La Mamelle, Inc. / Art Com was a not-for-profit arts organization, artist-run space, or alternative exhibition space, active from 1975 through 1995, and was located at 70-12th Street in the South of Market-area of San Francisco, California. The organization's first venture was publishing but it became involved in a multiplicity of activities including maintaining an artists' space and presenting exhibitions and events of mail art, performance art, conceptual photography, video art production and screenings, a library, distributing artist-produced works, and creating one of the first artists' online networks.

Zuni Café is a restaurant in San Francisco, California. It is located on Market Street in San Francisco and named after the Zuni tribe of indigenous Pueblo peoples of Arizona and New Mexico.Zuni Café was established in 1979 by Billy West. In 1981 he hired Vince Calcagno as the manager, who became a business partner in 1987. West and Calcagno hired Judy Rodgers (formerly of Chez Panisse) as head chef in 1987. West died on July 1, 1994; Calcagno and Rodgers went on to become co-owners. Zuni Cafe, with Rodgers at the helm, won the James Beard Foundation Award for 'Best Chef: Pacific' in 2000, 'Outstanding Restaurant' in 2003, and 'Outstanding Chef' in 2004. In 2018, the restaurant received the James Beard Award for Outstanding Service.Calcagno retired in 2006. Gilbert Pilgram joined Zuni Café as a co-owner in 2006. Rodgers died on December 2, 2013.

San Francisco Law School is a private, for-profit law school in San Francisco, California. Founded in 1909, it is the oldest evening law school in the Western United States. The school became non-profit in 1941 and moved to Haight Street in 1968, where it would remain for almost 50 years before relocating to its present campus on Beach Street, near Fisherman's Wharf. The law school offers a four-year, part-time evening program leading to a Juris Doctor degree. In July 2010, the law school completed a merger to become a for-profit, graduate school of Alliant International University. San Francisco Law School has been accredited by the Committee of Bar Examiners of the State Bar of California since 1937, but is not accredited by the American Bar Association. As a result, SFLS graduates are generally required to pass the California bar exam before they can take the bar exam or practice in states outside of California. San Francisco Law School is also regionally accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges. SFLS has a five year cumulative bar pass rate of 36%, below the 40% threshold established by the State Bar of California. As a result, the school has been placed on probation until July 1, 2022. Failure to raise its cumulative pass rate to 40% by that point could result in the termination of the school's accreditation.In 2014, San Diego Law School opened as a branch campus of San Francisco Law School and is located in the Walter Library on Alliant's campus in San Diego at Scripps Ranch. San Diego Law School offers a four-year part-time evening program and is also accredited by the Committee of Bar Examiners of the State of California.

Market and Gough is a light rail station in San Francisco, California, serving the San Francisco Municipal Railway F Market & Wharves heritage railway line. It is located on Market Street at the intersections of Haight Street and Gough Street. Under the proposed Western Variant of the planned Better Market Street project, the inbound stop would be moved across the intersection.

The Fillmore West was a historic rock and roll music venue in San Francisco, California, US which became famous under the direction of concert promoter Bill Graham from 1968 to 1971. Named after The Fillmore at the intersection of Fillmore Street and Geary Boulevard (which was Graham's principal venue from 1966 to 1968), it stood at the southwest corner of Market Street and South Van Ness Avenue in the Civic Center district. In June 2018, the top two floors of the building reopened as SVN West, a new concert and corporate event venue.

Fifteen Fifty is a 40-story, 400-foot (120 m) residential skyscraper at 1550 Mission Street in San Francisco, California.The tower is located in the South of the Market neighborhood. The interior was planned by Marmol Radziner and the exterior was designed by Skidmore, Owings & Merrill. The building has 550 rooms and includes a 12,000 square-foot park. Construction began in 2018 and it was completed in 2020. It is one of San Francisco's newest high-rises and is the 57th tallest building in the city.

The French American International School is a PK-12 independent school in San Francisco, California. The lower school (PK-8) is known as "French American" or simply "FAIS," FAIS is a bilingual French-English school from PK to 8th grade. The high school, International High School, referred to as "IHS" or "International", has its own identity and French is not required to attend. IHS is currently the only school in San Francisco to offer both the International Baccalaureate Diploma Program and the French Bac. Over half of the incoming freshman class at IHS come from Bay Area middle schools outside of FAIS, including, Chinese American International School (CAIS), Ecole Bilingue de Berkeley, International School of the Peninsula (ISTP), Live Oak, San Francisco Day, Presidio Hill, Hamlin, SF Friends, Adda Clevenger, Brandeis, Children's Day, Katherine Delmar Burke, Marin Country Day, St. Paul Episcopal, Alice Fong Yu, Aptos, and Everett, among others. A small number of students enter from schools abroad.

California's 12th congressional district is a congressional district in northern California. Speaker of the United States House of Representatives Nancy Pelosi, a Democrat, has represented the district since January 2013. She has represented various congressional districts within the city of San Francisco since 1987. The district was also once represented by Richard Nixon. As of 2013, the 12th district is entirely within San Francisco, encompassing most of the city. The remainder of the city is included in the 14th district. Prior to redistricting by the California Citizens Redistricting Commission of 2011, the district consisted of roughly the area of the current 14th district. It is the smallest district by area outside New York City.

Van Ness station is an underground Muni Metro station on the Market Street subway at the intersection of Market Street and Van Ness Avenue (U.S. Route 101) in San Francisco, California. The station consists of a concourse mezzanine on the first floor down, and a single island platform on the second level down. Service at the station began in February 1980.The station has suffered flooding during heavy rainstorms, including one in October 2009, and another in December 2014 which damaged an electrical equipment room. In February 2017, the SFMTA signed a $1.9 million contract to repair water-damaged wiring in the room.This station is at the southern terminus of the Van Ness Bus Rapid Transit route. Under the proposed western variant of the planned Better Market Street project, the outbound F stop would be moved across the intersection.

The San Francisco Conservatory of Music (SFCM) is a private music school in San Francisco, California. As of 2021, it had 480 students.

The New Conservatory Theatre Center is a not-for-profit theatre company located in San Francisco, California. NCTC showcases an eight-show Pride Season, an In-Concert/Cabaret Series, Family Theatre performances, YouthAware Touring Educational Theatre, and an Emerging Artists program. NCTC also houses a comprehensive Conservatory for youth and adults. It is located in San Francisco at 25 Van Ness Avenue, near Market Street.

Chinese American International School (CAIS) is an independent pre-Kindergarten through Grade 8 co-educational Chinese-English dual language immersion school located in San Francisco, California. The CAIS program is oriented around the school mission: "Embrace Chinese; become your best self; create your place in the world." To these ends, CAIS offers a Chinese-English dual language immersion curriculum with up to 50% of each school day in Chinese. The school was the first in the United States to have Mandarin immersion education.CAIS also has international travel programs for current students, high school-aged alumni, and faculty and staff. The school organizes trips to Taipei, Beijing, and Yunnan in the fifth, seventh, and eighth grades, respectively.
