally designated Holley-Navarre Census County Division, being served by the Holley-Navarre Fire District and Holley-Navarre Water System, and being included in the county election precinct exclusively designated for Navarre. Major neighborhoods in Holley include Holley Village, Muddy Ford, Harper, and Miller Point.
